@blondie080300@Tennis11785 I love Southern Tier Pumpking too!! I love all things pumpkin lol, but Pumpking is quite yummy. This one is Imperial Pumpkin Ale made by Long Trail Brewery in VT. I go there a couple times each year, it's about 5 hours from my house, and I always stock up. I told him, if he has asked me I would have pointed out I don't want those beers drank. DH has never been a craft beer guy- he is always bud light for the most part. I bought him a beer he liked for V-Day, I'm blanking on the name, but it has a monk on it and gold foil on top, and he had the beer and decided he wanted one more. I didn't realize he opened mine until I saw the little Long Trail lid on the counter. Oh so mad. I forced him to drink the whole thing lol- and it's a 22 Oz beer that's VERY strong. He wasn't feeling so hot this morning, so there was a little karmic retribution lol. Poor guy, he didn't know how important those were. He was saying "I'll replace it, I promise" and I had to point out it can't be replaced. Long Trail has another rare beer I've had one of and am now hunting for- their 25th anniversary ale- it's brewed with Bourbon. Need I say more? Lol!
Catching up this morning - I do 90% of my bumping from work - and had yesterday off since daycare was closed for the holiday.. so here I am (at work) scrolling through notifications and threads trying to catch up.
I'm not a beer drinker, but living in Maine we have a lot of great breweries in my area - and my best friend lives near Hill Farmstead in Vermont, which has some of the top beers in the world. Maybe someday I'll be into it, but just not my thing!
@SarahMConnors - oh i can only imagine how annoyed you are (if its anything like how annoyed I'd be!) That's a good pumpkin ale! The 25th anniversary one sounds like its right up my husband's alley. He loves that stuff.
I also like the Shipyard Pumpkin. We usually try and stock up with a case at the end of the fall to get us through the winter. We forgot this year, but I guess I don't care for this year.

I had my first (memorable) pregnancy dream last night. And it was WEIRD!
DH has been searching for a new job closer to home (currently commutes 2 hours each way) and had a fourth interview with a company last week. After the interview, they basically told him an offer would be coming his way this week.
So my dream starts with an older, gray-haired guy lying in bed with DH and I (supposedly someone from the company, delivering the offer in person). He tells DH what the offer is and it's a little low compared to what he's making now. DH rolls over to tell me that he really, really wants this job despite it being a low offer. I tell him to tell the guy to bump it to match what he's making now (which would still be a "win" for us in saving DH's commute cost) but the guy won't budge. So I jump into the conversation and plead our case for why DH can't take a pay cut, blah, blah blah and tell the guy if he can't match, it won't work. So he decides to not only match but increase it $5K. To which I respond, that would be nice. THEN, we all "go to work" (apparently, DH started that very day and I somehow was starting a new job with him at this company too). We get there and everyone who's in orientation are people I knew in high school. The company representative tells everyone that I'm a master bargainer. DH and the other guys who were hired for the "actual" position go off to start training and the wives / SOs get separated to their new jobs. Mine was wine tasting / human hair extension product testing. (What!?) After I finish my work, I leave and run into my sister in the hallway, coming out of a yoga studio. Apparently my BIL also got a job there and my sister's new job is yoga.
So, yeah. Without a doubt, most definitely my first pregnancy dream this time around. It sure was interesting...I hope they continue this way. I'm all about the entertaining dreams - not so much the nightmares!
It's snowing like a mo-fo outside (2-4" every hour). I was expected to come to work in this. (I did.) The county offices are closing, the roads are a mess, and we're at 10" already. I'm beyond pissed that none of the higher ups are even discussing letting us out early, but our home branch in MD got to home two hours early yesterday for 2". I mean I know we're more used to this stuff, but even at this frequency, send us home!
@camichael84and @KimmySchmidt- 2 nights ago I put my 1 year old in his high chair and gave him a decent dinner (veggies, cottage cheese, chicken) then hid around the corner while I gorged on tostitos, salsa con queso and peanut butter M&Ms. It was glorious, and he loved the game of peekaboo when I would peek around the corner to be sure all was going well with his dinner.
Then I had leftover pizza with my husband when he got home 1 hour later. 2nd dinner.
I just hid the kitchen while I ate a poptart so I wouldn't have to share it with DD.
All. The. Time. DD is so stinking clever I even have to be careful after eating something without her. If I have a piece of chocolate and it's not fully swallowed, she can SMELL it! She'll say, "Mommy, what you eating?" When I tell her nothing, she leans forward, sniffs my mouth and says, "You eating chocolate?" She does the same with popcorn, DH's "spicy chips" (Fire Doritos) and anything minty. Seriously?
I'm seriously so sick that I'm rarely on TB and when I am, I'm too lazy to comment. I'm still here ladies!! 11weeks pregnant so hoping second tri treats me better!
I love all the talk of sneaking yummy food! I am living vicariously through you all. I've had a nasty stomach bug causing diarrhea and that, compounded by nausea, has left me with no desire to eat. Which is pretty much the opposite of normal me. I want to WANT to eat so badly!
@JennM205 your dream cracked me up! I'd take that over my rage dreams any night. Seriously, why am I so angry in my dreams? It's like a few times a week where I'm flipping out on someone. DH says I am actually more calm and level-headed since being pregnant though so I dunno why my dreams are the opposite. And I have only cried twice that I can remember too and they were at sad things like an argument and forgetting my pup's 12th birthday.

