Pregnant lady problems....

Re: Pregnant lady problems....

  • When you somehow pull a muscle your butt changing your snoogle cover.

Why is it so hard to change that thing?!?
  • Loading the player...
  • I have 2 of them
When you go to drive your car but cant cant reach the peddles because if you scoot the seat up you smush your belly. So your SO ends up driving all the time.

When you jack the blue vomit bags from the hospital to keep in your car because the moment you are on your way somewhere you get kicked in the stomach making you have to get sick.
  • @LadySamLady omg it is IMPOSSIBLE to change the snoogle cover! Least favorite chore ever.

When your Bradley Method instructor is talking about nutrition in pregnancy and getting enough protein then says "I don't mean get enough protein as in, if I eat this entire box of Kraft macaroni and cheese, I'll meet my protein requirement for the day". I feel like she was staring right at me, I do this at least once a week. Whoops!

    You mean...this DOESNT count?
  • Maybe I'm goofy, but what is a snoogle? And what is a snoogle cover??
  • @Aquinna82 that's what I said too!! Totally broke my heart.
  • When all your dreams end with you sitting on a toilet before you wake up and realize you have to pee.

Yeah, or when you wake up just in time to realize you are starting to let it go since you were sitting on a toilet in your dream.

Also, the blue bags in the hospital-I have one in every purse and diaper bag, one in the glove box, and one in my car door!
  • Constantly having to readjust your belly band, while wishing every pair of pants you own were already maternity pants.
  • When you think a sexy shower together would be fun. Then the hubs suggest we might not both fit anymore.... then you need a nap because he was right the sexy shower was exhausting.

This same thing happened to me! And TMI but my hubby also mentioned sexy time is now more difficult in the shower because my front and butt are so much bigger now!
  • When you can't sleep for the 4th night in a week due to killer heartburn. I think my obgyn will be getting a call tomorrow on how to do with this.

Mine is awful tonight too. I think they can ok you to take Prilosec or Zantac? I would definitely call and check!

  • @JessicaB0627 I take OTC Zantac (generic). Knocks it out in 10 min.

At my appointment last week I asked my dr about this and she told me to start with 75mg of Zantac and up it to 150 if it didn't go away. I've had pretty good results with it, definitely worth a try @yogahh
  • When every single day everyone you work with feels the need to constantly comment about your belly. (like you aren't already self conscious enough)

    I'm pregnant... I don't have any problems.

    Sike.

When you have a super stressful day and just want to pick up a bottle of wine (or two) on your way home and then realize you can't.

It's for this reason that I downed an entire bottle of sparkling apple cider last night. I pretended the whole way that it was champagne, or hard apple cider, or anything with alcohol.

I had two bottles of that about a month ago... it did NOT do the trick, lol. I told SO on our first date night after the baby is born I will pump ahead of time and I plan to indulge... and he is on baby duty the rest of the night... and possibly the following morning, lol. @ncm0328

I'm with you...I started with 75mg of Zantac and upped it to 150mg.  I'm still suffering..I have been sleeping in our chaise lounge for a week so I can be sitting up slightly.  I called my ob...left a message that Zantac wasn't working and asked if I could take Prilosec.  A nurse left me a message that Prilosec wasn't recommended and I should try Zantac.  Ummm hello?  I just told you that I have been taking Zantac with poor results.  Like, that was verbatim my message.  Also she called after the office closed, so when I tried to call right back I couldn't get anyone on the phone.  Just another reason I'm not thrilled with the practice.

Like when your husband goes out to the bar yesterday with his friend because they are both teachers and didn't have to go to work and tells you about this amazing Granola Brown Ale his friend had and that he knew I'd want it too. I just glared at him and asked him if he realized how mean he was being. :'(

What I would do for a cold beer or a glass of wine most nights after work....
First off, that beer sounds amazing! Secondly, granola and oatmeal are great galactalogues (foods that stimulate milk production) so I would say if you are planning on BFing, get a case now for once that baby is born! I found that after drinking just one beer that was made with oats I would pump much more than without. Of course, a bowl of steel cut oatmeal or a batch of lactation cookies could do the same (probably better), but I want any excuse to be able to have a nightly brew if I so choose!

  • When your great aunt says "you're STILL pregnant?!" with alarm, respond yup and contemplate the fact that you will "still" be pregnant for 15 more weeks. God bless that old woman.

I have to give her a break since she's 75 and the last time I saw her I was pregnant with ds2 who is 1 now. So more like pregnant again, but still.
  • @kbrands7 Who makes Vanilla Java Porter and where do I buy it? I am such a porter, stout, brown ale drinker that this winter season has been rough without a nice stout to warm me up. I'm counting down the weeks!

I read your comment about counting down the weeks, and thought it was a great idea. So I pull out my calender and HOLY CRAP its still 17 weeks until my DD.
STMs, does time normally stand still around this time? My God, how am I going to get through another 17 weeks?

  • @Aquinna82, my ob-gyn wrote me a prescription for omeprazole, which is the same thing as Prilosec... she said it should be fine. I did some research about it too. I think it really helps... Maybe check again with the doctor directly?

I would...if I could get one to call me back.  The practice I'm currently with doesn't allow you to have a specific doctor because they want you to get to know everyone, since whoever is on call when you deliver is who will be delivering your baby.  They have all calls returned by the nurses or answered by the receptionists.  It's probably the biggest reason I'm thinking of switching practices mid-pregnancy.

I appreciate knowing that it's working for you...I've had a few people tell me that their doctors have said it's totally fine, so I was upset when I got the message that it wasn't permitted.  I kind of felt like they were blowing me off...but since I never talk to the same person twice it's hard to get information

Can you call and ask to specifically speak with a doctor? Or do you have an appointment soon? Sometimes my doctor will actually answer the phone, which always throws me for a loop, but he's kind of unconventional like that. DD's pediatrician on the other hand is impossible to get in contact with! They won't even let me schedule an appointment unless the triage nurse deems it necessary. So annoying.

Yeah it sounds like your ped's office operates kind of the same way.  I actually did have an appt for tomorrow that I canceled, because I am meeting a new Dr on Friday and I didn't want to pay $150 for the office visit (I have a high-deductible health plan so everything at this point is still out of pocket) and then have to pay another office visit for the new Dr on Friday.  I briefly considered keeping the appt just to talk about heartburn, but the cost + the fact that I'd need to take time out of work for 2 visits in 1 week didn't seem worth it in the long run...I will suffer through 2 more days.

Yikes, that sucks! I'm sorry! Hopefully the doctor you see Friday can ok some other options for you.

Yes I noticed a stand still around this time with my second. Not with my first because I got married at 24 weeks pregnant so it went by super fast lol but with my second I remember thinking...oh.my.god...I'm not going to make it another however many weeks! I'm feeling that way this time too. My rcs will be 15 weeks from today...and that just seems so FAR!!!

It's Atwater. I'm in PA; any beer distributor I've been to has it. Im not sure it it's common elsewhere or not. I told DH we need to buy another case when I can actually have some!
  • So this is totally disgusting and I'm really sorry, but...

I am 25 weeks along and haven't gotten really really sick with MS since week 22 or so, and last night, I was laying in bed and couldn't sit up fast enough to get to a trash can or a toilet and ended up puking all over myself and my bed and blankets
