@jmathi0149 DD is starting to get cramped, and she is rebelling big time. She's been rolling and pushing against my belly quite often (and hard!) since Saturday night. We'll check her heart rate tomorrow morning at my appointment, but I don't feel like she's overly freaking out in there- just super active.
What's this!?? 2 days to go to have officially passed 32 weeks!! 2 more days until this week of HELL will be over!!!
Oh and I have officially fallen in love with Zantac! My heartburn/reflux had gotten so bad that I would wake up to pop a tums, then about 15 minutes later roll over, to have the acid return with a vengeance! Last night I had NO problems whatsoever! It feels soo great to not have a burning chest/throat

Ok here's my "holy crap it's coming soon moment" - had my 32w midwife appt today. She asked if I've started doing the post partum preparation - like freezer meals and lining up after care for at home. I told her I got everything started over the weekend, DH is staying home for 2 weeks, and MIL lives 10 minutes away and she watches the boys. She said "Great! Because it's just bed, nurse, snuggle, and pee when you get home!" I think that's my favorite part of the post partum period - just heal! But crazy to be hearing it so soon.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I was so done being poked and prodded, and I think that nurse had had just about enough of me (she was checking my cervix for dilation and she made me scream - my usual reaction because of the shape of my pathway I think, and she said "Well I hope you're planning an epidural because you sure could never handle labor..." I wanted to slug her, because when my OB checks me, it's like nothing is happening compared to her torture yesterday). And I'd have taken 10 steroid shots in the butt over her checking me once...
@charley15 I may have to make the switch over to Zantac. I woke up 6 times with acid pouring up my throat, before 11pm. I'm so tender today from it and I've been coughing again too. Blegh. I hate pregnancy lol. I'll be so happy to meet this little guy.
@smushi you HAVE to take Zantac, it's a total lifesaver!! My midwife told me yesterday to take it everyday as a preventative. I can't tell you what a difference it has made to me! @charley15 glad you are taking it! Also, try sleeping on your left (which I know you're probably doing!!) because it really can help with heartburn too
ETA wow this random thread has really slowed down, huh??
Anyone who participates in Easter activities starting to think about it yet? My sister (plus husband and 4 kids) will be in town - sleeping at my mom's thankfully - but it got me thinking and my baby will *hopefully* be between 7-14 days old. Ugh. I know all of us will have newborns or be VERY pregnant - I'm not sure which one less ideal. I know avoiding my mom's and husband's extended family that week isn't really an option for me personally. I was 40w4d on Thanksgiving with DD1 before she was born and then she was about a month at Christmas and it worked out, but not looking forward to holidays so soon following birth! Any thoughts from anyone to share?
Honestly I'm not worrying about it until baby has come - based on EDD he will be 2 1/2 weeks old. My mom usually hosts Easter but with two other kids, I'm not going to worry about the norm.

@ecwk I usually sleep on both sides- I'm a tosser. Right now I'm having issues with my carpal tunnel in my right hand and I have noticed my arms are falling asleep now when I lay on my sides (I'm laying on my arm). Its another thing that makes me constantly roll/switch sides. I'm a side sleeper to begin with so that adjustment wasn't really hard for me at all, but now I just can't get comfortable enough to sleep at all- and the heartburn/acid was NOT helping lol.
So round 2 of Lake effect snow has hit- all schools are canceling afterschool activities. I'm hoping for another snow day tomorrow, but this time maybe my school will close so I can stay home? I still have my injection appointment tomorrow at 3:30, and I'm not missing that, no matter what. I have 4 shots to go- I'm not missing one now!

Same here. I really thought we'd catch enough snow this past weekend that we could take DS out in the yard to try out his Christmas sled, but no dice. It was 60 and raining one day, then dry and 20 the next. Typical weather for us though.

My EDD is the day after Easter, but since we moved out of town from family, I doubt we will do anything whether baby is here or not. Miiiiiighhhtttt drive the hour north to my grandma's house for Easter dinner depending on how I feel. If I had a newborn, I would definitely be chilling at home though.
I'm so jealous of all the snow. I'm in Texas and I'm currently wearing shorts and a long sleeve shirt. I'm usually skiing in Colorado this week every year, so I'm not exactly appreciating the warm.
I'm due on the 3rd and my mom asked me today if I was planning on driving the 7 hours to her house for Easter. I haven't even responded to her because there aren't any good ways to ask your mom if she's completely out of her mind.

