Happy Mothers Day / Mothers-To-Be Day to everyone!
I think pregnancy hormones are getting the better of me today. I woke up to rain and a forecast of mostly rain for the rest of the week. I had a cry while I was checking the news on the Fort McMurray fires in Alberta (my home province) and it just doesn't seem fair that we in the east are getting all the rain that the west so desperately needs. Couple that with seeing the pets that have been rescued and are lost from their owners and I am blubbering mess
Feeling so thankful that my parents live in southern AB far from the fires.
@lovelylauren86 I am so sorry to hear this for your cousin. I can't even imagine how they must be feeling. Praying for comfort and support during this difficult time for the entire family.
@lovelylauren86 oh gosh that makes me so sad. I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope she can somehow find peace during this difficult time. I can't help but find it devastating that she has to go through this on Mother's Day. I'll be thinking of you guys
I actually came on here to bitch about weight gain, and have been hit by the reality of just how lucky we all are to be carrying these babies, every week every day. My heart goes out to your family @lovelylauren86the heartache is truly unfathomable. I'm sure they savored his short time here and I'm sure he will be remembered and loved forever.
To everyone who posted such lovely, supportive messages, thank you. I went to see my mom in the rehab clinic yesterday, which was hard, but I know it's the right thing. She seemed in pretty good spirits, too, all things considered. It will be a tough road and a huge lifestyle adjustment for her, but we are so lucky that she decided it was time and that our family and friends (at least those who know so far) have been really supportive of her.
@lovelylauren86 I am so sorry to hear of your cousin's loss. I wish him, his wife, and their family all the best as they try to find peace and learn to move forward.

The scale was particularly cruel this morning, and therefore I packed way too little food to get me through the day. Trying not to be cranky about it, also trying not to run to the cafeteria to buy snacks. I also forgot a baggy of honey nut cheerios on the counter at home, which doesn't help my situation. Hoping my meeting from 2-4 is really interesting, otherwise I'm going to be starving
@jhems776- always. If i recognize a username (not the ones from this thread) it's usually not a good thing. Every discussion (and there are quite a few) gets a side eye from me somewhere in the post. Little too dramatic for my taste
@jhems776 I definitely read the most recent one and wondered if she had forgotten that she had sold us on the abusive relationship thing earlier and was now inventing a new crisis that she didn't realize conflicted with the old. We've been pretty lucky with a lack of fake stories (at least, from what we can tell!), but I always come into high drama stories with a little bit of skepticism.
