Re: Third tri symptoms thread

  • Sorry for TMI but should I be concerned with having too many BMs in one day. Nothing like diarrhea but still very frequent. Definitely not my usual.

  • So this morning I've been having really bad pains downstairs but no contractions or anything. I called Dr to see if there's anything I can do about it, they said to come in. Did testing and they checked my cervix (ouch!!) Everything is fine, just pressure from baby. But what do I do to relieve this pain!? Ugh FTM problems lol!

All I can suggest is lay down as much as you can  :/
  • Thanks @Knottie2891384 guess it's time to pass housework on to hubby.

Same. I'm pretty sure mine is because little man dropped and is putting all sorts of pressure on my colon/bladder, so it's less poop more often

Not sure if tummy has dropped but would explain it and the frequency punches I'm getting on my bladder. I'll have to see with doc tomorrow see if I dropped...idk FTM lack of knowledge. Thanks!

I've been experiencing pelvic pain for a couple of weeks now, my dr said unfortunately there's not much I can do about it, and the more the baby drops I'm likely to feel more and more discomfort. She recommended I wear a belly band to help relieve some of the pressure. The joys of childbearing
  • Boo not looking forward to 6 more weeks of this :/  I will plan on support belt for when I get out of bed! Thank you @Kristenlaurenn
  • @Knottie9983816 I'm pretty sure all that toxin release stuff is not scientifically supported.

To anyone snoring, those nose strips do work! I was snoring really badly until I started using them a month ago.
  • Anybody else experiencing swelling? I know its normal, but my ankles and legs and now feet are swelling g everyday, and its gotten worse. Especially my left leg. I have pitting edema from my ankle all the way up my shin. Honestly it freaks me out to see the indents when I push on my skin. I will bring it up at my next appt on Monday. My bp has been fine, and ive been watching for signs of swelling in my hands and face. I need to stay off Dr Google!!

Yup, same here. I think baby is taking up so much room i have to digest more frequently and quickly since all the organs have moved up

I had that with DD but also had high BP. There was no protein in my urine though so it was never diagnosed as actualy pre-e but they treated me like I had it and induced at 37 weeks. I took salt completely out of my diet at around 32 weeks and all it did was slow it down but I still had to deal with it until 2 weeks after giving birth. My doctor had to prescribe a water pill for me to get rid of it. Let me tell you, that was the most I have ever peed in 24 hrs even when pregnant. I lost 20 lbs in 24 hrs!!! There was such a difference and it was amazing to see my ankles and not have that swelling anymore.

  • Steady Braxton hicks all morning today.  Makes for an uncomfortable time :/
  • STMs, do you notice that your BH contractions are longer this time around? Ever since this kid dropped last week I've felt like my BH have gotten stronger and longer. So, tonight I started tracking them. They happen an average of every 17 minutes and last an average of 55 seconds. That seems kind of long to me, no?
  • The swelling in my feet is getting crazy. I still don't have high blood pressure or protein in my urine so that's good, but omg my feet blow up so bad. I thought they were getting better, it wasn't so bad if kept socks and shoes on all day. But we walked around a convention for a couple hours yesterday and my leg was hurting when we got in he car, like I had scratched it or something. Apparently my feet had swelled super bad in my shoes and the top of the sock was digging into my leg and it was all red. Now I have what looks like a burn above where my sock was. I googled it and it looks like "stasis dermatitis" where the circulation is bad and can cause ulcers and stuff. So, yeah. I suppose I need to be more careful.

You need compression stockings! 20-30 mmHg, put it on first thing in the morning before your legs swell.

@K&Elizabeth This is my 4th. They have gotten stronger and more uncomfortable with each pregnancy. I was miserable yesterday with Braxton hicks all morning and afternoon.  Hang in there.  One more month

Mine were really long and strong with DS, so I haven't really noticed a huge difference. The only big difference now is that LO absolutely hates BH, so he usually has a kicking and punching party when they're going on.

