Why does my dog insist on peeing on the electric boxes that have a big sign that says to not mess with them? They're clearly not going to do harm since they're just out in the open but still. Come on dude, you have trees and light poles and tall tufts of grass to pick to do your business and you pick the one item with a freaking warning sign on it?
Back in Feb my friend had her son at 36 weeks, 1 week after her shower, and I legitimately had a panic attack. My shower is this weekend and DH won't even be back home for at least another week, so kiddo needs to stay put for a little while longer. My carefully planned schedule would prefer 40-42 weeks so I can sell my house and go to the Bob Dylan concert we have tickets to.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
H freaked out and put in our car seat on Sunday just in case (my sister was induced at 37.5 weeks for liver issues and my mom had my sister naturally at 37 weeks). I also ordered stuff for my hospital bag, ordered diapers and wipes from Amazon, and we are picking paint samples for the new house this weekend...
I'm only 33 weeks and I cannot imagine being 36 right now. There is so much to do!
And you guys are still in the middle of your move!! I don't know how you're staying sane!!!

I love that your list of must haves includes a concert
we're going to Garth brooks tomorrow and H keeps telling me I can't go into labor until after that.
So when is it suggested to put your car seat in the car ? Do you have to get it checked with a piece of paper to leave the hospital? Guess I should start looking into this. Ahhhhh!!!!!
Dh is putting our car seat in this weekend, 36 weeks. You know, just in case. I don't wanna end up like my friend who went into labor at 36+4 and they just threw the box in the car

You can do it whenever, but in case of an accident, it'll need to be replaced. I'm 36w and we haven't installed it yet, but this is baby 3, so it won't be a big deal for H to install the base before we leave the hospital. And no, you shouldn't need anything but the actual seat with baby secured to leave. I will say, though, that most seats are installed incorrectly, so please have it checked with a CPST- you can usually find them at a fire or ambulance station

Yup. House closing was supposed to be Friday, but was pushed back and we list next Friday (Friday the 13th!)... so yes, I'm slowly losing my mind with to-do lists and planning
So when is it suggested to put your car seat in the car ? Do you have to get it checked with a piece of paper to leave the hospital? Guess I should start looking into this. Ahhhhh!!!!!
I'm not putting mine in until 36 weeks at minimum. The way I see it, if I go into labor any earlier the baby is going to be in the hospital for at least a few days and I'll have time to install it then. If you get into a car accident with the seat or just the base in the car, you technically are supposed to replace them because they could be compromised so it's not worth potentially having to replace to me.
My hospital does not check the install in the car, it makes them liable if it's not done properly so I'll be bringing it to someone to check once its installed.

No, the hospital will basically just confirm that you have an appropriate carseat, you don't need to prove it was checked or anything. It can't hurt to get it checked but it's not mandatory.
I've been paranoid about going into labor early since my first was born naturally just under 34 weeks. I was so unprepared - didn't even have a car seat yet and nothing was unpacked from the shower I had literally the day before. This time, I've had the car seat installed and my hospital bag in my car for weeks now. Good thing because I freaked out 2 days ago thinking I was in labor, but thankfully it was just BH. 1 week and 1 day until 37 weeks, everything else is just gravy.
1.) I love all animals, cats included, but my maine coon is seriously wearing me out lately. She is 13 years old and she's an AW.
2.) I'll be 36 weeks on Saturday and reality is slowly starting to set in. There is soooooo much to get done before she gets here. I seriously need to get my rear in gear and get stuff taken care of.
3.) My random for today is I just made myself sick on Twizzler bites. I regret nothing.
My cat is in the crib, sniffing the new sheets.... H went to Starbucks and didn't bring me anything
I posted a pic on FB of my cat in the crib and people bugged out! I may have posted about this before, but really. It's an ole wives tale that cats kill babies. Also, I don't plan on letting me cat in there when the baby is sleeping in there anyways.
Very good point about the car seat and accident. If the base was installed and there was an accident that needs to be replaced too right ?! I'll wait til closer to his arrival no need to cause extra stress. I will check out some places that can look at it though since im a FTM it will give me some relief
Glad there is now a new randoms thread I can actually try to keep up with. I can't even open the other one at this point. I just started the 6 dates a day thing and I'm already sick of them but I really don't want to be induced again hoping it helps.

Stuck in box:
One of my cats we used to always find sleeping in the crib with the girls lol.

He hopped in, sniffed for a good 5-10 minutes, sat down, looked at me and then was over it. Lol. He's too fat to jump up there on his own, and I had some boxes pushed against it so he probably used those to get up in the crib.

Well that's great that there are NO places by me per this website. Whomp whomp.

I never clue into what 'date' is being referred to on the first read through.

This is LITERALLY what happened to us with DD2. I was even 36+4. My water just decided to break while I laying on the couch eating a hotdog.

What I did, since I hate waiting till the last minute, is installed the bases in our cars and left the car seat at home. that way you are ready to go (just click it in) but heaven forbid you get in an accident you only have to replace the base.
Since my house isn't finished yet, and the nesting is real.. I'm currently focusing on getting mine and H's cars cleaned out and detailed. I feel as if this is important. We can't transport a newborn in dirty cars, right?
plus side, our contractor said he would have the babies room completely finished in the next few weeks so I can start decorating. I will feel so much better once the walls are painted, we can pick her furniture up from the furniture store and put her crib together. And also having a place to store all of the baby crap haha

I just went to that website and typed in my towns info and we don't have any Techs within 50 miles... bummer
Just got back from lurking May's baby announcement thread, first off -sooo cute! Secondly, some of these babies are arriving naturally at 37 weeks - which of course is giving me a mini panic attack. For me, that's two weeks from now. How are you 36 weekers coping with this?? I still don't have my car seat installed!

Welp. I'll be crossing hotdogs off of my grocery list.....

My mom swears pepperoni pizza put her into labor with my brother at 38 weeks. Not gonna lie, I'm going to be avoiding pepperoni until baby is good and cooked. And then I'll likely be eating nothing but that until she gets here...
I'm so glad alot of the regulars are back! I have a Grandma Shower update for y'all!! I'm going to stop by the shower for 30-45 min next Saturday, only because it's on the way to my neices dance recital and I will have an excuse to leave early. I thought I was going to be able to drag H there but he conveniently scheduled for our driveway to be re done that day...
My awesome MIL has also posted every.single.thing. she has bought DS on FB.. I guess to show how awesome she is?? Literally not one thing is needed.. DS now has THREE ride on fire trucks at this point.(H is a fireman). wtf lady.

OMG this makes me so happy. I can't wait to hear how awkward this is going to be. What kind of gifts do you think people will be giving her? You're not giving her anything I hope! Did she make herself a gift registry? What will the cake say, "Congrats on being an AW!" I have sooo many more questions!
