@Tippy05 - your husband sounds just like mine. I do hate complaining about his horrible handling of special occasions because he is pretty awesome in every other way.
DD is down for her nap, and I'm laying in bed feeling and watching baby girl #2 kick the crap out of me. I swear it never gets old to me. I love it, and missed it!
Okay, since ladies always assume I'm talking about them when I say I'm weirded out by AW posters take a look at the newest post "22 weeks." THAT is what I mean when I'm like WTF. Not ladies who actually take the time to post on here. So yeah, if you're even reading this thread how would you constitute the people that don't bother to learn about the community?

Yup. You were also way nicer than you needed to be in light of the fact that same chick has also posted weird AWish posts with no questions before, and has yet, to my knowledge, made any attempt to provide support or get to know anyone.
@jhems776- Way to go Mr. Jhems!!! I remember my last Mother's Day being pregnant I wasn't sure if the day was really for me or not, but ya know what, IT IS! And it's awesome when someone else makes you feel that way and take away any doubt. Those are beautiful and going to get better as the lilies open up!!
DH bought a Mother's Day Card that I assumed was for me (from my dog lol) but I asked him "Oh, is that for your mom?" He replies "Either for you or for my mom. Do you like it?"
so, i found out this am that mother's day plans for this week are getting cancelled. my mom is having hard wood floors installed in her house and the workers are super behind so no pool party this weekend bc its a construction zone. also, my sister went to the er last night and found out she has to have her gallbladder removed so is not feeling up to hanging out. so when i talked to dh about it he said "well, it's not like we have ever been a really mother's day celebrating family anyway" um... that's bc we have a 2 yr old and this is only the 2nd one where we've celebrated my mother's day as opposed to just our own moms. and we are celebrating dammit! i want to be pampered!
***plz excuse the all lower case, my son barfed on my computer and one of the shift keys doesn't work. fml.
@AnnaS930 mr. toot! hahahahahaha! he really IS being a mr. toot right now! i told him mothers day was like my second bday just like father's day would be like his second bday. waiting for that to sink in.
I just allowed images in signatures to see this May competition and remembered why I don't allow them.. considering I Bump from work on my 2nd monitor. Ohhhhh my goodness. The family pyramid makes me the most uncomfortable BY FAR
Currently trying to decide if I want to bop around the mall for a bit or just deal with a 2 hour commute (traffic is horrible on nice days that are also Fridays) and head home. What would you do? Shop or home?
@PoodleDoodleOoo- I'm impatient.. if it's definitely a 2 hour commute and you could get home at the same time even if you burned a half hour at the mall... I'd go get some walking in. Window shop at some baby stores, etc
@PoodleDoodleOoo I say go shopping but only if Fred is with you Otherwise run home to see him haha.
So, my pup is turning 2 on June 3 and her entire litter (7 puppies) live close enough for us to have a giant birthday party for them! We had one last year and it was so much fun. I got them doggy cupcakes from Sprinkles and they (unsuccessfully) wore party hats. I can't wait. Anyone else a freak like me?
I am seriously scared on how I will be with my son. I am OBSESSED with my dog (like watch her on the cameras at doggy day care obsessed) so what is to become of me when I have a living breathing baby!?
I sat down on the couch 40 minutes ago to take a quick break before cleaning up my classroom. I haven't moved since. I could have cleaned up and been home by now! Happy Friday, all! I hope you all have more energy than I do.
@mom2adoodle that sounds awesome and adorable. I, too, have birthday celebrations for my dog. I'm now going to be a total AW and share these photos from her birthday (huge, sorry, on mobile)
Uh FFFC - One of the running jokes in my other BMB is our judgment of people who throw birthday parties for their pets. I swear I'm not judging you as a person. Just judging uh, the over-the-top celebration of a pet. (I have pets too! I love them. But not birthday party love.)
Ha! To each their own. I'd save all the doggies if I could and throw them all their own special party!!!!!@psubecky23 No shame in my game, I prefer most animals over people #crazydoglady
@mom2adoodle Fred has an annual birthday celebration and I love love love it when we get to meet up with his other siblings (they are also assist dogs!). We also had a giant graduation party for Fred and we celebrated some of his milestones - like his first flight. We even had him "blessed" at our church's blessing of the animals. We were the only adults without kids at that one.
@PoodleDoodleOoo You're my kind of people. My pup has had Christmas photos with Santa and Easter photos with the Easter bunny. That's awesome that Fred's siblings are also assistant dogs! What a smart litter. Did you get him from a special breeder?
I'm sooooo crabby! I'm trying hard to shake it. Nothing is working. Send me happy thoughts ladies! I want to go into the weekend on a good footing with DH...and being crabby won't help that happen!
Ha! To each their own. I'd save all the doggies if I could and throw them all their own special party!!!!!@psubecky23 No shame in my game, I prefer most animals over people #crazydoglady
I haven't spoken about it much on here, but my dad has cancer. The good news is he had his last chemo treatment on Tuesday, and they're now considering him cancer free! (Though they say the type he has is likely to return, so they'll just monitor and "spot-treat" with chemo as needed.)
