Forgive me if this has been asked in this thread already... there are so many pages to read through.

Anyone have trouble with urine leaking right after you pee? After I go and feel like my bladder is empty, I will have urine dribble out after I walk out of the bathroom. Freaks me out every time, because I wonder if it's my water breaking....plus it's gross. Lol
Panty liners are not just for vaginal discharge anymore. Makes me sad because I hate wearing underwear.
So I have had this for about a month now. I actually suggest using pads for leaking bladder over period style liners. I was using the regular liners and ended up getting a bacterial infection regardless of changing them way more often than recommended. My OB said to try the other kind because they are specifically for urine leakage and they hold it differently than a period pad. They also absorb discharge better to me. @runningwild @AmadorRose
@JulienneNicole Thanks so much for this tip! I've been feeling like I have a yeast infection coming on and I bet that's the reason why.

What were your symptoms of bacterial infection? Is it like a yeast infection? How did you treat it?
Usually, BV smells a lot worse but the only way to know for sure is to go to the doctor. If you think it's BV and it's actually YI, the wrong treatment will make the problem worse.
I used to get frequent YI and I've had BV quite a few times as well. The symptoms are practically identical. Like, I haven't found a discernible difference between the two until diagnosis.
@AmadorRose @knottie9983816 So I was on penicillin last week for something else. Do you think it would be safe to assume it is a yeast infection stemming from the antibiotic. If it was bacterial wouldn't the antibiotic have treated that too. Or maybe I shouldn't be guessing. Lol Next dr.appt is not til Friday. I had planned to use Monistat tonight. Thoughts?

eta There's no smell at all, just the itching and burning like with yeast infection

I got a yeast infection during second tri due to antibiotics. Could be the reason for yours. I just called my doc and they said to buy the over the counter stuff. I just felt itchy nothing smelly or anything like that.

@Joness11  I've never had that happen.  The doctor here has you do your own. They give you the double ended swab and you go in the bathroom and rub one end on the vag and the other end on the rectum.  I don't think it's supposed to be painful. I would call the nurse and ask
That would be nice if I could have just done it myself! I guess the dr might've done some cervix check or something too? The nurse said something like "well the cervix manipulation can cause bleeding." But the pain the pain and bleeding finally stopped the next day so that's good at least.
  • So I've had this bubble above my belly button for most of the pregnancy. Dr said it's probably a cyst that's always been there and is harmless. Now I've got this hard pea size lump right there were the bubble is. Super weird! I go to the dr tomorrow so definitely going to ask about that.
  • Has anyone else had an increase in appetite? I haven't had much of one third tri, but these past couple of days I'm waking up during the night starving.
I've been waking up feeling like I am dying of hunger between 2-3AM every single night. Then after my snack I can't get comfortable and can't get back to sleep. Wash, rinse, repeat. Totally miserable.
  • Holy braxton hicks contractions! I was put on bed rest for high risk for preterm labor around 34 weeks. I'm almost 37 weeks and I swear these BH are awful. It doesn't matter if I'm sitting down, standing up, or if I simply change positions, I get them. Every night they start up and are 1-2 minutes apart for a few hours (my doc aware) before they finally stop. I drink a ridiculous amount of water and do everything the doctor says to do, but jeez these boogers are annoying. Unless they get extremely painful (aka labor), there isn't much I can do about them. So annoying. Anyone else dealing with the same?

Mucus plug is coming out in pieces.   I'm 34 weeks today. Didn't start loosing it this early with the others
  • @Knottie2891384 it's likely a yeast infection after the antibiotics. Just monitor yourself closely if you self-treat - I can't do a full course of treatment without giving myself BV, so I stop a day or two short depending on alleviation of symptoms. Other people need the whole course. Either way, it totally sucks and I hope you get it cleared up soon!
  • Any STMs getting that let-down feeling?
  • Any STMs getting that let-down feeling?
My chest has been aching most of the pregnancy. Any time I hear a baby cry, it feels like the let-down reflex. Over the past week, my chest has started to firm up.

  • @Knottie2891384 I tend to get YI every time I use anti biotics as well, and spend an entire day vomiting while using them. I hate taking them because of that. (I prefer the shot in the ass to taking pills now because I don't have the same issues that way) I do have to use the full 7 day treatment, in the egg form, not the tube of messy cream crap because it doesn't leak out as easily. Everyone has different reactions to individual medications and I'm no different. For me the one day treatments don't do anything, and the three day treatments make everything worse. If I skip a day of the seven day kind it goes away and then comes back with a vengeance. Just gotta figure it out for yourself unfortunately :/
  • Here's a new one for me, I'm so hot all the time! Poor DH is freezing in the house, but I am always dying if a heat stroke. It doesn't help that its freakishly hot here for this time of year (south GA). Saturday it was 86 degrees.  This week it is supposed to get up in the high 80s/low 90s. We should be enjoying mid 70s and breezy weather for mid March here, but noooooo Mother nature decided with 3 weeks left of my pregnancy, it needs to be summer weather outside. I am NOT ready for 90 degree weather yet! I fully intend on cranking the AC down to 69 when Iget home. That is if I ddon't melt into a puddle at work first, ugh!
  • Made the mistake of taking an anti-diarrheal on Tuesday when it got really bad (DD had it too, definitely food borne plus typical 3rd tri GI). Body over corrected and haven't pooped since. I'm dying, but don't want to tempt fate the opposite direction by taking a stool softener...

