My mom and I are going to make a mobile now too. We are having a storybook nursery so it'll be a Harry Pottery mobile (flying keys and golden snitches). I'll post pictures once we get started
A lot of ppl have mentioned doing a woodland themed nursery! Ds's room is woodland (mostly foxes) just wanted to share the crib sheet we have that's super cheap from target online! It's out of stock right now but it frequently is and comes back! We've bought a few!
@jlgriff11 We had Target briefly but they did a terrible roll out, had empty stores and the prices weren't good so it failed and left with short notice last year.
Just finished this in time for DS's 2nd bday. And once I find out the sex of this baby, I'll get started on one for them (but hopefully have it done sooner than 2 years later)
I am a woman obsessed with sewing baby stuff now! @noelietrex your burp cloths were so cute I had to try some of my own! My sewing machine has been gathering dust for a few years but that baby is getting a workout now. Here are a few I made this weekend.
Guess what? Baby butt! I just finished knitting a super soft little wool soaker. I think this is the outfit he'll wear when we bring him home. I still need to sew the buttons and button loops on. But that is SO boring compared to starting another knitting project...
I have a sewing machine and my mom taught me when I was a kid. I really gotta get it out and watch a you tube video on how to load it and stuff! I remember there's a bobbin? Lol that's about it! There is some seriously cute stuff on this thread!
Can I just brag about my CD stash making? Nesting is really taking over my life. Also if you aren't worried about internet creepers and want one of these I will be collecting addresses...

I do! But I haven't got anything to trade yet so you'll have to wait lol
@noelietrex So much cuteness!!!! That black and white fabric is to die for awesome. Want to trade? If you're interested in trying wool covers, I'd be happy to make one for you.

I'll totally trade! You'll have to let me know how many hours to make one of those wool ones though for a fair trade because I know woolies can take forever!
@noelietrex please tell me that you learned how to make those from a book or online or some source I can reach. If you say your grandma taught you, I might cry. I really want to learn but I don't have anyone to teach me

And the snaps I made up- mimicked one of the newborn CDs we purchased. I don't want to sell these or anything like that. Just loved making them and plan to make oodles more. Our newborn stash is approaching complete already so I'm sure I'll have lots of extras!

Oooh I want one! So cute! Thanks for posting the links too, I've been looking for a good pattern for covers. I just bought my supplies yesterday! I'll totally trade you something as my stash gets going.
@noelietrex you just made my life. Also, I'm embarrassed to admit that I actually thought the PUL fabric went on the outside and I've always wondered where people were getting all these cute PUL fabrics >.<
I knit and crochet, but until recently, I was still too sick in the evenings to do any of that... I think I'm getting better, though, so I bought some yarn the other day.
I decided to turn DS's ocean/whale-themed nursery (he has a "big boy room" now) into a mermaid room for this little girl, so my mom painted this for her during the snowpocalypse.
Anybody find a good fabric website? I'm in search of baby knits for swaddles, because spending $50 for squares of fabric from Aden + Anais is crazy, but I can't seem to find much outside of flannels. I was also thinking that cutting up jersey sheets could work too.
@mnkenned as a alternative to the Aden + Anais you can try cotton gauze fabric at Joanne's or hobby lobby. Fairly inexpensive and feels almost identical. Lots of info on it on Pinterest.
@vmonroy88 - thanks for the gauze tip! Checked out a new fabric shop and found these super cute prints. In full disclosure, the fabric was probably just as expensive as the real deal but I couldnt resist those little whales.
I have no pics yet but I wanted to share because I'm excited! I want to cross stitch some stuff for our nursery but haven't been able to settle on any patterns. Today while I was searching I found a cute pattern that I want to make for a friend that is expecting her first in April. I just bought all my stuff and now I have to wait for it to come in but I'm super excited to have something to work on until I decide what I'm doing for my LO. I will share progress pics once I get started!
You guys have inspired me! I ordered a sewing machine and a bunch of fabric. My first project I think will be a transitional bed (we're doing a Montessori nursery so no crib. This will help the baby transition from bassinet to the full bed) like this. After that it'll be bibs, I'm thinking the bandana style because they're adorable. I also ordered that book so I can knit my baby a sweet little kimono. Wahoo nesting!

Well I guess it's only fair since we don't have Tim Hortons.

@said8me I have a feeling your son had a very, very cool nursery. I LOVE THE QUILT!

Speaking of though I found the best fabric for my curtains but it's freaking $16.50 a yard!