*rant alert* My usually all night sleeping DD woke up 8 times last night. 8 TIMES! @PSUBecky23 I am now feeling your pain with the toddler bed transition. Every time it was because "mommy i need you", which stopped being adorable after the fifth time. I tried everything. Gave her sips of water, took her to the potty, sang to her, tucked her AND her stuffed animals back in, even brought her into bed with me and DH. I lost my cool at one point and tried shutting her bedroom door on her and told her I wouldn't open it until she laid down in her bed which resulted in her feeding off my obvious frustration and letting out piercing screams and throwing a full fledged nightmare tantrum. She woke up every 45 minutes from 1:30 until 5:00, and then was up from 5 until 6:30 and I finally burst into tears and had to get DH to tap me out. Of course she had to be up at 7:30 to get to mom's day out on time, and now of course my non-napper is taking a nap and it's 5 p.m. and she probably won't want to go to bed until 11:00 now. I am the walking dead today. How is it possible that I am still this freaking tired and I'm at 12 weeks already? When does the misery end??
@TheTamedShrew Oh man the torture!!!! My DS recently decided to boycott naps and I am HATING it. I usually would get somewhat of a break when I'd come home from teaching all damn day, but no more. Hello 7pm bedtime! It sucks for DH because he's up late doing paperwork and DS is up at the crack of dawn now, but I guess this is the beginnings of toddlerhood... oh frieking joy. And I'm almost as far along as you (about 11 wks) and have yet to feel relief from this fatigue. Hang in there girlie!
@thetamedshrew I'm so sorry. Toddlers are such a giant PITA. My only advice is, as long as she's not crying, let her go. My daughter has spent many nights sleeping on the floor. I move her to her bed if it's before I go to bed. Otherwise, if it's just toddler trying to delay sleeping, I'd ignore her. Good luck.
@Tennis11785 I like Shipyard as well. I literally scavenge for all pumpkin beers and stash them usually. DH typically doesn't like them, which is why I was so shocked to see him drinking it- especially a rare one! Had it been one I can buy any fall I wouldn't care.
Poor DH got a little karmic retribution though- he rarely drinks these days, and he was never a craft beer guy- he's a Bud Light man- so my big 20 oz heavy and super strong pumpkin beer that he snatched didn't agree with his stomach today. I feel bad, and a little satisfied, at the same time. I feel like pure evil! These hormones are nuts!
What an afternoon!!! I had my first doctors apt, everything went well. Went down to lab and had my blood draw, that all went well. Then I went to meijer to grab a couple things and pick up my prescription. As I'm standing in the line to get my script I start feeling very warm, take off my coat. I stepped up to the counter to get my script and told the lady I didn't feel well and needed to sit down. Next thing I know I'm laying on the ground and a guy is taking my pulse yelling for an ambulance!
I came to and told the guy not to call anyone and I just wanted a min to gather myself. I had completely blacked out and fell to the ground! I think it was a mix of not eating for a while, so low blood sugar, being over heated and having my blood drawn. But man was it scary. I didn't end up being checked out and by that time my doctors office was closed. After some orange juice, water and rest I felt OK to drive home. But man what an experience. Thankfully I feel fine now besides a dull headache from hitting my head.
i just got the toddler to bed and feel like I have a slight appetite for the first time since Saturday. Tucking myself into bed with cheesy tv, a snack pack of tapioca pudding, and a box of life cereal. Mm mm.
@TheTamedShrew oh GAH that sounds familiarly awful, I'm sorry!! My DD is 4... And we gave up the fight a long time ago and she just gets in bed with us..every MOTN. Like why?! We've tried everything but then just get lazy and give in. I don't know why they're sound asleep but know we're not there and wake up! Hope it gets better for y'all.
@mamajen10414 Glad you're ok!! You must have really freaked some people out That has happened to me a few times, although not since being pregnant. Glad you were able to feel better and get yourself home, what a crappy end to what sounds like an otherwise good day!
Thanks everyone! I'll be calling my OB today just to check in and let them know what happened. @SLou24 I've never had it happen before, but I've been close. We call them the weebie jeebies in our house. My dad gets it too. If our sugar drops we become very weak, unable to walk, shakey, sweating profusely; then we need food ASAP.
This is going to be more of a rant then a random but I couldn't find another place to put it! I'm I the only one who gets these rude/ignorant comments when you tell people you are seeing a midwife instead of a doctor? I told another lady at work and she said " Midwife!!?? Don't you want to go to a real doctor and have lots of drugs to help with the pain.. it is really going to hurt" As if I am putting myself and baby in harm by going to a midwife instead! I really wish people would educate themselves before casting judgement on another ones choices!! sorry rant over.. wishing all you lovely ladies a wonderful Wednesday!
My my random for today is that I have busted out the hair tie for my jeans. I am 10 weeks tomorrow but was really hoping I'd make it a little further in these jeans since they were bigger in the waist to begin with lol. I think a shopping trip for leggings and tunics is in my future this weekend!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
We told so many people this weekend and my mom told several of her friends (without asking). I enjoyed telling people but now wish we could have kept our secret a little longer. I guess the people we told in person I think was good but I'm kind of mad at my mom for taking us telling his parents and my grandparents as the go ahead to tell friends she only sees 3x a year. I have only told a few friends. What is done is done I suppose. I think if I'm honest with myself it's because I'm still scared it will end and I have no reason to think so though. My mom kind of acts like the baby is coming in the next week and not the 32 that it is.
@jhems776 My mom is the same. As soon as she got back home, the day I told her and my dad, she texted me to see if she could tell her friends. I hadn't even told my brother and SIL! So, no, I didn't want her friends that I've never even met to find out before my own sibling. With DD, she was buying her things when I was like 6 weeks along. And the hormones from pregnancy makes it harder for me to be understanding that she's just excited about her grandbaby.
