My fluid is way back up now. Went from AFI 8 three days ago to 130mm (13?). Had an ultrasound but she was fast asleep and didn't move for 20 mins!! They sent me to have breakfast and gave me a lollie. walked up and down two flights of stairs and now having a monitor done. then will go back to the ultrasound. I'm 38+2. Slept like a log
@AmadorRose sounds like we're in the same boat (my induction started a few hours after yours). Trying to hold off on getting any pain mess until I'm further along but these contractions are a bitch
If you're still up for reading - my foley came out about 4 hours after being placed. Pitocin was started 5 1/2 hours ago and my contractions still are not as uncomfortable as the were with the foley. The size of the balls on that catheter...it makes sense that it freaking hurts!
I hope some of you ladies might be of help... I woke up around 1.5 hours ago and I've been having frequent BH since lasting 30-40 seconds every 5-6 minutes. They're quite powerful and I'm not sure if they're contractions. Did any of you STMs go into labor like that?
Yes that's how it happened to me. It woke me up. And they weren't as long as I'd expected but we're frequent. I went for a walk and it tapered down, only to come back a couple hours later with a similar pattern. And when that didn't end I went to L&D and was admitted. I had the baby that night. Early labor contractions to me are the same as Braxton hicks. Except they are actually making you dilate, etc. You just don't know it at the time. So I'd keep timing and maybe move around. If it keeps up its probably the real deal, just early on enough that you can have a couple hours of labor at home before they get closer together.
@elasticheart13 FTM but happened to me last week. Had them for about 2-3 hours and some lasting about a min. I called my OB and she told me to wait a bit longer. So I went to bed and pff! they went away. I was hoping it was the real deal. I was able to speak through most of them and when I got checked 3 days later I had only dilated to almost a 3 (previously 1.5)....oh the waiting game. Good luck and keep us posted!

The majority of my contractions even with induction have felt like what I previously thought were BH. I'd say relax, go shopping, and eat as much as you can while you can. If they fizzle you'll have had a good day and if they pick up, you'll have an awesome day!
So I had a reality check on my whimpyness...last night contractions came hard and fast at 3-5 min apart and when I could no longer handle them we loaded the car and headed to the hospital. I'm FTM so I thought I was having level 7 pain...I was not...I was 1 cm 80% effaced. ..the nurse was so sweet to not laugh at me. They sent me home with the strict instructions to come back when my 7 is actually a 12. Ugh these things are a real bitch! so the contractions haven't stopped and sleep is impossible but hey labor has started! I just wish I was further along so I could partake in the pain meds...I'm not a hero
Dilation check this morning and no progression...soft but still only 1CM. They broke my water, to see if we could help move things along. Pitocin started, contractions are still mild and I'm able to talk through everything still. Hoping that this doesn't take too long from start to finish.
My baby slept through 40 mins of intense prodding and poking by the ultrasound technician she moved a bit and they let me go eventually. they said come back in a week
They've been coming and going all day now, ranging from very mild to painful cramping. I'll keep an eye out on the timing and try to relax. I'm letting DH do the cooking today and the midwife asked me to eat food with carbs to have energy in case I end up going into labor so spaghetti carbonara it is!

Cupcakes have carbs And I can attest they are fantastic when you're waiting for labor...

That's exciting! I bet it's the real deal so eat those carbs up lady!
Since my cervical exam on Tuesday when they attempted one more time to "sweep my membranes" I have been spotting that awful brown blood. Gross right?! Well today when I woke up, after a restless night, I wiped away dark red mucous, all with constant cramping and occasional low back spasms. I have felt some irregular contractions, but nothing too remarkable. Anyone know if this may be the start?! I was told I lost my mucus plug about two weeks ago at the dr.. And not to sound completely oblivious but how do I even know if it's a contraction, or a bad back ache from the weight gain and the baby just bouncing on nerves in the pubic area? (PS, they asked me to induce last visit. I declined because I legitimately wanted to clean my house. Insane!)

Sounds like your bloody show. It may be very soon....and contractions can feel differently for different women but to me it feels like my lower belly and wraps up to the top and it takes my breath away a bit. And they come and go, they can be timed when in active labor.

Just a word of advice from someone who puked A LOT while I was in labor- make sure it tastes ok coming back up....
Doctor switched up plans on me and had a foley bulb put in at 11:00 last night. It just came out and I'm between 4 and 5 cm. Fiancé is still soundly asleep lol. I have no idea how considering I haven't even come close to falling asleep even with the medicine they gave me
Went to L&D at 7 am, 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced with very painful contractions lasting 45 sec every 4-5 min. They had me take a walk for an hour to get things going but no progress so I was sent back home! Managed to get an hour of sleep (waking up every 5-10 min because of a contraction) and now my mom has arrived. I will not go back in before I feel like I can't push it anymore, so looks like today might be baby day!! The back labor is killing me though!
They broke my water about 4 hours ago. I'm between 7-8 cm now. Baby is still high up though Hoping that things start speeding up a little. I'm so anxious. I wasn't decided about getting an epidural but I did about an hour and a half ago and it was nice to be able to take a little nap.

I thought I wanted to go med-free but getting the epidural saved me. I was stuck at 5 cm after the foley for 18 hours, even after breaking my water + pitocin for 12 hours. The combination was too much. But after I got the epidural, I took a nap, woke up for a cervical exam, and was pushing 20 minutes later. And today I just feel like I got punched in the back.
Since Wednesday, I've been getting very painful contractions and period feeling cramps. I'm at work now and I've had steady period cramps for more than an hour with contractions. I'm not sure if it's because I'm sitting behind my desk and I need to lay down or is this it. Watch, it's my stupid body trolling me again.
@pinottoparenthood waiting for the night shift midwife to come and check my progress. I'm gonna miss the midwives I had so far, they were amazing! Laughing gas is what's getting me through right now
Went for my 37week appt and as soon as the doc started my ultrasound she said "Wow! She is low!" and assured me that's a good sign. I still feel she'll be 2 weeks earlier than her EDD so we'll see if she actually comes next week as I expect
Spent an hour today on the NST because I had 3 minute apart, 1 min long contractions all morning... they looked great on the NST but when the doctor probed me it turned out I'm still just 1cm. I'm so frustrated (and UNCOMFORTABLE)
My turn! Woke up about 3:30 am with some consistent strong contractions.. Took a shower and got big sister ready. Daddy came home from work (after he finished his police duties!) got to the hospital about 5:30 and we are 4 1/2 and contractions every four minutes. IV meds until I decide on an epidural. Eh? Maybe. Back labor is super intense. Come on baby boy lets get this over with so we can have a family nap! Lol
Contractions started at 230 am. Consistent at 12 minutes or so. Just laboring at home and hoping they dont stop. With my 1st my water broke initially so this is a new experience.
So contractions lasted until 630 am ( 4 hours) painful , grip the bed for dear life ones.. I had a bloody show then everything stopped.. This is crazy.. Has this happened to anyone?!?
Went to triage today bc my kick counts were a little low... And am currently being induced for high BP out of nowhere! Wtf! Looking fwd to meeting him sooner than expected!
The little one was born at 8:10AM on 4-8-2016, delivered vaginally 9lbs 12oz. I've had a hard time finding time to update everyone. Baby was so large that he's now having a hard time regulating his sugar and has been in the NICU and will be there for the next couple days to make sure he's able to stabilize on his own. His belly was so round that he got stuck at that point on the way out, we thought for sure it would be his shoulders!

I hope that everything is going well with all of the mothers. My love goes out to you all, and thank you for being a great support throughout the pregnancy!
