@kwolf002 I'm so sorry I know that IVF is really expensive, but does your clinic offer any financial aid? For instance, there is a shared risk program at Shady Grove where I go, where it's one price for a certain number of attempts and if it ends up not being successful you get your money back. They also offer financing. I know it's hard to wrap your head around (we didn't consult an RE until I got a new job where we had insurance coverage for infertility). I hope you are able to find a good solution!

msirni0 Yep, I always test out my trigger...its out of my system super fast. I know some people it lasts a lot longer. I think it was out of my system entirely by cd 5. I test out because I don't want false hope about a bfp if its just trigger in me. Plus it gives me something to do in the early days.

Ladies you make me feel sane when I have felt so insane. I have started testing out my trigger because I feel like that's the only way I have control of the next two weeks.

@msirni0 I think bloating and cramping is normal! Secretly I love any kind of side stitch or cramp bc it makes me feel like something might be happening. TMI warning - after my IUI's I always SO constipated. Like, I don't think I went for 3-4 days afterwards! Crazy right? That certainly doesn't help with bloating...
@becauselove last IUI I took a test the day after trigger shot and it was negative. I haven't tried to test it out since. Did I test too soon? (Of course I was all like, "dammit, I can't even get a false positive on these *%%#€£< tests!") I don't want to test now, no matter the result it'll just mess with my head too much.

hbomb513 Hmm I have never done a test out of a trigger the day after the shot. Did you do a progesterone test to make sure you ovulated? Depending on our body size and the choice of trigger medications depends on how fast a trigger gets out of our system. I have heard of people that have had a trigger in there system for 10 day or more. I know when I first started testing out the trigger I thought I might need a higher dose because the trigger never seemed to be in my system long (not on Ovideral or Pregynl) but the progesterone tests say I O'd so that part worked at least.
I had the worst symptoms on Ovideral..I was totally convinced I was prego. I barely have any symptoms with Pregynl.
msirni0 and kelrauh if anyone could see my google searches they would know how crazed TTC makes me. So thankful for boards full of people that understand at least some of what I am going through.

IUI#2 is a bust. started spotting and still negative test result. 13dpiui.... We will be trying one more iui before moving on to something else. Time is not on my side since i'm 42 and my egg reserve is low. Fingers crossed for this next cycle. This process is so draining and heartbreaking. Baby dust to everyone and may our next cycle be the one we have been wishing for.

Im still getting BFN's, and yet getting symptoms- all down to the progesterone no doubt . I am supposed to stay on it until tmw morning and test then but I just feel out now , I'm day 14. I sometimes feel okay about it and eager to get the plan for our icsi but then out of no where I seem to be getting teary today.

In my world...Lots of BFN's in my testing world so far (DPO 10). Hoping that it takes a turn for the positive in the next few days. I was excited to hear that my progesterone test said I O'd and that my numbers were good (and higher than when I took Ovideral last time). I just get so nervous about being hopeful...I haven't been this hopeful about a cycle in awhile. Hope is such a dangerous thing. |

Has anyone else felt major cramping & pain after their IUI? Monday I had my first IUI and I'm super crampy, swollen & in pain. It's mostly mild discomfort but just now after running up the steps it's become pretty painful. I plan on calling tomorrow but was curious if this has happened to anyone else.
@laur1212My IUI's are always super painful, and I usually cramp for a few days afterwards. No spotting/bleeding though. My RE says I can take Tylenol, but I never do. I'm 6dpiui, and I'm still getting the occasional side stitch. I think what you're feeling is normal, but it never hurts to call and ask!
@becauselove I didn't do a progesterone test, but all other signs point to normal O (which I've never had an issue with anyway). I never get any side effects from ovidrel. Funny how different we all are! You're brave to be testing 10dpo - even though I tell myself, "it's early, it won't be positive, it's ok...", I see that BFN and it just breaks my heart. I think I prepare myself, but it never works! FX for you!
I'm getting acupuncture tomorrow, and a massage on Sunday. I'm also swimming a lot (the only exercise besides walking my acupuncturist recommends right now), which helps my head. I picked up a new book, so I'm just relaxing, reading, and taking naps on my days off. Work days are easier, I don't have time to think about myself! How about you?

@becauselove, my RE doesn't do a progesterone test, but I haven't really ever had an issue with O...same as hbomb. We have a super busy day Saturday so that will be a good distraction! We are going to a beer bourbon and BBQ festival during the day, then driving up to Philly for an engagement/birthday party for one or the groomsmen from our wedding. We don't see him too often, so we are looking forward to that.

I am on day 7 of my TWW. (half way there!!!!!!) I tested 4 days ago for trigger and it was two very strong lines. I tested this morning (9 days past trigger) and it was gone. I am so happy for that trigger to be out of my system, I now feel back to myself. Also, feels disappointing because having the pregnancy symptoms gave me some hope that if they didn't go away I would be pregnant.

@BecauseLoveActually, I'm not sure..I think because they wanted to control it? I just do and take whatever they want me to, I figure they have a system and (for the most part) know better than me. My first IUI (clomid only) I told them I usually O early, and that I was afraid we were going to miss it. They didn't listen, and of course, on the day of, I had already O'd. OB was like, "well, you've got two more (a 12 and a 14), I think we should do it anyway!". I let her do it bc I was so hopeful, but looking back it makes me so angry. I think it was unethical for her to do it when she knew I already O'd. That's when I switched to the RE. Whew! Was that a long-winded answer to your question??

