Mine is the flu that I contracted at some point on Friday, most likely on an airplane because airplanes are gross in general. But OMG flu, you suck. I may even call out of work again today for day #2...which is unheard of for me. And I kinda can't even care, since I'm basically dying. On that note, I myself also receive a TW award bc I've apparently turned into a man in the sense that I feel like the world is ending because I'm sick Sorry...but omg I am so miserable.
And finally TB mobile gets an award for telling me every 35 seconds that my draft has been saved. It's irritating to have to stop and X out of that helpful little reminder constantly. I've had to do it twice already in this paragraph alone. Seriously, it's like the microsoft paperclip....
@Aquinna82 my flu is a total twatwaffle too. Had to cancel a tasting tomorrow I was really looking forward to. I'm useless as a sommelier until I can taste again. A pregnant somm with a cold! So you're saying you don't drink and can't taste? GREAT!
TB can be a twatwaffle, but it's been keeping me entertained while I'm stuck sick in the house. Tonight DH and I watched movies and I showed DH all of TB dramz and we had some good chuckles. He was like OH SNAP WTF IS THIS TERRIBLE PLACE!? And I was like yo this is where I come to look up stuff about cramps and exercise and get decorating ideas. He was like WHO ARE YOU?
My pants are a twatwaffle. My regular jeans won't button anymore.
My twatwaffle has to be my SO and I's job. We both work the same night shift so we have the same nights off and it's been working splendidly. Fortunately/unfortunately my SO finally got that promotion he really wanted. But because one of our other co workers mom is the head of HR, he was given the spot on our shift over my SO even though my so has more seniority than this kid. Now he had to move to days so we will be on opposite schedules which is super inconvenient specially with a baby otw. I'm trying really hard to be excited for him because he really wanted this job but it's hard to be happy when I'm never going to see him anymore. And we live together. Maybe I'm the twatwaffle for finding it hard to be supportive

I have 2 twatwaffles and I'm so glad it's Tuesday so I can share them!
My router. It's so frustratingly random and just shuts down my wifi on my phone every so often, leading me to run up my data use without even realizing it.
Also, night shift. I love that by working nights (almost 8 years now) that I am able to spend more time with my kids and participate in activities, as well as the hefty shift differential, however I hate that when I have days off after a long stretch of work, I am up all night and then a zombie all day.
My TW is the high cost of medical testing. I had one of the DNA blood tests due to paranoid doctors freaking me out at our AS. Pretty high price to pay for peace of mind. Got the bill. The insurance covered most of it, but I still owe $750. I'm already paying my doctors office $560 a month, and this is just one more thing. I'm calling the lab today to see if we can at least put it on a payment plan or something....
MY FEET. I think they swelled up over night I refuse to buy new shoes or a winter coat this pregnancy, so looks like Ill be cold, and shoving my feet into shoes that don't fit.

That really is horrible. I am lucky my insurance is good, or else I wouldn't be able to afford more than one kid just due to the medical bills. Hope you can work something out!

I'm starting to hit this wall too. My shoes are fitting, but on Sunday amidst my nesting frenzy, I could actually feel my feet start to swell since I'd been on them for hours. It's starting to happen during the teaching day too. Looks like even more water and sitting with my feet propped up is in my future if I can manage it.
Not to derail, but has anyone had success with warm lemon-water to reduce swelling this late in pregnancy? I drank it 1st trimester to combat bloating and I'm wondering if it'll work now with other types of swelling.

I haven't heard of it, but worth a shot. If it doesn't reduce the swelling, atleast you will GLOW from all the water!
TW is the weather/school district. Our roads were atrocious today and 1/4 of our student body isn't here yet because buses can't navigate the roads well. We're in the state-testing window and administering one of the exams today to 9-11th grade students which complicates the situation further.

