True story - I got to see a live taping of Jimmy Fallon this past summer. We saw the episode with Arnold Schwartzenagger? (too lazy to SC, sorrynotsorry) and then at the end they had a "surprise" guest who was on an upcoming episode but his schedule changed so he had to tape it early. In walks Mark Wahlberg. BEST SURPRISE EVER!
@diagonalley I saw him perform in 2002 when he went on a college tour for his CD (it was musical comedy). He was apparently out at the bars afterwords, but I was unfortunately 18 at the time. When Indy hosted the Super Bowl in 2011, he taped his show here for a week. It was the only time in my life that I was living further than an hour from Indy, and found out about it too late. DH tried to get tickets, but it didn't happen.
@camichael84- Not surprised he was out at the bars after, sounds like that's where he spends the majority of his time. I'm definitely a Jimmy Fallon lover, but have read a few articles that the job of a late night host can be pretty detrimental because of the super busy schedule. Hope he takes good care of himself (and his family!) He sure is one funny guy!
@AnnaS930 To be fair, he was in his 20s and not married at that time. Not saying he hasn't continued with that lifestyle, but at the time I never gave it a second thought that he was out partying.
@jhems776If you do give into temptation when your Doppler arrives, just keep reminding yourself that you might not find anything on the first try! And if you do, it'll be a nice little surprise! Good luck!
My random is that I'm back at work today after a long weekend in the Wisconsin Dells (at an indoor waterpark) with my family. It was an awesome trip! DD LOVED everything about it and it was nice to get away and spend time with my sister, brother in law, niece and Mom, too. I was MIA from the Bump because we were just so darn busy and having so much fun. So now, here I am at work...with SO much to do...but nonetheless catching up on the Bump. Naturally.
@JennM205- it's like I was reading your mind! I was just looking at an indoor water park/resort in NH to take my little guy to in March - we need a break from the cold, would be nice to have a little close trip... maybe even just a hotel with a heated indoor pool if we can find another attraction to go to! Sounds amazing - Emmett LOVES the water, we swam all Summer and can't wait to get his water table out of the box for this summer.. though that feels like a looooong ways away in this 20 degree weather!
I am going to lose my shit on my husband. Part of it is I have zero control over my emotions, part of it is that he's just being ridiculous. We are trying to get our house on the market. And by "we" I mean, "me", and most of it is doing stuff myself or having meltdowns when he doesn't do the few things I ask him to do. I know you're busy too, but I'm leaving my job, starting a new job, arranging all this house shit myself, caring for our toddler, and oh yeah, pregnant with twins. Get your head out of your ass. If you have time to text me dumb shit you find on reddit you have time to call a realtor.
I bought toaster strudels for the first time in my life and now I don't want to eat REAL dinner.... I would totally just eat them if i wouldn't have to share with the kids... So I must wait

Toaster Strudels are my JAM. They are absolutely my favorite food....Maybe you can enjoy this box by yourself, and get another before your kids notice?

Oh, I'm eating the whole box. They didn't notice I bought them. It was just a struggle to wait and eat real food before! I might have to share with husband though
ETA: I think I've only ever eaten one, so I'm pretty stoked. Haha

I'm having a bad day. And now I just checked on a pair of brand new James Jeans maternity jeans I bought on eBay to find out they were delivered today...all the way across the country from me (to someone else, clearly).
I don't even want a refund, I want those jeans. I was planning outfits around them. They're exactly what I wanted and in my size at a reasonable price. And now I not only don't get them (unless something miraculous happens and the seller gets them back, in which case I'll have to wait who knows how long to get them), but I have to deal with the hassle of the seller fixing things since they're the one who messed up.
Pregnant rage is happening. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, but I'm feeling the fury of a thousand suns right now.
ETA: Phew, turns out it was just a post office error. The seller lives in the city where they were "delivered" and they were just scanned incorrectly at the PO and are actually on the way to me. Now I feel bad, even though I was polite to the seller.
@marajay6 my son had at least 5 ear infections in his first year. We had tubes put in a month after his first birthday. He's had them for about 6 weeks now with zero issues (literally was in recovery within 7 minutes of him leaving the room to head to the OR). He's had some congestion and it hasn't settled in his ears, it's a miracle. Also, if he does get an infection we will see drainage so we will know and can treat with ear drops versus oral antibiotics. I'm super happy we pushed for tubes. This is a novel but let me know if you have any questions!
@marajay6 Have you tried a chiropractor? I've heard amazing success stories around adjustments and chronic ear infections. Sorry your DS has had so much trouble
We announced pregnancy on FB last night after 12 week appointment, and announced this morning at work (by bringing in 2 dozen donuts and inviting others to join in on our excitement and my cravings). Best idea ever. 1 donut down, definitely having more.
Loving the BellaBand, so nice to be able to wear my pants again. The only thing is I think my pants were nicely squishing in my blump and now I look like I have a six month bump.... I am almost scared to tell people because they will assume I'm waaaay farther along than I am.
I went to bed at 6:30 last night. Between nausea and being tired, I couldn't function. Thank God for DH. He gave DD a bath and put her to bed while I slept.
Here's a rant.. feel free to scroll on by unless you're trying to burn up a few minutes of down time.
I have a coworker who is 6 weeks pregnant. She is traveling to Mexico in March. I am going with the CDC and not planning to visit any Alert - Level 2 or higher areas (not that I had a trip planned). My OB completely agreed with that, their office policy is to encourage no travel to Mexico and below at this time given the lack of knowledge about Zika virus. This coworker says she knows all the stats and her resort has been treating for mosquitos and she and her doctor agree there's no risk to going. After discussing this with my OB, her words were "Your coworker sounds selfish.. and her doctor is an f-ing idiot" (I LOVE MY OB). Microcephaly is a lifelong condition of varying levels of debilitation. Why take that chance for a week in the sun? I just can't comprehend that... the possibility makes me cringe.
So I've tried to keep my mouth shut and just say a few times when it comes up "you keeping an eye on CDC recommendations?" She just messaged me saying "I'm safer in Mexico than I am in the US! There's all kinds of Zika here."
Ugh.
And went on to say "Well Americans are stupid and it's all sexually transmitted so I think I'm better of there."
Ugh. Ugh.
I said pretty simply "Human to human contact is only sexual, so as long as you aren't having sex with strangers, I don't see any risk to you of having infected individuals in this country at this point. And also, all cases have been acquired during travel, no one has so far been bitten on the continental US and been positive for Zika, so I think that's promising for our safety here."
I totally get that every pregnant woman chooses her own risks, this one is just really really irking me. This the girl who side-eyed me for tasting some raw cookie dough in an absolute brain fart moment forgetting I'm pregnant.
End rant. Wish I had some cookies for anyone who read that.
@jhems776 Yes! I'm so nervous to tell my boss that I'm pregnant. I have a feeling he's going to say, "I've known for months," to which I'll reply, "Yeah, well I'm only 12 weeks." This bloat!

