@Tennis11785 I also have never heard of not sharing your due date. Seems silly to me...as PPs have said, you are going to get a million questions regardless. I think you'd actually get more if you didn't share your due date. (A lot of confused "why nots?")
@jhems776 That's frustrating about your reveal plans changing on you! It's a sticky situation, though. Unfortunately, it's impossible to keep everyone happy especially at a time like that when emotions and excitement is running high. I think you should do whatever YOU truly want to do. If it weren't for your SIL being pregnant at the same time as you, how/when would you have announced? Try to do whatever it is you imagine in that scenario, as tactfully as possible since of course some plans are already in place and your SIL is already sort of involved. Good luck.
@blondie080300 Yes, I posted about my birthday weekend in the FFFC thread. I wasn't sure quite where to post and since that was where the thought started, I went with it. Thanks for asking. It was a good weekend - DH did, in fact, have a party planned. SO MANY of our family and close friends showed up, it was really special. I decided I didn't have the energy to pretend not to be pregnant so we ended up announcing then, too. Like, thanks for the surprise everyone but the surprise is on you! We're pregnant!
@jhems776I also agree that you should do whatever you and your husband want to do. If you aren't doing a joint announcement any more and don't want to go visit in person yet, then I say talk it over with your DH and then do what feels best. I sympathize with your situation though with having close family also doing a reveal. It is awesome that you are trying to be cool and go with the flow but it is your special news too so def deliver it in the way that you want to. Good luck!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
@jhems776 That's so frustrating! You should be able to tell whoever however whenever you want. Don't let anyone else dictate that for you. Go with your gut and do what's best for you, not SIL.
It's currently 3:33 am and I'm sitting in the spare bedroom eating a piece of toast and some sour patch kids... if I don't eat something when I get up to pee I'm sick in the morning and everything causes this stupid metallic taste to be awful. I hate complaining about it constantly but jeez it is an annoying side effect!!! Also dreading how much weight I'm going to gain this time, started out heavier than I had hoped to and midnight snacking is a must!
@sareej521 but at least that sounds like a delightful snack!! I woke up starving for the first time last night, then this morning when I got up I was dizzy as all get out. I'm really not wanting to jump on the midnight snack train but I might be heading there myself!
Headed to my first appointment and ultrasound!! So nervous and excited! Barely slept, between the crazy dreams and feeling like a kid on Christmas eve. Praying everything goes well! Wish me luck ladies!
She just called to tell me she spent $500 on lip filler injections. I'm not hating on facial rejuvenation, and I can see why someone would want them, but this was still my internal reaction...
Last night my husband asked me if my physical symptoms are in my head. I might kill him.
Wow!!! I would be soooo pissed. Like I feel like everytime I complain about a symptom, DH comes back with his own complaints... he's so tired too.. had a long day, back hurts, headache, etc. Last night I got slightly passive aggressive because he had a stressful day and went out for a drink with friends ( fine with me..) But i was like.. "just remember that I also had a stressful day, but I won't be able to have a drink for another 7 months so have a good time!"

24 hours till my u/s!!!!!!!!! I'm finding it hard to have non baby/normal conversations right now. Went out to lunch with a co-worker (I have not told) and felt like such a bad lunch date. I couldn't think of much to say and was sooo tired.
Have you all tried the new Molten Chocolate drink from Starbucks?! It's AMAZING!! I got the decaf Frappuccino version and it was heavenly, definitely cured my chocolate craving!
So, I just realized that today is Ash Wednesday, and therefore Lent has brought a miraculous not drinking excuse for parties! I'll definitely be telling people that I gave up drinking for Lent
Today one of my FB friends announced she's expecting at the end of August (almost exactly 2 weeks before my official EDD).
It's so damn hard not to comment with an "OMG, me, too! We're almost due date buddies!" I thought about messaging her privately, but I'm going to make myself wait.
Valentine's Day can't come soon enough. We're announcing a tiny smidge early then and it's getting harder and harder to wait. 95% of our family knows, but some relatives and our non-close friends don't know yet (except DH's paintball buddies and work colleagues).
I'm not expecting a lot of fanfare since I don't have a lot of FB friends (rarely use it) and most of those I do have are among the people who already know, but I'm getting really anxious waiting for V-Day to come around so I can spill the beans.
DH thinks the whole FB announcement thing is silly and anti-climactic since most people know, but I'm excited, dammit.
@Tennis11785 oh mannnn... I kind of? see where she's coming from because it is a lot of pressure on you once "the date" approaches. I agree with others by saying "first week of Sept" or something broad is a fair enough answer.
I would tell her 2 weeks after your due date is when you're due, just so she's not in the "know" lol.
We had an epic, ongoing randoms thread, as well as a daily randoms. Not everyone participated in the big one, but it was fun. It was definitely easier to jump in on the daily, and that was better for some people.
I hate hate hate the awkward stage where you don't yet look pregnant, you just look fat - or at least I do. My clothes are already tight and I want nothing to do with zippers and buttons. So today, even though I'm only just shy of 11 weeks, I gave up and wore maternity pants. I've exhausted my jeans that still fit even partially decently and my leggings for the week so maternity pants it is!! My belly thanks me!
Around 2am Tuesday, DD woke and wouldn't go back to sleep. Other than being an early riser, she's usually a really good sleeper so it was strange. About an hour later we found out why when she threw up. And then again. And again. And again. After the second time (finally coming to the realization in my semi-sleep state that it wasn't going to just stop), I took her downstairs to snuggle on the sofa with a barf bucket. I felt terrible for the poor girl. Meanwhile, I was SUPER proud of myself for keeping it together. I'm queasy around that stuff when not pregnant! Luckily my Mom-mode kicked in and we got through it without me having to use the barf bucket too.
Today she is feeling much better. When we went into her room to get her this morning, she said, "Daddy, I didn't puke in my bed today!" Silly kid.
@UnwritteN12 -- I bought a couple of pairs earlier this week for just this reason. I haven't actually worn them yet--I'd like to cross the threshold into the double-digits for some weird reason I can't even explain to myself, but I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I Tried them on. I tortured myself with too-right pants last time. Silliness. Be comfortable!
@MojieJo - It's so frustrating!! I found out TWO of my good friends are due within a week of my EDD and I SO BADLY want to tell them we're gonna be preggo buddies....but DH and I agreed we'd wait until March 1st to tell anyone....ugh!
My husband's cousin is two months ahead of me (she announced about a week after we got our BFP) and that's hard enough (plus, she just did her sex reveal yesterday). We're not close, but knowing that the whole family is going nuts over her (it's her third) is hard enough. I can't imagine how badly I'd be climbing the walls in your situation!
I'm sorry for being such a special snowflake, and I'm sorry the image is so huge (don't know how to resize), but I'm just so full of SQUEE! We had our second u/s this morning. I can't get over that little foot!

I also busted out the maternity pants. I just really wanted an elastic waistband.
We placed an order through Amazon for swing set assembly. They were supposed to be here between 8-11 and still no crew! I hate being trapped at the house not knowing if/when they are going to show up
No matter how hard I try I cannot get off the couch. I have reheated my coffee multiples times but can't bring it to my mouth and take a sip. Bleghh sounds super gross and therefore I cannot function.
I really like super long randoms thread - in my last BMB it was a good place for regulars because people just swooping in didn't want to take the time to catch up. That's just me though!

@jhems776 Good luck tomorrow and getting through the next 24 hours. For whatever reason, they always feel the longest!
