I've been following this board for the past week. I've been very private in my struggle and for some reason have been hesitant to join the discussion, but am looking forward to the support, encouraging others, and being encouraged through this journey. I'm doing my first cycle with IUI this month (hopefully next week) and have started injectables. I previously have done cycles with clomid and femara without any luck. My husband and I have been taking long breaks from TTC because it's been tough emotionally and financially (since my state does not require fertility insurance coverage and its all out of pocket for us). One week down of the 2ww for me.....how's everyone in the 2ww holding up?? The 2nd week is always harder for me.....
DH and myself met with RE on Thursday to discuss other options since this is iui #5 for us...she wants to move to injectables with iui or ivf....I'm not ready for either;emotionally or financially. My insurance covers oral meds with affordable copays and iui is covered at 100%....injectables will cost around $4,000 a month....not sure about ivf....DH isn't ready to drain savings since "nothing is wrong"....unexplained fertility sucks....

@BecauseLove my IUI was last Saturday! My re office is closed on Friday because of good Friday so I go in Monday the 28th for my beta. When are you testing?

@becauslove yayyy! That's such great news!! So excited for you! I went in for my ultrasound and bloodwork this morning. I had one follie at 19 mm so they told me I would trigger tonight and IUI Monday, then called me later and told me I'm surging on my own, so IUI is tomorrow! We will be IUI buddies tomorrow! GL tomorrow and I will have my fingers crossed for you!!

I wish mn insurance covered fertility anything. This whole proccess has been out of pocket for us.

It sucks to have money be an additional stress on top of all the other ttc crap.

Ale9687 gl on the beta test. That second week of waiting is always a killer for me. My dr. doesn't do betas on me because I live 2 hours (one way) from them so thy just wait to see if I have a bfp on a stick and then I am suppose to call them...no clue what happens after that. Hopeful for you to have good news!

Thanks @BecauseLove, my dr is only 20 mins away from me so going in for a blood test isn't bad. I'm actually going tomorrow for a blood test for my progesterone to see if I need to be on suppositories.

IUI yesterday, went really good.. bloating quite a bit and periodic cramping here and there.. No tww anxiety yet and hoping to survive it before beta. I begin progesterone in another day, crossing it all hoping this was a success!!

Went today for an ultrasound even though it's only CD 10. No idea why she wanted to see me so early. As expected my follies were 15, 17 and 18 so I go back Tuesday. GL to everyone in the 2WW!

I have a check up u/s on wednesday to check my folli growth. Also, everything is set up for my IVF cycle and I got my calendar for it. It's nice to know I'll be diving straight into that if this IUI is unsuccessful.

I'm officially at the end of my TWW. Tomorrow I am to call the RE office if my AF doesn't show up. I have symptoms that could
go either way. I can't believe I haven't given in to at home test! I'm cautiously optimistic.

I had my iui on March 8th.....I've been cramping since that day. Still in the tww, but my Re will only give me progesterone suppositories if I get a BFP. My beta for the iui will be on 3/23.... I'm afraid, and praying like crazy. All the pinchy cramping..has me clueless... I see a lot of us in the tww...GREAT luck and blessing to ALLLL

Kwolf002 I asked about it when I got my ultrosound and the nurse said my dr would get back to me this week if they would precibe it or not. But today when I got the iui I asked the dr that performed the iui about it and she said their office doesn't prescribe it to prevent miscarriage as there aren't any studies that say it impacts things. She said if I really wanted it though that they likely would be willing to prescribe it. Now I can't tell if it's worth doing or not. Did your dr say why she was saying no?

Msirni0 glad yours went well too! Did they say why you had cramping? So good to hear about your dh having a good count. Did you get to see the sperms under a microsope? Are dr let us and it was so cool! We feel lucky mf issues aren't something we are facing. We won't be doing a beta just a at home test. We live to far from the clinic so they don't have me do betas. I will keep my finerd crossed for you! I hope the cramping goes away and the bfp for you is on its way!!

AFM I finished my last dose of clomid on Saturday with minor side effects (holy hot flashes) and I go in on Friday for a couple of ultrasounds and blood work hoping that I get scheduled for my IUI over the weekend!

msirni0 I was just curious what caused the cramping...i thought I might have some...when I didn't...I asked my dr about it and she said that my cervics was open just the right amount and that pain usually felt has to do with the cervics being closed some? The microscope was cool. I feel like I have learned more about peoples bodies then I ever learned in school. FX to you!!!!!

