You made me lol @Themaritimemama . I loved your comments @mom2adoodle ! I have thoughts to contribute but just don't have the energy to deal with more drama tonight. But my protective instincts are in full force!

@ThemaritimemamaHave you checked your dryer vent? That may be a dumb question but DH and I lived in our house for YEARS before anyone told us we should clean out our dryer vent (the part the goes from the dryer to the outside). Not only can having it blocked be a major fire hazard, but it also prevents proper air flow so clothes never get fully dry. Not sure if that's what your problem is (or if they're dry but the dryer isn't sensing it) but just thought it couldn't hurt to throw that out there!
Related to the dryer not going off, my washing machine beeps constantly. Something has got be off with one of the sensors because it thinks every five minutes, every day that we forgot to push start and beeps and lights up to let us know. It works fine, so I can't justify buying a new one, but there have been many times that I've wanted to throw it out the window.
@PSUBecky23 I agree. It was a civil discussion that I actually found myself learning from. But when the lurkers commented, they used words and a tone that was rude towards previous posters and that escalated things. It was almost like they went back to their BMB and announced there was body shaming going on in the Sept group and others soon jumped in. So odd to me.

My kid has been asleep in his crib for 11 hours. I seriously don't think this has happened since he went through a miraculous sleep phase from 3-6 mo. He will be two in April. Thank God for the video monitor, or else I'm sure I would have been in there waking him up, thinking something was terribly wrong! Please, please let this be the start of a new thing..... Mama would love to sleep.

Exactly. There were those of us who supported the photo and those who didn't but the opinions/statements remained respectful. Then the lurkers swooped in as the morality police and took the fun of the UO thread away. I don't get the lurkers. Stay on your own board. This one has been great so far.
It's casual Friday which means I get to wear jeans (only pants that still fit) and gym shoes! I'm so happy and comfortable. I honestly used to like dressing nicely every day for work but now nope.
@blondie080300and @PSUBecky23- That's what I dislike about lurking. If you're due in/around September and you want to lurk because you don't feel like you have anything new to add or just don't want to write but like to gather bits of info/entertainment - go right ahead! If you're from another Board and come over to stir the pot, that's just so unnecessary. I've gone to another Board for entertainment, I won't lie - But I've never been compelled to add to it because it's not my place to do so. Maybe I just don't find my thoughts to be so profound that I need to butt in. I'm a simpleton.
I'm wearing my first official maternity top today. Found it at Goodwill for like $5. It's so flowing and comfortable I don't feel the need to try and suck my blump in or anything.
I plan on telling my boss today. I have my 12 week appointment Monday and would like to tell my coworkers on Tuesday - he'll be insanely busy/stressed on Monday so I'd rather not wait until then.
Of course, he's in a terrible mood and has had his office door shut all morning. Ugh.
@AnnaS930 good luck! Hope it goes well. I told my boss a few weeks ago (she only comes into town around once every 6 months) and it was very anticlimactic, but I was ok with that!
Thanks, ladies! I was more nervous last time telling him - he's a grouch but a softy underneath, just likes to put up a front/is a troublemaker. There's been some tension in the room lately (waiting for our biggest client to reply to our contract extension) so I'm just trying to feel out the best time.
Y'all. I just can't with the UO thread yesterday. I really want to apologize to anyone who felt offended or thought I was body shaming people who are healthy and fit. That wasn't my intention. I just wanted her to post more about her healthy lifestyle (so I could learn from her) rather than showing her goodies. Everything I said was getting twisted by lurkers. I just have to say that I think Sarah Stage's body is incredible and she should definitely be proud of it, and I wish I had never posted that.
@PSUBecky23@AnnaS930@blondie080300 I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought the lurking was unnecessary. I woke up to that thread this morning, and couldn't keep my mouth shut this time about it. I feel like there is a bond and tone that has already been set with this board. I have no problem with newbs jumping in and joining the board, but another BMB is ridiculous and getting intrusive. There are enough women on here to give good advice and opinions, and many BTDT moms. There's no reason for another board to think they have new and ingenious input to add. I'm ranting now, but it just rubs me the wrong way.
@jhems776 casual friday over here as well, ftw! I put on my maternity pants and a baggy shirt woohoo. I dont care if I look like a bum, I'm going to hide in my work cave and revel in not sucking in my blu
@TheTamedShrew- Your apology isn't really directed at me because I saw where the post was coming from and didn't see it as body shaming. But I think you're good - it's frustrating to be misinterpreted/have words put into your mouth. I understand the wishing it was never posted, but life goes on.. I wouldn't waste too much time regretting a Bump post!
I'm also really liking this group. I have really high standards after a great experience with April 13 so happy to see them being met, thus far. (Insert puppies and rainbows and all things nice.)
Yeah I was going to stay out of the UO thread yesterday in hopes people would let it go but I can't stand bullies and that's what I felt started happening. Especially when the lurkers started saying we shouldn't tolerate X on our boards. That just set me off inside and I had to politely add my 2 cents.

And maybe that's why I do like threads like UO or FFFC.. they can tear apart a board, but they can also bring them closer together. It's hard for me to remember who wrote what in a Randoms thread, but a lot of names are starting to be familiar to me, and when I see that the most recent poster was one of those names it's like "ooh! I gotta see what she has to say about this!" I like chances to go a little deeper than the cravings we're having.
Although.. those cravings threads also stick with me in other ways. And if you're someone who bragged about Wegman's cakes and has yet to ask for my shipping address - don't think I've forgotten.
This is off (current) topic, but I had a dream last night that I was at a party with a buffet that was serving roasted baby horse. I was disgusted and bypassed it, but still filled four plates of food from the buffet.
Can we all agree to abandon the UO thread and just let it die off? Seems like the lurking will continue and it's just beating a dead horse (reference to @camichael84's buffet dreams). Seems best to just let it go
I showed my husband the UO thread and he laughed. LOL. Oy vey.
Edited to add: @TheTamedShrew I didn't mean to be rude in my last comment on that thread. I just don't want you thinking you have to keep responding to those same ladies who make the same comments. No need to defend yourself around these parts
All we are looking at a daycare today!!! They go ridiculously fast
here. We already had one place we were thinking about tell us they
couldn't until our baby was 6 months. This one is right across the
street from us and where DH went as a kid. He's so excited to check it
out - it's adorable. It's definitely something we need to get on right
away, but it's so weird that at 10 weeks we're picking out a daycare
when most of our family and friends have no idea we're pregnant!
And I was debating going to Wegmans after work today. It's pretty much happening and a cake *might* end up in my cart. We're having guests tomorrow so this is totally acceptable, right? (even if said cake is maybe missing some pieces?)

If you're having guests, you should pick up an assortment of cookies, spinach artichoke dip, goodies from the Mediterranean Bar, fancy cheese, buffalo chicken meatballs, and stuffed mushrooms. Then you can keep the cake for yourself.
