Re: Newborn Questions
We had luck with the Mommy's Bliss gripe water. We've used it twice so far. Both times it's helped with getting our little one to burp or pass gas.
Now I have an active toddler so that laid back schedule doesn't work. It is almost summer and there are so many fun things to do and I don't want to miss out on these memories with my toddler. Summer is our busiest time for fun activities so this should be interesting. We also have an early fall camping trip we take every year (we bring our huge dogs along) and we decided to go ahead with that too.

Edited to add because I do feel like a complete DA- especially when going into pharmaceuticals as a profession- that I was thinking APAP and i know thats acetaminophen. I cant believe I said ibuprofen. I really do apologize. I'm just so paranoid about ODs on everyones account and am super drug conscious and really just wanted to make sure everyone is keeping themselves and their LOs safe. I really do apologize ladies!
Anyone else dealing with major levels of colic / crying? People saying "oh colic usually only lasts from 3weeks to 12weeks" isn't helping. I am not sure how I will handle another 9-10 weeks of this! It's overwhelming and I feel like there is no end in sight. I feel drained and miserable constantly.
I think as long as his poops reflect what it's suppose to look like as a breastfed baby then you're good.
Thankfully, our friends came yesterday and gave us a ton of size 1 diapers their son no longer fits in! So grateful.
I don't have a good light weight wrap to wear her. We have a Mountain buggy Juno to wear her for walks but it isn't practical in the house. I might look to get a K'tan...seems like a lot of ladies around here like that one and say its easiest to use. Anyone have any input on that?
The loud "Shhhhhhhh" works ( i was trying that last night ) but she starts up again within 30 seconds even if I keep the "shhh" going. Sometimes picking her up and holding her does nothing but get my punched in the face.
Ill try the side jiggle, bouncing, and the Happiest baby video. I might try the vacuum but I'm not sure that MH or the neighbors below us will appreciate it at 9:30-11:30 at night :P But if I try it and it works then everyone else will just have to deal with it!
Keep up the good work! Your situation sounds challenging at best, but you're doing an awesome job.
I also recommend a hair dryer. That's what helped my friends little girl when she was super colicky. The white noise is calming for them.

Just a moment ago I swaddled her, did the side rock/jiggle and did the "Shhhhh." I put on the white noise and left the room. She fussed for 15 minutes and fell asleep. I went in and turned the volume down and she woke up and cried! I turned it back up and shes out again. I'm going to go through this routine tonight during her normal meltdown time. . .FX!!

They also make an app with the same sound if you want to try it tonight.
My baby boy is 16 days now and let me tell you, sleep deprivation is torture! Every single night he would fuss and cry! We tried everything from rocking him, the mamaroo, singing songs, playing songs, constantly check his diaper or if he's hungry. I felt like I'm failing because absolutely nothing would work but sleeping on my chest. Until yesterday. We put him in his room upstairs in his crib to take some pictures and he would fall asleep right away for 3h straight! We tried it at night and it worked wonders! Had to wake him up for his feedings! The mattress from the pack and play and bassinet is pretty thin compared to the crib mattress. Don't know why we didn't try this earlier! I always wanted little man in our room at least for a couple of months, but if he sleeps save and sound upstairs with a baby monitor, that's the route I will take. Just wanted to share this. Maybe someone is going through the same. He is an angel this morning, so rested