  • Pretty sure I'm feeling hiccups for the first time at 34w5d, if they are it appears DD is already in position
  • Does anyone else feel sometimes like they could push baby out by mistake on the toilet? I'm really struggling in this department!

I don't know where to put this - put for anyone that's had that strep b swab thing - did it hurt? I had mine today and it really hurt a lot when the dr was doing the swab and then I went to pee later and it was incredibly painful. and there was blood in the toilet, looked like more from a period than blood in urine. I wasn't expecting it to hurt or cause bleeding, wtf.

I have worried about that too! Hopefully it doesn't happen! My iron pills are making me take stool softeners lol! The joys of pregnancy!

I have been wearing compression socks which seem to help, my feet feel hotter but it helps with the swelling.... now my hands thats another story! My hands feel puffy and sore and swollen and I have been drinking at least 80oz - 1 gallon of water a day

I thought I was going to get mine done but I came back positive during a UTI I had back during second tri. No swab just a regular pee in a cup test. Doc said she'll use that instead.
  • @Joness11  I've never had that happen.  The doctor here has you do your own. They give you the double ended swab and you go in the bathroom and rub one end on the vag and the other end on the rectum.  I don't think it's supposed to be painful. I would call the nurse and ask

    Same here
  • Sorry in advance for the TMI but is anyone else having a serious increase in discharge? I've started wearing a liner.  I don't recall this with other pregnancies. Dr said it was normal

@dayj11 Definitely! For me its always in the morning when I'm getting ready so I wear the liner then take it off later at work.
  • Morning sickness is back... I thought I was finally done, but I guess only having a month off from nausea is better than nothing.

  • Not really a symptom I guess. But my exhaustion level is through the roof. I love to cook and love to eat, but lately I just don't have the energy to make dinner. DH coaches baseball and didn't get home tonight till 8:00. I start getting ready for work at 9, so he picked up fast food and I ate cereal. I told him I was tired of having to eat.....he looked at me like I grew a second head! Haha! But yeah, Im tired of eating everyday and having to figure out dinner. I just want to sleep all the time.  I'll be so glad when I'm back to normal again!
  • Does anyone else get excessively thirsty through the night? I easily drink 1-2 bottles of water each night and wake up with dry mouth.
  • @Kristenlaurenn yes! I feel dehydrated all the time. I try to drink as much water as I can at work too, but I still feel so thirsty all the time. I drank 4 bottles of water at work tonight and my throat and mouth feel so dry. Its frustrating!
  • @loveymay I can relate to being tired of having to eat. I'm sick of feeling hungry, and having to satisfy that hunger with an actual thought-out meal that will be good for baby (when pre-pregnancy a little snack would have sufficed). Eating has become more a chore than a fun thing.

Lol at liners. Pads, all day, every day. Since about Christmas. I'm disgusting.

I've been wearing a liner for a couple of months now,  (TMI) I was going through several pairs of underwear a day. My dr too, said it was normal. The joys of pregnancy
  • @loveymay  Yes! all i do is drink water and seltzer, I'm up every hour or 2 at night to use the bathroom so I try to cut my water intake off around 7-8pm unless i'm really thirsty and can't help myself. My DH keeps telling me it's the baby telling me that I need more water, however my response to him is that she needs to utilize it then because all i'm doing is peeing it out LOL

About your eating, most of this pregnancy I'm not in the mood for anything. I had my DH go food shopping for the first time this week because nothing is appealing to me and he's been complaining there's nothing to eat in the house. I told him pregnancy and me food shopping just dont go well and if he wants something in particular he's either going to have to let me know or go shopping himself. I feel bad but I now walk around the grocery store and i'm turned off by everything especially meat and nothing looks appetizing enough to buy and make.

Yup liners every day. Dr says its normal. Also helps with those "I think I just peed myself a bit" instances.
  • How often are you ladies experiencing lightning crotch nowadays? I get them all the time now in just the past two days.
  • @Knottie2891384 Been feeling the lightning a couple times per day. Very unwelcome.