It could not have come sooner because he is an absolute jerk following chemo days for about a week each time. He's not the type to admit he's suffering so he tries to act like everything is fine. The stress comes out in how he treats others. The family gets the brunt of it, and it's been extra hard on me because we are so close. Today he told me that I'm disrespectful of everyone I talk to. I know he doesn't really mean it and he'll apologize and make up for it when he feels better, but I just don't have the emotional fortitude to deal with this right now. This pregnancy has blindsided me with how awful I feel most days and I've been fighting so hard to stay kind and considerate of others through all of it. DH, who is out of town for the night, told me he sees how hard I work at it and he doesn't think I'm disrespectful. I'm so grateful for him, but I am just down in the dumps tonight =/
@Jabreen me too!!! I can't wait till there are kicks in there with my thumping heartbeat!
@PSUBecky23 I don't blame you- I don't know how all the Team Green ladies do it! Such strong will! I'm a total control freak and I just HAD to find out so I can plan.
@runningisrad I've noticed some dried white stuff once in a while, so it must be a little colostrum already, which blows my mind!
@Annas930 OMG people suck! I agree- the only thing anyone should ever say to a pregnant woman is how wonderful she looks- even if it's not true! So far it's been good for me- no stupid ass comments- but I bet they will be coming as I continue to grow! p.s.- you look fabulous!!! Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!
@blondie080300 YAY! Glad to see you on again- I missed you! I'm sorry to hear about the pelvic rest, but I'm sure it will clear up. My placenta was lying a little low in the beginning so they had to go in and check intra-vaginally- luckily it has shifted up a little since then so I'm okay but still have to be a little careful. I hope yours moves up for you too AND I can't wait to see the bump!!! It's like we're all finally popping!
@RG1 OMG your siggy is HILARIOUS! I can't stop laughing when I see it!
@kimmyschmidt I feel the same- I don't know if it will feel real until I'm holding him in my arms- and even then, it will still probably be surreal!
Goodness sakes a lot happens on this thread! Haha I do not have enough hours in my day to keep up, although I wish I did. I'm sorry I'm just seeing this now!! I'm glad I can crack you up. There's some pretty hilarious ones this month! I crack up every time
@cassloumy I don't have any insight for you because I've never been in your situation, but I feel for you and hope you feel better soon.
Regarding birthdays for dogs, we have never thrown a party, but we always do a birthday celebration for our dog. He gets a cake and toy. We also buy him Christmas presents, and he has his own stocking that gets filled. He was our baby for 5 years before we had a human baby.
My random: Our double stroller came by Fed Ex today. I'm so excited! One more check off the list of things to get done.
My next door neighbors have been building their outdoor pool since December. While the pool is done, everything else like the fireplace, outdoor kitchen etc is not. They have their handyman working until 10 pm at night. He is cutting stone and the saw is so loud it sounds like it's in my backyard. Last night he was hammering and banging so loud it woke up my 1 year old. My girls bedroom windows are on that side of the house.
I asked my neighbor why he Is working so late and she says "I know isn't it great he is such a trooper". No it's actually not great. They don't have kids so I guess they don't know what it's like when they are finally asleep.
Every single weekend they are outside blasting music and up with their barking dogs until 3am, no joke. Am I an ass if I say something? Or should I just let that shit go? My master bedroom is near their backyard so I hear everything.
@seitzy3 I'm not sure about where you live and what the rules are but in our city we have noise ordinances and regulations around when construction is allowed to start and when it has to end. Is there a non- emergency police line you can call to find out if that's even allowed?
UGH guys I changed my username through the Knot and it didn't carry over for some reason. I emailed the customer center but no answer and it's been a couple of weeks. I don't know what else to do!
@Seitzy3 I second what @mom2adoodle said- check the noise ordinance in your town or county. I know where I live that excessive non-naturally occurring noise caused by a neighbor at any time of day that disturbs surrounding neighbors is technically illegal. Normally that means you would notify the police, they would come and speak to the offending party to warn them, and if it continues they get a ticket/citation and have to go to court. I went through some nonsense with a previous neighbor who lived below us and I had to look into it. I would try talking to the neighbor first, in a nice and respectful way of course, before getting authorities involved. They may just not realize they're disturbing your kids. My aunt had a similar issue too- she lives next door to my mother, and my mother's boyfriend would rev his super loud Harley's engine at all hours of the night, waking up her four kids. I mentioned it to my mom in passing, and she felt awful because she had no clue, and needless to say it stopped. Good luck!
@cassloumy Sorry you're going through that Try to focus on yourself and the baby- don't let your dad get you down or make you feel bad about yourself. Some people just deflect their own issues onto other people. Hang tough
@mom2adoodle - i got fred through a local organization that trains service dogs. I believe half of his litter was donated by a breeder to the org, and 3 of the 4 that were donated actually completed the training (the fourth became a "career changed dog," or basically a really well trained pet.) His brother helps a little boy with autism and his sister is a hearing assist dog too!
@mom2adoodleThanks I will look into that. We are close enough as neighbors that I can say something i am just not sure how to approach it. They are in their mid 30s and HUGE partiers so I realize they are just doing their thing but they also know that we have young kids. My husband is more close with him then I am with the wife so maybe I can just put that conversation on him
@cassloumy hang in there and know it's totally normal to feel the way you do
Omg I just watched the 20/20 Mother's Day special "Since the Day I Was Born" and it made me so upset. After being left by my own mother (when I was 10) and being PGAL, I was so deeply affected by this show. I guess I don't understand the mother's reasoning for leaving 3 newborns (on door steps, at grocery stores) to possibly die when she could've registered them for adoption. It's so selfish and careless.
