@LakeR2014 with DS, we started looking at daycares at 20 weeks and there were wait lists at 6 of the 7 places we looked at. We had to start him at the 7th place and moved him to our top choice after 3 months. This time around, we decided to tell daycare right away to avoid wait lists. It didn't work - we got wait listed. We love our daycare, but it looks like we will have to send this LO to a different one.
ugh @marajay6- that's one of my fears - we really like our daycare and are hoping to get this one into it as well (it's a good sized center with 4 age rooms, so hopefully an infant can move up to the toddler room to make way if things are tight). I refuse to have the kids in separate daycares and really don't want to start over
The daycare shuffle just suuuuuucks. It's so stressful.
You guys are reminding me how behind I am on figuring out what to do from 6 weeks - 18 mo. My youngest (3) is in an absolutely awesome Montessouri school and I'm already talking to them about getting new baby on the waitlist, but what do I do in the interim? I'm going to have 3 kids in 3 different schools.

Ah I've been procrastinating daycare. I even know the daycares around here almost always have a wait list. We wanted to wait to we heard that heartbeat, well that was a week ago, next week we are signing up. If we don't get into that one the next best is not in a convenient location.
@marajay6 Ugh!!! I hope one opens up for you so you don't have to put them in two different daycares. Thankfully the one we're meeting at tonight thinks is awesome that DH went there and we're thinking of sending ours there so they're 'reserved' a spot for us. Otherwise the next closest one we're 'ok' with would be super out of the way for both of us.
@PSUBecky23Ooo the Mediterranean bar! Have you ever had the bruschetta?! I love it from there. It's my go to app for a party. Grab a container of that and grab a loaf of the skinny french bread, cut into thin slices. I take that home put my oven on broil, lay the bread on cookies sheets and brush with olive oil, sprinkle with black pepper and garlic powder and then toast in the broiler on one side, and repeat on the other. Takes a total of 5 minutes and always the fastest to go and sooooo freaking delicious!
Ok, next week we are getting our butts in gear and telling daycare. We have a favorite worker in the Infant Room, so I'd like to tell her first. Maybe we'll send Emmett in his "Most Awesome Brother Ever" shirt that we bought him and just drop him off without a word. That might be fun!!
@blondie080300 It really depends on where you live. In some places, daycare fills up super quickly. In other places, you don't have to worry until much later. If you do not know how it is in your area, call a couple places and ask.
@blondie080300 not all areas have waiting lists. I had no issues getting my daughter in our first choice as an infant and we moved right after she turned two and had no issues again. I hope that's the case for you.
My kid has been asleep in his crib for 11 hours. I seriously don't think this has happened since he went through a miraculous sleep phase from 3-6 mo. He will be two in April. Thank God for the video monitor, or else I'm sure I would have been in there waking him up, thinking something was terribly wrong! Please, please let this be the start of a new thing..... Mama would love to sleep.
Were you in the April '14 bmb? My youngest is two in April too
yay for 11hrs sleep. I'm jealous.

Our daycare has a policy for siblings to get preference for this very reason... I don't think I could ever have my kids in two diff centres! I hope the daycare search is kind to you all

I was a dirty lurker on April 14. Haha. I sorta jumped in toward the end, but things slowed down to a dead halt shortly thereafter. Glad to be more active this time. I learned SO much from the board (and had good entertainment too). This time I felt like I wanted to actually contribute to all of that. Can you believe how fast the two years have gone?! It's crazy to me.
Sooo....I decided to do some research and found 2 of the lurkers from yesterday's UO thread in the July BMB. I did not, however, find any posts or threads where they announced to come over to our Sept BMB. That is all. Lol.

I'm in the will have a 2 year old in April club! I wasn't part of April '14 though because he was due in June. But for reals, the past 2 years have flown by.
They're probably in a private group together because the people that would "love" their comments were from the same board @blondie080300 It was probably a PSA there.
@blondie080300 I suspect they have a private group on here. Since it's now twice been mentioned that's what we should do of we don't want lurkers. What I wonder is if they do this on every BMB or are they singling out S16? If it's the former, we can't have been the first to tell them to butt out. But on that note, I'm now done giving them my time.
@Themaritimemama Deciding whether laying down is better because it helps my gas bubbles, or sitting up bc it's better for my heartburn. Also craving a shrimp po'boy. Crazy night over here!
I totally missed the whole UO thread entirely lol- I was too tired for life last night, but I think I'll just steer clear of it now that I see all the comments on here about it. No need for any extra aggregation! Besides, this thread is awesome
8w2d today and I just noticed that I've had a little bit of dark spotting. Praying its a one time thing and everything is fine. I never wished away a weekend so fast but I have an appt Monday morning
edit: thought I posted to symptoms thread. Sorry about that
About the UO thread, I read most of it until it got really ugly, then I just didn't have the energy anymore. Yikes, why must some people stir the pot for no reason?
Also, I haven't even begun to think in the realm of daycare yet. I feel so behind on everything, I have no freaking clue what I'm doing.
@TheTamedShrew oh goodness, I remember watching the Red Wedding scene when we were first starting TTC (we caught up late on the series before last season), and that scene broke me. I was inconsolable! I cannot imagine watching that while pregnant.
If I remember correctly, @SarahMConnorswrote something about how she finally read the UO thread and it made her mad. And she loves our Sept. BMB. That was the jist of it. I am sure there was a swear word or something directed at the lurkers that got her comment removed.

After reading the unhealthy mama check in, I have come to the conclusion that where I live (NS, Canada) has zero delicious restaurants. Why no Cheesecake Factory or melting pot?! #thestruggle
