@texasmama2014 that meme was my day yesterday. All the laundry, dishes and grocery shopping that didn't get done on Sunday consumed my time. I'm still catching up. Add that to DH not getting home until close to 11 two nights this week because of work functions, and I am one tired lady.
@Bookhousegirl, we do already have a very large stand-up deep freeze with lots of shelves, but I can see how limited space would make this impractical.
@Fremdschamen, I did read some blogs about this and several people say it works out very well, of course I won't know for sure until I try. It looks like they make commercially designed rigid plastic and glass containers as well, which would lend itself to the same issue. Both the glass and plastic ones appear to be significantly more expensive than say Ball or Kerr Mason jelly jars - which happened to be rated for both freezing and canning temperatures. As a bonus, they could easily be re-purposed for homemade baby food jars, and I think they will fit in the bottle steamer/sterilizer that I have my eye on.
We make homemade chicken stock and we used to keep it in Ball jars in our deep freezer, but switched to plastic because the Ball jars kept cracking in the freezer and I'd have to strain our broth to get the glass shards out. Don't think you'd want to be doing that with breast milk, though I like the idea of saving plastic bags.
Currently it is "perfect" weather here in NJ... 70-ish, yet I'm miserable in my office because it's so hot! It's not warm enough to put the AC on so it's hotter in the building than it is outside. My little fan isn't quite cutting it. I'm wishing for warmer weather so that we can crank up the AC! The swelling has begun now too so I've got fat hands and feet that are super sweaty and clammy. So pleasant!