Eat some blueberries. My sister swears by that method to do it naturally. I personally would rather not go for a month than eat blueberries, but you may not be a weirdo about fruit like me ;)

This has been exactly our house for the past month or so. DH comes to bed and puts more clothes on but even with the ac set at 67, I wake up drenched in sweat.

Lol I don't have one but thanks ;) I got one during 2nd tri thanks antibiotics and luckily been good since then :) I hate the creams and I had wished my Doc gave me the pill instead,

Haha I've been going with the "p-fruit" method (peaches, pears etc) but DH would be thrilled if I bought blueberries :)

  • I'm so lightheaded... I've been taking iron, but it hasn't been helping. The other morning I had to sit in the shower because my head was swimming so much.

Just wanted to vouch for the effectiveness of urinary incontinence pantyliners. These are way better than regular pantyliners/pads at absorbing whatever bodily fluids the 3rd trimester has in store for us. Thanks! @JulienneNicole

Yes! Me! For 5 days straight now. :'( I haven't been able to eat or drink anything without getting the most horrible stomach cramps and having to run to the bathroom a few minutes later.

I just got back from the emergency room, actually. They sent me to L&D to check the baby first (she was fine, moving like normal), I was having a few contractions, and they gave me a saline drip.

The nurse said I wasn't even dehydrated (how is that possible???) and that its "probably" something viral. They told me to take Imodium and ride it out. Thats the only advice they gave me.

My suggestion to you is to try the BRAT diet - Bananas, Rice, Apple Sauce, Toast.

Apple sauce hasn't bothered my stomach at all, and also dry Cheerios seem to be ok, too.

  • I know it was a common symptoms among a lot of us a while ago, but are you guys still experiencing charlie horses? Experienced them for the first time today, along with some period like cramps. Not alarmed since I don't even get contractions or even BH, just wondering. Also sorry this is getting long but is there anyone else whose provider hasnt given them an ultrasound since their anatomy scan? I havent seen baby since 18 weeks and my pregnant friend loves to rub in my face that she gets an ultrasound every appointment, and that it's weird that I dont and she has no idea how I can handle not seeing him. Granted, I'm low risk, first pregnancy and passed all my prenatal testing. Thanks!!!

Every practice handles U/S differently unfortunately. Charlie horses are def still common complaint as far as I've seen around these parts ;) Period like cramping could be an early labor sign. Or you just need to rehydrate and get off your feet, only time will tell. Your friend sounds like a real peach.
  • @Knottie9983816 Thank you!! And yes, yes she is lol

The a/s is the only one my OB does unless you have no idea your dates or something medical comes up. It kinda stinks when you see people with pictures every couple weeks, but it's nice to be "boring" enough to not need more.

  • I've gotta ask dr but I've had a sore on the side of my tongue on and off for a few weeks and never in my life prior.
ive read it can be a b12 deficiency.
    Anybody else experience this?
ive never heard of this issue during pregnancy before. Maybe it's just a coincidence ?

I've had b12 deficiency in the past (not while pregnant) and have gotten a sore on my tongue from it. Normally though I can tell when it's coming on because the roof of my mouth will feel sore/hurt first. Definitely ask your dr.

I've had diarrhea for the past week or more, and definitely way more frequent BM since baby dropped. I just make sure to drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration (and headaches) :)

Every practice is different with u/s 2 of my friends who had the same dr had an u/s every time. My practice only does 3, 8 weeks, 20 weeks and 36 weeks. Being my LO is measuring very large they want me doing another at 39 weeks.  My dr wont do more u/s unless they deem it medically necessary and they also mentioned that some insurance companies have given patients a hard time if given a lot of u/s
  • Is anyone else experiencing nausea? I'm 37+2, baby has dropped, have been having back ache/cramps for over a week, and now I'm feeling nauseous. No throwing up, just a constant feeling of being sick to my stomach. It may help to note that baby is moving LIKE CRAZY and I never seem to have a break from cramps or baby moving.

    Anyone else? Bueller?
  • I have nausea, too. Sometimes it goes away when the baby moves. Sometimes I get it because I drank plain water.

Anyone else feel like pregnancy isn't glorious, it's really just 9 months of bodily malfunctions?
Oh I've been miserable the entire pregnancy so yeah... It doesn't help that everyone I've ever known who has been pregnant made it out to be this glorious thing and they just loved every second of it. Lying bitches...
  • @Kristenlaurenn Thank you!! I had one today (36 week appt) but it was only like 2 seconds long. He only did it because he couldn't get a good read on whether baby was head down without seeing. I was "higher than he wanted me to be." So he couldn't feel it with his hands or whatever
  • As an update on my frequent BM, apparently eating a lot of ryebread for breakfast helps a lot. I finally feel normal again :grimace: I usually always eat ryebread but I haven't bought it for a while as DH does not share my Scandinavian taste buds always so I get bread that he likes instead. But no more! :smirk:

Nausea is back again with me too. My dr said not to be surprised if it happened due to my bad heartburn and with how sick I was in the beginning. I would still throw up about once a week until week 32, I stopped for a few weeks and threw up last week.

@Knottie9983816 I agree, I jokingly tell the girls who tell me how much they loved pregnancy that I don't trust anyone who loved it. It's 9 months of misery and discomfort over here. I'm just keeping my eye on the end result that will make it all worth it.