Hi Ladies , it im new here and just wanted to join in here to support each other. Myself and DH did iui wed 16th, we were preparing for ivf but I didn't stimulate as well as they'd liked so we gave a shot at iui since there were 3 mature follicles on my right tube (my left is blcoked). DH sperm count was 8 mil, all went well on the day. I had 2 days of moderate cramping mostly all settled down now although I woke last night with what felt like mild af pains.Im also on progesterone vaginal gel twice a day. Today is day 6 post iui and the first day that I am really feeling the Long wait!

I don't fully know how things work on this as in I don't know how to address specific post by starting with @.....
Anyway I am wishing every well and congrats to those who have been successful

Happy Monday ladies! So excited to see so many ladies having just gotten the iui and stepped into the two week wait. The opportunity to take a step forward is really exciting. Prayers for all of you that your patient waiting will end with a BFP! Prayers to all those awaiting the iui as well. Continue to remain encouraged, hopeful, and relaxed

I am currently 16 dpiui and feeling good. I had my first beta on Saturday and the numbers confirmed the BFP I got at home

I go back tomorrow to confirm that my HCG is rising as it should. My RE wants to watch me very closely for ectopic since my tubes were previously closed for unknown reasons and I had them opened through tubal cannulation. DH and I are beyond hopeful, prayerful, and excited. This really has been a journey order by God and so we continue to trust in all that He has shown us. Instead of worrying that it is anything other than a healthy and happy pregnancy, I am choosing to thankful that I get to experience every little step that I otherwise wouldn't have gotten to if I wasn't under a RE's care.
Thank you all for your well wishes and the awesome support on this board.

@BecauseLove she said they didn't want to support an unhealthy pregnancy and basically it doesn't prevent a miscarriage. It just seemed like a lot of people were being prescribed it and I wanted to do all that I can.

For those asking about progesterone: many ladies i've read hear are using progesterone suppositories due to the medications you may use during IUI/IVF can suppress your body’s ability to produce progesterone and that is what prepares your uterus for pregnancy. Most medical opinions i've had say its more beneficial and suggested to older woman at risk of MC but younger woman should produce enough naturally. So for me I didn't use first two IUIs (i'm 28) but RE ordered it for my 3rd IUI after I asked of its benefits since I have DOR. Consult with your RE if you believe your diagnosis or meds used could benefit from the progesterone but from these boards I see many women taking them esp during IVF.

My re just called and said after my blood work today they want to put me on progesterone 2x a day, I'll be taking it orally though (yay!). She said if I get a bfp I'll stay on them for the first 12 weeks. They didn't tell me my level but I guess it wasn't as high as it should be naturally.

Hi Ladies,

I am excited to hear the BFP and sending good vibes to all of you in your TWW.

I had my mid-cycle ultrasound today. They said that I have 2 mature follies at 17mm and a few that will not mature and my lining looks great. She said that she would like the follicles to get bigger, so we are going to wait to do the trigger shot until tomorrow night and the IUI Thursday, which will be day 16. Is it possible to ovulate before I go there on day 16, even though I was on Letrozole? I am having pains that kind of feel like ovulation pain, but she also said that the follicle on one side was in a weird position and could cause some pain. Is there any way to tell if I ovulate before I go in? This is my first round, so the timing is all new to me. I don't mean to question what they say, I am just nervous to miss my window.

Yesterday was test day, at first it looked negative. I cried and cried and DH said, "babe, maybe you should call the doctor...you did buy those strips on Amazon..." when I went to throw the strip away I noticed the faintest of lines so at lunch I called the RE and they sent me for a blood test. unfortunately, the lab by my office doesn't do stat so I had to wait overnight! I also have two cysts on my right and these progesterone suppositories are the worst! Hoping for positives!

kelrauh good morning! Yes it is possible for you to o early but if the Dr's told you to wait for the trigger shot then your probably ok. You could test on a opk strip to see where you are at in ovulating before the trigger is in your system. Just to be safe we TI on the night of our trigger, did the IUI and DPO1. Fx for you with your trigger and iui!