That sounds like a terrible experience!!! Do you mind me asking a few specifics about your process - as I definitely don't want glass in my freezer stash. Which size / type Ball jars you used for your chicken stock? (Not all types / sizes are rated for freezing.) Did you cool the broth to at least room temperature before freezing and loosely apply the lid for the first 24 hours before tightening to allow for the liquids to expand? I know my aunt freezes spaghetti sauce in hers all the time - she has never mentioned an issue...
Anyone only feel kicks on one side? With DS1 I felt like he was all over the place. I swore I was gestating an octopus because I was getting jabbed everywhere. This babe always kicks in the exact same spot on my right side. Maybe he has found a comfortable position and just isn't moving and therefore his feet are always in the same place?
I also feel much more movement on the right side. At my U/Ss baby is usually facing that way.
Two days ago baby flipped back to head up, I could feel the head plain as day under my ribs, so could DH. But then I think the baby got stuck when trying to flip back down, head was jammed towards the right with movement all night long. It has actually been freaking me. To make matters worse, I'm pretty sure he/she had hiccups for the first time this morning. That was also uncomfortable and scary.
@bananers- my baby has pretty much stayed in the same position (head to the right, legs to the left). So all my kicks are on my left side and I feel some punches, etc down bottom. I feel the baby moving a bunch but not totally switching position.
This LO is all over the place. I feel like he is doing flips, I can't tell whether or not he is head down or up because the kicks and movement is everywhere.
@bananers mine has been isolated to the right side as well. I have an anterior placenta on the left that wraps around so that would explain why I only feel her on the right. Also, I have a huge bulge on the right so I assume that's where she's hanging out. She loves to wedge herself in my ribs!
Yessss @bananers I mentioned it to DH today that the baby keeps rolling around on my right side!
It's no longer just flutters, I can feel the baby pressing against my belly literally rolling. I keep singing, "they see me rollin' they hatin'..." in my head every time I see these movements. Now it's just stuck in my head.
I have a question that I guess could go in this randoms thread. When are we starting a birth announcement thread? I hope no one gives birth for a long time yet, but noticed some people in July gave birth at 27 weeks and we have people who are further along than that already. Should we start a thread soon?
I have noticed that the new update for the bumb app works SO much better than before. Maybe it will actually let me post once in a while! Edited because spelling isn't my thing today.
I feel and see her pushing on my left side. I think it's her hands. I was watching my stomach yesterday and got some hits on video.
@JournoGrl23 I was thinking that the other day. Since I'm due the very end of August, I always feel like the "baby" of the group. So in my mind I'm like "too soon!!" But you're right. I think it can be started anytime now.
@bananers Yep. Baby is firmly planted on the right side. I had an US yesterday and feet are up, head down, right side. Pretty much the same as my last one 6 weeks ago!
@JournoGrl23 I was just thinking this the other day too. Since I'm pregnant with twins I fear I will be one of the very early ones!! Hopefully not the first one though. I'm no where near ready at 25 weeks. I haven't even had my shower yet!
I just looked at the list of BMBs and they have through March 2017 on there. And, one of my Facebook friends just announced her pregnancy and she's due at the very beginning of January 2017. This pregnancy is flying by!
My mom(54) fell at work a few weeks ago and her hip bruised pretty bad so she went to the doctor. They referred her to an orthopedic and she had her MRI yesterday. She cracked her hip bone and has to have surgery to place screws so that it heals right. If she didn't then eventually her hip would break and she would need a full replacement.
The end of this month is the one year anniversary of my grandpas death. He died from a blood clot that traveled after he had a partial hip replacement so I'm trying not to have a hormone induced freak out. I am really trying not to stress over this but I can't help but think of everything we went through last year with my grandpa and then my grandma.
I can't believe we are talking about birth stories already! Not that we shouldn't be, but I think I'm in denial that we are getting that close. I have, literally, nothing ready for LO. I'm also not planning on preparing very much before we move in July, so this baby better stay put until August!
@Lynnlove28 I'm really sorry to hear that. Since you're aware of the issue maybe the doctor can be proactive about preventing clots with her (blood thinner or other things)?
@Lynnlove28, I'm glad they caught it sooner rather than later. The surgery you describe for your mom is supposed to be a faster recovery time and with her presumed younger age than your grandfather, hopefully she will come through with flying colors and no complications!!
I am all in favor of a quickie "announcements" thread pinned, and totally all for longer sharing AW style threads for anyone who wants to share their experience more than "It was wonderful and he/she is here, I'm exhausted, just wanted to let y'all know." Maybe a board etiquette suggestion of posting "birth story" in the headline, in case anyone does NOT want to read stories before it's their turn? I know a couple women have mentioned their desire to stick their heads in the sand beyond need to know until AFTER they give birth, whereas other women are snooping birth stories from other boards! A little way to respect our diversity
@Lynnelove28 my co worker just went through a hip replacement in her 50's. If that does end up happening, it *really* is a whole different ball game than in a few decades. The person's level of mobility, over all health, are all factors in that kind of situation and more likely to be favorable at 50. I'm sorry for your loss of your grandfather... and if you want to have a pregnancy hormone induced freakout, we're here to listen!
so last night i had a dream that i had baby girl and found out i was pregnant again, i started to cry in my dream because i felt like i did not wait enough time to enjoy my baby girl. I am definitely going on birth control or something after she is born because i want to enjoy her as much as i can before i even think about having my next child.
@LynnLove28 Oh no, that sounds so stressful for you and your mom! Hope all goes well and that she has a speedy (and uneventful) recovery.
@Allisun85 I think that's a great idea! I'm one of the ones that's snooping around reading birth stories but I can totally see how not everyone would want to hear the details.
I can't believe we're already talking about birth announcements either. Here's to hoping we don't need that thread anytime soon though. Stay put a little longer, babies!
There is a family on Dr. Phil right now and they are confronting a girl who uses several different alias to stalk them. The girl then takes pictures of the families twins and posts them as her own. Get. Your. Own. Life.
Ugh - so my shower invites got mailed a few weeks ago (for June 5 shower) and the stupid lady put the wrong postage on them so half of the people are getting them and I keep getting a few in my mailbox returned to sender each day!! I told her like 5 times to make sure she is putting the postage for a SQUARE and she kept rolling her eyes and acting annoyed... Now I don't know if I should text everyone to see if they received their invite or not - they are gonna think I'm psycho.
On a brighter note - we are headed out for our babymoon tomorrow morning!!!!
Awesome! Well I can start the thread if all of you are fine with that. I've been lurking other boards to see what they did; do we just want to use their same format? It seems like they've all used the same format with the same rules. Or do we want to be less strict?
Or if all of you would prefer, I'm fine with people posting individual threads or something too.
@Lynnlove28 Sending positive vibes your way for you and your mom.
I also second a main thread type birth announcement and if others want to post individual threads too.

I work at the "sister" hospital today which doesn't happen very often. The best part is my DH who is a lead there normally doesn't work bench, but he happens to today. AND we work the same department today!!!
I know a lot of people wouldn't be excited to work the whole day with their spouse, but I'm just so excited to sit at the scopes today with him. We usually work opposite shift times and different hospitals, so this is a complete rare gem. Plus it's a department I specialize in and love, hematology! Woot!
Oh yeah and it's Friday! And I don't work the weekend! I can't think of a more perfect way to round out this crappy week.

So, I went to the doctor yesterday and found out that I have a yeast infection. WTF? I didn't have any symptoms except for (TMI) discharge that was smelly. I have never had a yeast infection in my life and I know discharge is normal in pregnancy so I didn't think anything of it. Now I am on a 7 day cream, to be inserted at night, which is nasty!

To be honest, I don't know what type they are but they've been all different sizes. Just whatever we've had on hand leftover from previous projects, etc. But yes, we did wait for it to come to room temperature before freezing, and we did the lids loosely in the deep freeze til they were totally frozen. Seems like we tried everything! They didn't crack every single time, but often enough to make us switch to plastic. (Now we just use old cottage cheese and yogurt containers so at least we are still "reusing" instead of buying all new plastic.
