@JournoGrl23 I think copying and pasting the announcement thread is great. It seems to cover everything.
I like the suggestion of a birth story thread as well for longer posts too. I love reading birth stories!
Agree -- this is what we did on my previous BMB and it worked out well. Plus, some people are more private and don't necessarily want to share the entire birth story. Thanks for doing that, @JournoGrl23!
Tulips DH got me for Mother's Day are dying already...we asked each other how we're going to take care of a baby when we can't even take care of flowers (half serious).
Also, weather in DC has been sucking lately. It's chilly in the morning, all gloomy, then hits 70s in the afternoon, with sprinkles by evening on repeat this month.
I feel slight congestion, light headed, tired, and there's constant pressure on my eyes but I also feel that I can't slow down right now with so much to do before baby's arrival.
I was picking up Popeye's for dinner last night (in the midst of movers packing up our condo, so no pots to cook in!) and a lady came over to me and said, "I notice that pregnant ladies always hold their bellies like they are giving the baby a hug," because I had my hands on my stomach, so I was mentally preparing myself for a stupid stranger comment, but she just asked if it was my first and then said, "you just look so beautiful and so happy!" Made my night!

I keep seeing cute maternity outfits on Pinterest that involve white t-shirts or white tanks. Every white maternity shirt I have is pretty see-through and you can see the lovely over-the-belly panels of my pants/skirts through it. Has anyone found a white maternity tee/tank that's not so see-through?
@Mfuller76 I worry more about wearing white due to the fact that everything I try to eat would end up on it. I have bad luck with white and being pregnant just makes it that much worse lol. The boobs catch everything!
@Mfuller76 That's been bugging me, too! I've seen jeans/pants with "nude" panels. They were made by A Pea in the Pod, and sold at Macy's. Kinda pricey, though. And of course this is no help to non-white people, but maybe even then the "nude" color would be better than navy blue/black under everything!
@Mfuller76 I found a white tshirt at Ross, it's not maternity but I got a few sizes up and it will probably fit for a while. I also wear camis under everything so even if it's a little see through I can't really tell.
@Mfuller76 all of mine have been see through, so I just got one size up in non-maternity camis to wear under them. My jeans have the nude panel, but even that you can see through my white tee shirts.
@Mrsrundell This happened to me with my first kiddo about seven years ago. My sister and cousin were throwing the shower. My sis and I designed the invites ourselves - square design. I reminded her multiple times that square envelopes required different postage. Her solution? She weighed them all on the meter at her office and completely ignored me. Some invites didn't show up until well after the shower. Other ones would show up asking for a price difference to be paid. I was devastated! The good thing? The shower was still amazing and all was forgiven. Hope yours gets worked out!
Haven't been on here much lately as I am currently obsessed with cloth diapers and have been on that fb page interacting with those mamas. Anyway, just wanted to share I got to experience the labor and delivery ward yesterday... I called my doctor because I was having upper abdominal pain, it was a stabbing feeling. They thought it was probably my gall bladder but ER's get freaked out by pregnant ladies so labor and delivery it was (I was totally expecting them to just say "try drinking more water" lol). Fortunately, all is ok with me and baby, it turns out baby is breech and his head seems to be pushing on my intestines so that's probably what the pain is. It was an interesting experience... the machine was picking up braxton hicks contractions that I wasn't even feeling. As a first time mom that was surprising to me! I was hoping for some excitement on the floor like a baby or two being born but it was just me in there. I hadn't seen the maternity ward in the hospital yet so I guess I know what it's like now! Hope everyone is feeling well! I was reading all the posts on this thread and totally have to commiserate with everyone hating the rainy weather. @JournoGrl23 I will trade you for your hot weather ANY day!!! We lived in Florida for two years and I loved it!!!! Also, to whomever asked about the belly panels on pants, I have several from motherhood and one from loft I found at a consignment shop with nude panels. I have a few white shirts that I wear regularly and don't feel like you can see through them much.
I hate nude panels when it comes to pants. If my shirt rolls up the belly at all it makes it look like I'm showing skin. I don't want anyone thinking my belly is hanging out. Maybe if I didn't have a toddler that always wanted up then it wouldn't be an issue.
I babysat my 2 and 5 year old nieces today. As I was starting to eat lunch the 5 year old asked me to chew my food into very small pieces so that the baby can eat some of it once the food gets into my belly.
Why can't there be delivery services for baked goods? I'm craving soft moist sponge cake with vanilla frosting. Classic! Down it with a cold glass of milk and I'll be good to go. I'm sick yet hungry. Sleepy yet awake. If only there was a bakery open this late and offered delivery...

There are so many times I've thought this exact same thing.
I have been MIA on here for a while now....Work has been keeping me busy and a pain in my butt. By the time I get home and settled down I'm just ready for bed. Anyways we have been trying to get our daughters room fully converted to her room and a nursery for our baby girl when she arrives. Our daughter recently wants to get into all of her old baby stuff(clothes, carseat etc). This should be fun when our newest addition gets here. The other day at work I about jumped out of my chair....baby girl decided to kick really hard that caught me off guard. Lol
Ok seriously what are we waiting for? This service will do so well even in major cities, not just college campus towns!!! Not just cookies but cake slices, brownies, cupcakes...SHARK TANK?! If I had baking capabilities, I'd go for it!