Well, tested this morning. BFN. I feel like I'd turn a test by now if I was pregnant. I am feeling so frustrated and defeated today. Each cycle we get closer to the 2 year mark I feel more and more hopeless. I really hate unexplained infertility!

I'm back after being offline for a week! We went on a backpacking vacation which meant backpacking around my injections and giving them in a tent/on a hike/in the middle of nowhere. It was an experience. I'm finally officially in my TWW so, we will see how this cycle pans out. We weren't able to do the IUI since my follies didn't cooperate and grow fast enough before our trip. I'm so happy that we didn't cancel the trip though- we had a great time together.
I am so sorry to hear of the BFN's. I hope all of you are able to start a fresh cycle soon.

Hope it's ok I'm jumping in on this thread kinda late...I had my first IUI in March and am now in the tww (9dpiui). I'm trying not to test until I get my bloodwork done on Friday, I just find it so painful seeing that stark white stick time after time. Occasionally I break down and test though, I may Wed or Thurs to prepare myself. I'm trying to keep distracted and stay positive but it's getting harder and I feel like Friday will be a rough day. Sorry to those who have gotten BFNs
*TW* I just got back from my good friend's baby shower. She also had trouble ttc, and I am so so happy for her, but it is still difficult being around that much baby stuff. I've been to two baby showers in the past 3 weeks and while it ended up being ok and I'm glad I went to support my friends, they are still emotionally draining.

Hi All, Quick question for you. What is the earliest you have ever gotten an IUI in a cycle? I am hoping that my dr will let me do an ultrasound on CD 11 and trigger...with the possibility of an IUI on CD13th. We are in Europe CD 14-24th. Thoughts? I just would love to not have to waste this next month if we can avoid it. I should mention I had a follicle that was 27m on CD 15..this last IUI. Thanks!
Tusername Sounds like a great trip other than the shots...but just think of the fun stories you can tell people. We will be trying one more iui before moving on to something else. Time is not on my side since i'm 42 and my egg reserve is low. Fingers crossed for this next cycle. This process is so draining and heartbreaking. Baby dust to everyone and may our next cycle be the one we have been wishing for.

Im still getting BFN's, and yet getting symptoms- all down to the progesterone no doubt . I am supposed to stay on it until tmw morning and test then but I just feel out now , I'm day 14. I sometimes feel okay about it and eager to get the plan for our icsi but then out of no where I seem to be getting teary today.
Sure its no wonder we go a bit crazy!
TWW ladies, how are you holding up? I tested today 11dptrigger and looks like trigger is out. I will probably test Saturday morning bc I have an event to go to that involves booze.

In my world...Lots of BFN's in my testing world so far (DPO 10). Hoping that it takes a turn for the positive in the next few days. I was excited to hear that my progesterone test said I O'd and that my numbers were good (and higher than when I took Ovideral last time). I just get so nervous about being hopeful...I haven't been this hopeful about a cycle in awhile. Hope is such a dangerous thing. |

@becauselove I didn't do a progesterone test, but all other signs point to normal O (which I've never had an issue with anyway). I never get any side effects from ovidrel. Funny how different we all are! You're brave to be testing 10dpo - even though I tell myself, "it's early, it won't be positive, it's ok...", I see that BFN and it just breaks my heart. I think I prepare myself, but it never works! FX for you!
I'm getting acupuncture tomorrow, and a massage on Sunday. I'm also swimming a lot (the only exercise besides walking my acupuncturist recommends right now), which helps my head. I picked up a new book, so I'm just relaxing, reading, and taking naps on my days off. Work days are easier, I don't have time to think about myself! How about you?

My first IUI (clomid only) I told them I usually O early, and that I was afraid we were going to miss it. They didn't listen, and of course, on the day of, I had already O'd. OB was like, "well, you've got two more (a 12 and a 14), I think we should do it anyway!". I let her do it bc I was so hopeful, but looking back it makes me so angry. I think it was unethical for her to do it when she knew I already O'd. That's when I switched to the RE. Whew! Was that a long-winded answer to your question??
@msirni0That sounds like a good time! Are you going to test that morning just in case? I haven't drank any alcohol since the IUI, but I fully subscribe to the "drink till it's pink" ideology!

@hbomb513 yeah, I'm gonna test Saturday just in case. I haven't really had anything to drink for the past 3 months, but if I get a BFN I will probably indulge. I'm not a bourbon drinker, but they have so much good stuff at this festival. If I get a BFP, then I will be eating tons of BBQ

*TW* I just got back from my good friend's baby shower. She also had trouble ttc, and I am so so happy for her, but it is still difficult being around that much baby stuff. I've been to two baby showers in the past 3 weeks and while it ended up being ok and I'm glad I went to support my friends, they are still emotionally draining.

Quick question for you. What is the earliest you have ever gotten an IUI in a cycle? I am hoping that my dr will let me do an ultrasound on CD 11 and trigger...with the possibility of an IUI on CD13th. We are in Europe CD 14-24th.

Tusername Sounds like a great trip other than the shots...but just think of the fun stories you can tell people. One of the places my husband gave me a trigger was in a parking lot at a target at night...he was convinced that the people that might be seeing us would think we were druggies.