Ew. The district we live in as well as the neighboring one the kids I babysit go to cancelled both yesterday and today and I imagine tomorrow as well. I'm hoping for tomorrow so I don't have to load up a 1yo, 2yo and 5yo and drive 30 mins (on a good weather day) and take the 5yo to school
Anyway, my Twatwaffle today (why does my phone insist "Twatwaffle" is capital?) is my garage door opener. Since its cold and windy out I attempted to put the garage door down to keep the snow out of the garage and the cold out of the kitchen. After 3 failed attempts (it goes completely down and pops back up on its own), I have cleaned the area around the door and sensor and it still won't go down. And of course, I'm too short to do it the old fashioned way ugh oh well I'll just be shoveling the garage later.
My TW is my sump pump... The drain pipe froze the other day leading it to run all night (luckily didn't burn out or flood the basement). MO's weather has been up and down to say the least so it thawed out yesterday, but now I am worried it'll freeze again today (temps in the 20s) and I'll have to risk keeping it unplugged and hope my basement doesn't flood.. I love being a homeowner
The aches involved in being more than half way done carrying twins. Omfg. My hips and pelvis! I can't sleep. Plus WI winter in full force. Negative temperature and icy driveways and parking lots. Not looking forward to taking my son to his 18 month check up this morning.
@kbrands7 - I'm on my feet up to 14 hours a day at my job and I wear compression tights, even when I'm not pregnant. Not the cheap kind, but the really expensive thick ones. I don't know that they work for swelling (I wear them to keep my legs and feet from aching), but I'd imagine that they do. I them!
TW would be me...because I didn't get on TV last night and I had so much to saaaay!!!
Also--whoever stole my plunger!!! Very long story, but DS was naked in the bathroom as I was trying to get his bath ready and peed all over the floor...and then fell in it. So I got a bunch of toilet paper to wipe it up and then clogged the toilet. And our plunger is gone. Disappeared. Who takes a plunger??
My 2 year old son can't be a TW so I will have to go with MH. Apparently, last night he referred to my son's diaper as "underpants". NBD, right? Well, cut to this morning when I am getting him ready for daycare and just toss his diaper in the trash. And then the meltdown to end all meltdowns! He freaked out, screaming "My undapants in the trash!!!!" and then attempted to fish them out. I stopped him and explained that diapers go in the trash, but he was gone. Flailing, kicking, wailing, the whole nine yards. I somehow managed to get him dressed and directed him to the stairs, placating him by giving him a clean diaper to hold. He then stood at the top of the stairs screaming "UNDAPANTS!" while waving the clean diaper like some sort of battle cry. We attempted to go downstairs which led to further sobs of "Renzo do it!" but when I would let him walk down, he would freak out and cry for "Uppies!" Finally, I just scooped him up and brought him downstairs to wails and sobs. He grabbed a bag of tropical dried fruit and started munching on "fwoot snacks" so I just let him while I made tea and tried to pull myself together. I got us both packed and bundled for the car ride (even remembering the almond milk for daycare that I forgot yesterday) and it looked like smooth sailing. Once at daycare, he erupted again, this time in wails of "Mama do it! Mama go to daycare! Renzo go home. Renzo doesn't fit in daycare." I tried to calm him and got him to walk in on his own. But he would not relinquish his bag of dried fruit and they were strangely adamant about him not bringing it in. The daycare worker tore the bag from his vice-like grip and I got out of there as quickly as I could. I am almost relieved to be at work TBH. But maybe I spoke too soon...
ETA: I have no idea how I plan to blame this all on MH, but clearly from my 1st sentence, that is my stance. It is all his fault. Ahhh, reason reigns supreme in our household as you can see!
@laurenmdrn16 it sounds like he started it I got a little chuckle out of your story lol
It was so hard not to bust out laughing during the whole "undapants" saga. I didn't want to make him more upset by hurting his feelings and it was clearly something he was quite passionate about, but it really was fairly hilarious.
The struggle is real @laurenmdrn16 lol you can't laugh so you just keep it in...but you wanna laugh so bad lol my son threw a tantrum over his mickey underpants because "mickey is on my wiener mama...mes no like it"...sigh...kids and their undies lol
TW is my cat who decided that she was starving to death at 2am. I finally gave in and got her some food early after she sang her death song for an hour.
MY FEET. I think they swelled up over night I refuse to buy new shoes or a winter coat this pregnancy, so looks like Ill be cold, and shoving my feet into shoes that don't fit.
Not sure why reading this made me think of something... but my dad has this old, old friend he used to work with who used to swear by putting his feet in bread bags (as insulation) to keep them warm and dry.... mind you this man was not homeless and did own shoes! Just had a lot of LOONEY things he did!.. and I mean a lot. Guess you could always resort to good ol' bread bags!
Today's TW is the first grader who wore vampire teeth to school this morning and bit 3 other students in the neck breaking the skin and drawing blood.... all before 8 AM. I had to call some of the parents and notify them that their child was bit. I really hate making those calls. Especially after the day I had yesterday at work. Yesterday a first grader came to school and told 2 other kids about how she heard her mom and dad having sex. Guess who's responsible for making phone calls home to those 3 families.... this chick. There are very few things as awkward as calling a parent and telling them.... hey your kid can hear you and your husband.

@Charla1224 those are the worst! I hate making the "your kid was bit" calls, but I can't imagine three in one morning.
I actually think about you from time to time because our school nurse takes too much comfort in her role at our school. She rarely makes the awkward calls home or deals with "messy" situations. She's 5 years or less away from retirement and is total cruise control mode.
TW !!! I keep reading that this is supposed to be the best, most amazing and fabulous time of pregnancy where you're comfy and bursting with energy! Twat waffle!! - not so much... 21 weeks and I feel huge already and have been seriously struggling to sleep the last 3 weeks. I am so miserable every night, therefore exhausted everyday!
Btw... this is the first I've heard of TW Tuesday and I LOVE IT! lol where does "twat waffle" come from? :-)

I think natural anti-inflammatories are a good idea, too. Over the summer I got on this huge cucumber kick because we had a ton of cucs in the garden. Anyhow, I had a major discovery! There were notable differences when I was eating a lot of them; I felt less "puffy" everywhere--under my eyes, etc. I still eat a lot of cucumbers for that reason! There may be other foods like that, which you could sneak into your regular snacks/meals.
My TW are the customers at the car wash we own. There are signs asking to close the bay doors for the self service wash, especially since its Wisconsin and averaging about 10 degrees here right now, and people don't. We've already had to fix an almost frozen water line. Also, the people who have enough trash to fill my curbside garbage can there in less than 3 hours...what the hell do you do in your car to warrant that much trash? One lady dumped 3 huge cardboard boxes and left the packing slip with her address. I almost delivered right back to her....
My twatwaffle is the undergrad who emailed me the other day at 5:47 in the morning to tell me her puppy ate her advising form, and could I please remind her of the classes she is supposed to take this semester? (Mind you, I've got around 40 advisees, and we met in October.)

On the plus side, you didnt have to do it face to face. But those must have been some awkward calls!!

I wish you had delivered the trash back to her! That would have felt SO good.
@lalala2004 I feel you on the doctor's bills. No one ever tells you how expensive it is before the baby even gets here. I have a stack of bills stressing me out sitting at home. And I thought my insurance was so good, until now
