In much less exciting news...I went to Jimmy John's to get dinner after a very depressing meeting with the tax lady. I ordered an Italian night club for DH and a veggie for me. I asked for extra avocado on mine because I'm all about the avocado these days. I got home, put them in the fridge and, and hour later, discovered that instead of EXTRA avocado, they put exactly NO avocado on my sandwich. You can all guess how extremely disappointed I was. I almost drove back, but the effort to get LO back in the car wasn't worth it. Boo.
@Sporty1216 I HATE that sort of malarkey! There is nothing worse they coming to find out that the thing you wanted, paid for and drove home isn't right. My DH has had the take things back for me on occasion. Epic fail! don't they know not to mess with pregnant ladies!!!
So, yesterday, my so-very-tactful husband tells me my breath stinks when I kissed him goodbye before work. I called BS because I had literally just brushed my teeth... Rolled my eyes and didn't think about it again. I do have sinus issues right now, which can sometimes cause some weirdness, but whatever. I honestly figured he was smelling his own breath. Ha. Then today, he says, "babe, the bad breath thing isn't your fault - I looked it up, and it's a pregnancy thing." Ummm what?!? Now I'm going to be swishing listerine constantly... As if I needed one more thing to feel self conscious about right now, a-hole. I can't smell it, and I swear to you on a stack of bibles that I'm brushing all the time!! WTF? Part of me still thinks he's crazy. Too embarrassing to tell anyone in real life, so you guys get to hear it...
@Sporty1216I love avocado too, so I feel your pain. Also, during the first trimester, I drove really far out of the way to get a roast beef sandwich because it was the ONLY thing that sounded good. When I got home, I looked in the bag and there was a turkey wrap.
@infantino22 that doesn't surprise me. Pregnancy gave me an awful taste in my mouth all through the first trimester and it still comes back sometimes after I eat. (Especially something sweet.) It's possible that the bad taste also came with a bad smell, but DH didn't mention it.

I found a Thomas the tank engine automatic bubble blower at Kohl's today and, after a coupon and sale, paid $1.89. Let me tell you. This thing is like magic to my kiddo. He loves Thomas and he loves bubbles. We are having a very good afternoon.
I want to know about these homemade chicken nuggets, @BernieRae ! Do you mind sharing the recipe? That sounds like a great night. I loved that movie! I cried and cried and cried.
@sporty1216, need to go find the bubble blower, just saw an automatic bubble blower at a play date this week, wish I thought of that million dollar idea, entertainment for days!
@infantino22 yup, the bad breath is a thing and it's actually coming from your gut because of the relaxation of that top muscle of the esophagus. Listerine won't help but chewing gum might because of the saliva generating. The good thing is it goes away! Mine only stuck around for some of the 2nd tri.
I did the pediatric CPR/first aid class today, my breast pump came in the mail, I just finished reading a hypnobirthing book, I ordered a baby book for memories and a book on how to take care of babies, I started working on my registry list and I'm making plans for the nursery, including a mobile I'm going to make. And birthing class and breastfeeding class are booked. There's so much more to do, but I feel pretty awesome right now.
P.S. My handsome husband has been working every weekend gutting and remodeling the bathroom by the baby's room.

I don't know about the shower. My cousin said she'd throw one but so far it hasn't materialized. There has been a bunch of stuff going on in my family recently that is complicating things. My pregnancy isn't really high on people's priority lists right now, which is a bit sad, but understandable.

I didn't end up having my shower until I was 36 weeks! It was later than i would have preferred, but it's hard to be pushy about something like that when someone else is doing it for you... I hope yours materializes, @redheadbride15 , but even if it doesn't, you can buy stuff off your registry and still get a completion discount and other incentives... Still, I hope your cousin or someone else comes through!
I bought my first thing for baby today. I got an Ergo carrier from REI. I used the 20% off coupon and my dividends so it was a good deal. And they're great about returns so no pressure. My husband wants to get everything like yesterday, but I want to wait at least another month to buy anything else!
My kiddo got some duplos for an early birthday present and he has been playing with them non-stop and mostly independently. I would like to marry the Lego company right now. Mama needed *something* this kiddo would do that didn't involve running. Aaaah.
How old is ur son @sporty1216?? We were just at target and I said to the hubs 'I can't wait till wyatt is Lego age so he'll sit still for longer than 1 munute'!
@wyattnash00--he turns 2 on Saturday. These Duplos are seriously like little plastic miracles. I have NEVER EVER in my life (or in his life) seen him sit still this long since he became mobile (unless he is watching a show on my cell phone). I mean, really. Go get you some! It's worth a shot, for sure.
Absolutely! I think my kiddo would have liked them even sooner. I just never thought of it! He is obsessed with plugging things in and such, so I should have figured he would like fitting duplos together! Let me know how your kiddo likes them!
My MIL did the picking--she got him two that are themed around Jake and the Neverland pirates. My kiddo mostly just likes stacking them together though. I think if I was doing the choosing, I would just do a tub of the basic ones. But if he has a character or something he likes, go for that!
So, I've been thinking that I have round ligament pain from my rapidly expanding uterus. In fact, I went to my OB today with my diagnosis already determined (in MY head). Then she poked my pubic bone and I almost hit the ceiling. Turns out I have separation of my pubic bone... already. I teared up and pretty sure my voice was whiny as I said "but I have 20 weeks left." She recommended either PT or a chiropractor, so I'll be hitting the chiropractor as soon as I find one versed in pregnancy. UGH! No wonder it hurts so darn bad when I stand up....

Oh @emsmama15 I'm so sorry that's rough, it's a tough one to have so early from what I know just make sure when you get out of the car, bed ect you bring the knees together then stand up. So not a leg at a time like we normally get out of the car. There are hip support braces you might find that can help or you can be play with supports that lift the belly off the pelvis. And try not to spread your legs under any circumstance- ironic isn't it? Oh man I hope it stays as easy as possible for as long as possible.
I just want to express my frustration with maternity pants. I have been wearing demi panel ones from Gap and have been really happy with them, but in the past week my growing belly has been causing the demi panel to curl over and cut into me when I sit down, which is uncomfortable and makes baby mad. So, today I switched to a pair of full panel pants, and while they're much more comfortable they keep falling down! I'm so tired of yanking them up. There's no winning here. Maybe I'll just wear dresses for the rest of my pregnancy.
