STMs who had their water break as a trickle: did it leave your underwear kind of sticky? I'm playing the pee vs AF vs VD game. I've been cramping half of the night on top of contractions. Each time that I've gone to the bathroom I've noticed that there is a wet and sticky spot on my underwear. I've been drying it up each time I go to the bathroom, but it seems to be coming back.
No, fluid isn't sticky, just wet.
Agreed. Sounds like discharge.
ugh, if discharge was ANY indication of labor, I would've been in labor for MONTHS now.
Seriously. I'm going through panties like it's going out of style. MAKE IT STOP.

I've had to wear liners this whole pregnancy. They have saved my underwear and made it so I still feel clean.
I swallowed my pride a while ago and have been using Poise liners. They seems to work better typical period liners and leave me feeling cleaner despite all the ridiculousness going on down there.
In L&D for regular and intense contractions. Don't know if I'm getting admitted yet or not. Waiting for them to finish evaluating me. I guess I came in right when the doctors are getting off/on shift, so they're having a pass down meeting.
Still being monitored. They're seeing if the contractions are just contractions or if they're actually promoting dilation and labor. If I don't make any progress with dilating, they're going to likely send me home. If I have some progress they'll talk to me about a plan.
My new nurse (changing of the guard) is hoping I'm in labor. I told her that I had issues dilating with DS, so I'll likely need pit to get any farther, so I'll probably go home. She responded with, "don't worry. The next doctor you'll see has small hands."

They're going to keep me overnight to see if things progress on their own but they won't induce me, since I didn't magically jump to a 3 or 4 and I'm less than 37 weeks. I even told them that I had issues dilating with DS. The fact that I dilated half a cm in an hour is actually pretty impressive.
They found protein in my urine but BP was ok. If I do go home, I'm doing a 24 hour urine test. Woo.
They took the monitor off of me while they get things ready for me to move into a room. Thank goodness.
Just in case I forget to post tomorrow; I'm scheduled to be induced tomorrow (4:30am supposedly) I'm having contractions right now, but we'll see what comes out of it.
@fbanke42 Def thinking about you and Vincent right now!
@fbanke42 Ahh I don't know what to hope for! Are we hoping the contractions stop and you get another week or so? How slow was your dilation with your first? I'm sorry you're at such a standstill, how incredibly frustrating. I hope you have some good distraction material.
@Knottie9983816 With my history of really long labor, you'll probably have Jackson before Vincent is born. Contractions started at 4 PM today... So if he does come out, it will be around 1 AM on the 25th? Ugh. No. That world SUCK. Be nice to mom and at the latest be 11:59 PM on the 24th... Save your mother some heartache.
@Knottie9983816 @fbanke42 Good luck to you both! Sending positive vibes for a safe healthy delivery, and fbank42 hoping you progress and they keep you!
I'm feeling a little jealous, I'm due in a week and have zero signs of impending labor. No contractions, no BH, no plug or bloody show, kid is still riding high....starting to feel like I'll be pregnant forever. Don't know if I'm dilated, I'm declining cervical checks. I'll probably go late, but is it too much to ask body for signs to let me know the end is nigh?
@Missingchampagne I had major issues dilating with DS. It took HOURS to go from a 1 to a 2 WITH pit. They ended up doing the balloon to get me from a 2 to a 4. That took ages. 4 to 6 was also long. After they broke my water at a 6, it took 30 minutes to get to 10 and pushing. 1 to 1.5 with NO pit in an hour? Holy cow!

Sometimes signs are more of a hindrance than anything, since it puts you in a false sense of "any day now!" I would rather have zero signs of labor than to agonize over being dilated for three weeks.
I'm at l&d for monitoring, BP was high at my appointment so I'm going to be monitored and wait for my preliminary labs to come back. I'm not ready and really hope this is just a fluke.
I'm 37 weeks today and surprisingly haven't experienced any braxton hicks of any kind. I'm 1cm dilated and 25% effaced. I'm convinced baby boy is enjoying the little hot tub that is my belly right now and has no plans of leaving anytime soon.
@AmadorRose Contractions slowed down a little bit while I took a cat nap, so they took me off the IV and haven't ordered me a second round of antibiotics. The new nurse told me point blank that her goal is for me to go home. Contractions are back up in intensity and closer together again. I guess my body wanted to let me rest a little bit, so it slowed down.
I've pretty much been having continual contractions with intensity spikes. It irritates me to watch the monitor because the lines are higher than they were before.
Bleeding hasn't stopped. I think the midwife was so for me having this kid today that she swept my membranes during my last check.
STM here 37w4d. Over the past 5days I have been having braxton Hicks a lot. My Dr said cervix is closed but soft. If I am getting bh a lot all of a sudden does that mea

I've heard a couple women mention that their midwives or doctors doing this without there knowledge, isn't that illegal, or at the very lease unethical? Aren't they required to ask you?
If I am having all of these BH all of a sudden, does that mean that labor can be coming soon? I appreciate any advice.
Thanks mama's!
Nope. I've been having loads of strong bh since week 23 or before. Now at week 38.5, still have the baby in there. If your a first time mom like me, your likely going to go sometime at the start of week 41. My only consolation is that they won't let me go that long due to GD.

It is completely unethical. If she had asked, I would have been fine with it.

I've been getting a lot more BH too. I think it means labor is coming soon in the same way that being 37 weeks pregnant means labor is coming soon. The way it was explained to me is that it's not a sign either way that labor is imminent but your body is preparing for the labor that will happen sometime. As long as there is no pattern or regularity to them and no pain they are not dialating the cervix so are not true contractions. I've been getting them a lot and want it to mean something!
Labor has stalled so they're sending me home. If I was 37 weeks, they would have hooked me up to pit. Since I'm 4 days shy, they're going to wait and see what happens and (if I make it that long) discuss induction plans at my next appointment.

How do you know she did it?
The exam was really painful (the one before it wasn't) and I started bleeding quite a bit afterwards. The way she moves her fingers didn't feel like just a normal check either. My cervix has it rated ever since.
Just saying its a pretty strong accusation. As we get closer to our due dates, everything down there gets more and more sensitive. I would be very cautious accusing any health care provider of anything ananomously online unless I talked to them first.
Having SEVERE lower back pain and menstrual like cramping. I was perfectly fine a few hours ago and now I'm a prisoner to my couch. No BH or contractions at all. Could this be a sign of pre-labor? And if so, how pre?!

Oh my! I have no experience so can't comment, but wondering whether today's the day? If I remember correctly you are at term, right?
