    WHAT?!?! @ahernandez16, that coworker of yours is a special kind of stupid. A little street smarts, please?! Glad nothing went down, if that guy was planning something. Gah.

    Also, excuse me, what now about the 49ers? How have I missed this? *Off to look up the thread*

    @ahernandez16 is this the same crazy co-worker you have been dealing with? Yikes.  I'm mad for you!  No shirt, no shoes, no service!

    I got into the office about 7am one morning and there was a hobo sleeping by/blocking the front door.  I ran to my car.  We just had found his knife and other things on property the week before.  And he kindly went to the bathroom in the middle of a gazebo on campus and left us a present.   There was NO way I was dealing with him.

    @crdo the "owie" thread.
    Just found and read it. I...um...wow, ok.
  • crdocrdo member
    Her and I clearly have different definitions of "owie"
    HA!
  • @KOR121 we have our fair share of homeless people sleeping in front of the office too. I do the same. I hang in my car until one of the men shows up and tells them to leave.
  • @ahernandez16 WTF is wrong with your co-worker? I would flip out too!

    @Emztron500 he will snuggies with you anytime...

    @samsonator I'm always hungry!

  • samsonator  - yup. A TON. I have no food left and it's 2:39.
  • @ahernandez16 - Your co-worker sounds like she has poor survival skills. What an idiot. What did she say when you confronted her about it?
  • So, I went to lunch with an old high school friend yesterday.  She has an 8-month-old baby who she makes such a huge deal about how she breast feeds because she waited so long to have this baby, she wants to do everything right. I, on the other hand, exclusively FF and will do the same this time. So as she sat there breast feeding her baby, she ordered a mimosa.  I asked if now she has to pump and dump and she said "No, only if you get drunk."  Is that true?  She's the kinda of person that will search the internet until she finds info that supports her ability to drink and not read or believe anything else.  It just seemed kinda crazy!!  Then she tried to feed my 20-month old the strawberry that was floating in her mimosa!!  Yeah, he's good!

    @colesmom33 I believe  the rule of thumb is "if you can drive, you can breastfeed" - basically one drink isn't going to do any harm because the amount of alcohol that actually gets to the breastmilk is minimal, but obviously if you are drunk then the concentration is higher.

    That is good to know!  Since I knew all along I was going to FF, I don't know a whole lot about breast feeding and given she's crazy!!

    She was like, "Well he asked for a quote... I didn't know I could turn him away." She keeps coming into my office to apologize and I told her to drop it, that it was over and everyone is okay but not to let it happen again.
  • @colesmom33 my BFing class basically said if you can drive (legally) that you're likely okay to feed and that one drink isn't going to be concentrated enough to even make it into your milk.

    Thank you!  I'm curious.  Do medications make it through?  I'm just curious.  Do you have to quit taking the same things that you quit taking while you're pregnant?

    @colesmom33 my LC said the best time to have a glass of wine is when you start a session because it takes about 30 minutes for alcohol to enter your blood stream. It always felt funny so I've only done it a few times. Also, there's never really a need to pump and dump because as soon as it's out of your blood stream, it's also out of your milk. So unless you're pumping for relief or supply reasons, you don't really need to!

    ETA: uhh would not be okay at all with someone offering my son an alcohol soaked strawberry! Not cool at all!!!!
  • @colesmom33 not sure, honestly. The only thing she told us was to make sure the doctor knew we were breastfeeding before we took anything he prescribed. So, I think there's some that do and some that don't? I don't think the list is quite as limited for BFing as it is for pregnancy in general.
  • @ahernandez16 Thank you for the info!  I always knew I wasn't going to breast feed for a variety of reasons and then my milk didn't come in anyways.  So I don't know a whole lot about the in's and out's of it!  I'm not going to lie, it's nice to be part of a board who doesn't judge that decision because there is definitely a lot of judgment out there!!

    I believe certain medications do, I know a lot of OTC meds say "do not take if pregnant or breastfeeding."  I've also read posts from women on here saying that they wont breastfeed because of taking certain medications, mostly for anxiety.

  •  I have given my son pickles and cheese from my bloody Marys. But I wouldn't offer them to someone else's kid :wink:

    As for drinking/meds while BF: my OB also said the same thing. If your safe to drive, the milk is safe. and it depends on the meds. Some meds you should not take while breastfeeding, others are perfectly safe.

  • Does anyone have experience with this bra? I am literally down to 1 bra that I like. I will wear a few others but I don't prefer them. The reviews on it look good but with my size I am worried about how much support I would get with no under wire. Thoughts? Or recommendations for a good bra that doesn't cost a million dollars that would fit an H cup.

  • There are tons of medications you can't take while breastfeeding. It's annoying. Right now I'm breastfeeding AND pregnant and I basically can't take anything...all the stuff they tell pregnant ladies it's alright to take seems to be outlawed for breastfeeding. At least all the cold medicine I desperately want right now...

    Mercifully, Zoloft is ok, or else I would be a complete disaster.

    Yum Bloody Mary's! Sounds so good right now except maybe I'm only saying that because I love when they have lots of garnishes. Like a whole salad full, plus cheese, salami and lots of horseradish in the drink.

    Lawd. I want a bloody mary right now. I like mine extra spicy, seasoned salt on the rim, a bunch of olives on the garnish. I'd drink a virgin one, but I'd have heartburn straight from hell. Also, spicy, olivey, iced tomato juice just doesn't have the same appeal as the boozey version. Sad.

    Firstly, the ads being on the app now- not cool.

    secondly, I don't know which thread I was reading earlier but someone said something about a prenatal massage and only having to pay $5 out of pocket after insurance. I've been on the phone the past 2 hours trying to find out if Aetna covers this. The lady I spoke with was less than helpful. She had no idea. So anywho, apparently chiropractic care is covered at 80%. I found a chiropractor with a massage therapist on staff and I think I'll make an appointment for my upper back pain and maybe talk to them about prenatal massage while I'm there. This momma needs some relaxation.
    I have heard of this. Usually when it is covered it's because you have a prescription for it. It is likely your Chiro can write for you so I would definitely talk to them about it.
    I was in an accident when I was pregnant with my son and saw the chiro regularly. She wrote me a scrip for massages but I didn't go until after baby. It was all covered by my auto insurance because if the scrip. I know it's different than health coverage but still the same idea.

  • I'd like the tot onesie. H wanted to nickname this one something about Small Fry or Tater Tot because the school mascot here is the Spuds (don't ask).

    This! We have a restaurant in town that does a bloody Mary bar were you get a glass with vodka then you garnish and mix as desired.  I'm  pretty sure I end up with more garnish than drink. But it's always delicious!