#1 most hated unsolicited comment during pregnancy: "Be sure and get plenty of rest now, because come August you will never rest again."
This was a comment on my facebook when i mentioned trying to be productive today while DD was at preschool. Meanwhile I'm practically crawling around my house from pregnancy fatigue this afternoon, while incessantly being berated and/or tackled by my toddler. As if i could sleep for 9 months straight and that would somehow make up for the lack of sleep with a newborn and a 3 year old. There are so many curse words going through my head right now.
@AnnaS930 -- good for you for saying something! I hope everything turns out fine for your coworker, but dang. I can't imagine willfully risking it.
@tamedshrew -- I hear ya! Plenty of people said that to me when I was pregnant with my first (and they were right), but now that I already have a toddler running around, that's a crazy idea! There is no rest. Ever. Unless kiddo is asleep and then I do try to rest more than I would have before. But still. Sorry you're getting that comment!
@TheTamedShrew I feel ya!! Mine least fav comment lately happens when my kids are fussy: "You sure you're ready for another one??" Or "Better get used to that constant crying!!" People are so rude!
@AnnaS930 I don't have anything to add other than I agree with you. No amount of sun and beaches is worth risking my baby's health. Also, there are plenty of beaches here in the US that isn't in the Zika range. She might have to wait for it to warm up some, but a small price to pay to insure the health of your child.
@TheTamedShrew What I hated about that comment with my first was that I had insomnia with her. Look, if I could have slept, I would have. Turned out, she slept really well pretty early on, and I ended up getting better sleep after she was born. Not expecting that again, but I don't need to be reminded that I'm going to get a lot less sleep in 6-7 months.
@AnnaS930 UGH I feel frustrated FOR you! I wouldn't risk it either! She sounds pretty ignorant, honestly. If she contracts Zika, she has only herself to blame. DH would never go for a trip anywhere near any place that is even remotely close to where Zika is present in the mosquitos! He worries if I walk outside when it's icy at this point lol!
@TheTamesShrew I'm already getting those comments too- when people who know (which isn't many) ask how I feel and I say I'm tired, napping much more than before and they always jump right in with that same dang comment. So annoying. As if them saying it suddenly enlightens us to a previously mysterious and unknown fact. Oh and I get all kinds of comments about my boobs. They were already 38DDD previously, I lost 38 pounds and they went down to 36DD, and now they are growing again like wild. People have already been saying stupid things like "oh my GOSH your boobs are going to be SO HUGE, like EVEN HUGER than they already are! WOW!" SO hard to not just punch them in the face! Wait till I start to show, I'm going to get the comments about weight too, since apparently that's also everyone's business.

@JennM205 A friend knew we were TTC a while back and asked my DH if I was 4 months along the other day. I wanted to go hulk!
That "sleep now" comment makes me NUTS. I haven't heard it yet but I read it on a comment on my friend's facebook status when she announced her pregnancy. What is wrong with people? I am not sure if I can hold back if and when I hear it for myself.
Speaking of sleep, I am DREADING the day I can't sleep comfortably on my belly. I think it's my #1 issue with being pregnant. Plus, I lend my SIL my snoogle(?) and I don't know if she still has it.

My random is a rant too and I realize this is a bit petty. My BIL is a dip****. Today, he decided to leave a nasty comment on a facebook post of mine. I countered his comment with a well thought out response (ok, i destroyed him actually). So of course, SIL who is also DHs twin sister called him to complain and now I am in the dog house. I didn't even start it. Am I not supposed to defend myself when someone tries to start an argument for no reason?

I cannot sleep anyway other than on my stomach. Last pregnancy I never stopped sleeping on it. I would wake up in the morning and my stomach would be so lopsided where my son was pushed over. I felt horrible, I wasn't aware what I was really doing. But it's the main thing I hate about pregnancy also.
To add to the annoying sleep commentary, I really hated the "sleep while baby sleeps" advise. Great idea, but I'm not a napper so I can't fall asleep during the day. Wish I could, truly. I think I took 1 or 2 naps during the day when DS was a newborn.