smushiI'm so sorry for that nurse's terrible words. Sometimes nurses have bad days, but that totally did not excuse her comment. Kudos to you for not slugging her! My mom said something like that to me when I was 12, which is probably what kicked off my deep-seated fear of childbirth. BUT I did it. (I did have an epidural, but I'm pretty sure it wore off before pushing and the Ring of Fire.) You can do it, too.
We will probably put easter eggs on the floor for ds, maybe hide a few in toys that he plays with. Won't be going anywhere though. If we are lucky, we will make it to the 38 week c-section which would put them at 2 weeks old for Easter. If dh really wants to go to his famly's dinner, then he can take ds and the twins and I will stay here. I have a rule: until I feel healed, i do not go anywhere but Dr appointments. I figure that if I am not feeling up to going places, then babies probably are not either.
I might give birth during Easter this year since I'm due around then, so I'm not sure what we'll do. Usually we and my siblings with their LO's travel to my parents and spend the holiday together there, but that want happen this year. Guess we'll try to make it a nice family time just me, DH and DS and have Easter Egg Hunt in our backyard for DS.
Easter is a bad holiday for me. I've had lots of deaths/tragedies on Easter so I usually hold my breath and hope no one dies. I'm due the 14th and my doctors don't want me going over 41 weeks so baby will be here by Easter Sunday. We will get her a little basket and stuff, I mean how can you not?! Other than that we probably won't do anything.
@poppy0419 I'm dying laughing about your mom... I'm sorry!
@bethanynaom For sure! I was highly tempted to slug her, especially since this isn't my first child.
Concerning Easter, I know that whenever I have this kid, I won't be tempted to go anywhere for the first two weeks at the very least, holidays or not. Easter is not one of our big family holidays though, so beyond a picnic of something yummy brought to my house, doubt I'll go anywhere.
We haven't scheduled yet, but I am assuming my c section will be sometime the end of February (Edd mar 2). That being said I am making no plans to travel anywhere until mid April since I know I am in for a longer recovery. If I feel up to it we may visit family sooner, but if not there will be no pressure. That being said we are fortunate that dh's family doesn't celebrate Easter (he is Jewish) and it is not a major celebration for my family so we will most likely just do an egg hunt for Ds and a nice dinner just us (although my mom may come if she is not visiting my brother).
I've known that DD will likely be here before Easter (EDD: March 17), but it just hit me that I may not be at church on Easter Sunday. DH pastors a small country church, and leading music is one of my responsibilities there. Oh boy, adding another stress log to the fire.
With my tendency to go early we may have a February baby. So by Easter we will be up and moving. My in-laws only live about 20 minutes away, so we will probably be going there. With 15 grandkids now it will make for one huge easter egg hunt!
The week before Easter is our annual Fire department banquet, and we plan on going to that and taking baby too, so he can have his grand debut at the Fire Dept with the crews and local government. It's a nice catered dinner which is followed up with a LOT of drinking and dancing, which obviously this year we won't stay for the after party. But taking a baby to an event like that would be a TON easier than going from house to house to meet people, or having people come to my messed up house.
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
My EDD is March 2nd, this is my first so not sure when I'll go into labor (obviously...but I'm talking early or late like some people know based on previous pregnancies). I know that's a decent time before Easter, but not sure what we'll be doing honestly. DH family doesn't celebrate Easter like my family does, but my family doesn't have any children young enough for an egg hunt and we're all spread out since my grandma passed in September. So it's likely we won't do anything, or may just have a nice dinner at my moms house.
Well, I'm technically due 3/31, so 3/27 is dicey for sure. I'm not making any plans this year as far as going anywhere or cooking anything. I assume my MIL and SIL (+ her husband and kids) will come to our place and bring food and all of the trimmings. I don't want to short change my son, but I will either have a brand new baby, still be in the hospital, or be about to burst. (Also, I'm an atheist, so Easter isn't really my jam. We celebrate for my husband and his family, and also so that my son learns about religion as a whole and is open to making his own decisions about it as he gets older.)
I am so proud of myself. I had a llittle downtime so I made this card for dd to go with her t shirt for the baby shower
ETA: I have been having the WORST time with my mobile posts. I get a lot of doubled letters, double words, no spacing, etc. I think its the app- every other app I have (fb, messaging, texting, etc) doesn't do that!

I'm also an atheist, or at least not a Christian, so my Easter celebration will consist of eating all of the discount chocolate the day after.
With edd as 3/10, baby would be a couple of weeks old at Easter. If all goes well, I do plan to spend it with family, but don't have to travel more than a few minutes from home, and totally not freaking out about it.
On another note, a bunch of tb ladies had head colds over the last couple of months, my dumb face decided I should join that club! I'm soooo miserable right now, mouth-breathing and all. Any good home remedies for the congestion?

Ugh, Dr recommended I go on a BRAT diet for a while. I asked if she realized that I am 30 weeks pregnant (almost) and must eat more than that. I compromised and said I would do it for 2 days but then all bets were off. I just got oreo ice cream yesterday and it is calling my name
I had a very good appt. Only 3 shots left!!! And the doctor came in, got into my ear, and whispered "congratulations- you made it! This is the farthest along you have ever been!" And giggled while we went over to his stool. He checked my weight and he said that it was good, and I broke down and mentioned the number spooked me. That is when he informed me (or he told me and I forgot) that my injection does have a good amount of cortisone in it and I've been on it since 16 weeks, which has contributed to my weight gain. That totally explains why I've been gaining like crazy! I've gained 40 pounds so far but for dd I barely gained 10 and was getting spoken to every time I went in that I needed to gain more. That does explain a lot lol.

Thanks @skruhmin !! I've been doing the steam showers and it helps, but doesn't last long...I'll add the humidifier!
