My first liked to lay head down with his little bum under my left side ribs. The other day this one was positioned that way as well and my son was patting him. I said "aww, you're patting his butt!" and he pulled his hand away and said "ew! i don't want to pat where the poop comes out!" TOTALLY HILARIOUS. Anyway, mine's still shifting all the time...so we'll see where he gets lodged when he runs out of space.
In other news, we had our holiday party yesterday and my co-worker brought in her 7 week old. OH. MY. I had ALL the feels. I wanted this boy here so fast so I could nuzzle my face in his hair. It was overwhelming how much I wanted to grab her baby and just rock and rock and rock him. (I didn't.)
My son's holiday show is today. It's going to be epic and adorable. He insisted upon pairing a tie with his plaid shirt, so I had to tie a single windsor this morning. It turned out OK, actually...If I get a good shot, I'll share.
So I got up to clean, threw some clothes in the laundry basket, put some shoes in the closet, and then the baby kicked me in the ribs and the cervix at the same time. That was the single most uncomfortable feeling I've ever had. I swear I'll never clean again if I don't have to experience that a second time.
I'm sitting at a Starbucks right now and the couple right next to me has been bickering the entire time. The boyfriend patted his girlfriend's shoulder and she's been whining about how painful it was, and how he keeps doing it despite her requests that he not touch her there. I guess he wasn't responding the way that she hoped, so now she's calling the nurse line, informing them that she recently got the "shot that lasts for 3 months" (Depo-provera, I assume?) and that someone just bumped into the injection site and it really hurt, and she's asking if it's going to mess up the effectiveness of the shot. She just loudly recited her social security number over the phone, because I guess they need to verify her identity before they tell her she's being a dingbat.
The boyfriend just got up and walked out. RUN BUDDY!!
Hi, I'm from the April 2016 Mom board, but my due date is April 1st so I lurk over here at times since it's so close to March. I'm 25 weeks along; I'm a FTM going to be a SAHM. We're moving in a month or two, so I don't have my nursery set up yet. My baby is lying super low in there, according to the last ultrasound I had. She said it was okay as long as it wasn't causing any discomfort or bleeding. He kicks me throughout the day, but my fiancé hasn't been able to feel any kicks yet. I just thought I'd pop in for any advice and to say hello.
FML I am done with today. I've tried so hard to remain positive but being over tired and stressed to the max at work babysitting students who just won't go to class, I'm done. The straw that broke the camel's back just now: I have been busting ass trying to answer phones and deal with babysitting asshole kids, and I get a message from my daughter's school saying they received 2 phone calls about a student possibly having brought a firearm to school. I've been bawling ever since. They went into lockdown mode and since then the lockdown has been lifted but there will be a "strong police presence" at dismissal time when they load up the busses. there are 8 schools in the district so god only knows which one they are talking about but I'm still scared shitless nonetheless.

@charley15 I'm so sorry that happened to you and your daughter. I totally get it, LAUSD was totally closed down on Tuesday due to multiple bomb threats. I know that a true terrorist wouldn't give a warning, but I can't help feeling extra jittery dropping my kiddos off. Thank goodness for Winter break.
@Bubbles3592 I'm due March 22nd and I'm coming up on 27 weeks, so I think you have your weeks off. You should be just starting your 3rd trimester now. Welcome.
@everyone esle I've gotten WAY behind in this thread and just speed skimmed to the end, but I must have missed a bunch because I didn't see the part where @oceanchild had a broken bone scare! Glad it all worked out for the best. Hope the upcoming holidays bring peace and restfulness for us all (Fat chance, am i rite?)
@kitteh81 I don't think so. According to The Bump calculator and my doctor, I just started my 25th week today. I don't really understand the reasoning behind it.
I feel like you all have a master sense of your body and of course your LO inside of you. I literally have no idea where this little dude is, how he is positioned, etc.
Ha! I was thinking the exact same!!
@oceanchild I am so happy you all are safe and well!! Xo
@soxfan9968 glad you are back home and continue to feel better!!
@SarahFoley725 hope your legs feel better and sorry it's your last days with your kiddos. They were so lucky to have you. You'll still see them I'm sure!!
ETA sorry to hear that @charley15 that is awful. Since moving to the States this is a thought that enters my head far more frequently than it should unfortunately. Glad your daughter is safe!
That was the fastest ever but no blood clot. They think baby is most likely shoving her big ass head down low and pitching off a nerve. I did have something in my urine from not eating or drinking enough which I definitely haven't today as I've been here for hours. I turned down the IV and I'm going home to chug water

Prefacing this with *everything is still fine* but I'm sitting back up here at the hospital, in L&D this time. My OB heard about the wreck and was really upset that the ER didn't do an NST on the baby and draw a D-dimer to check for some placental problems or something so he told me to go up there right away, esp since baby wasn't as active as normal. Of course lying on my back with monitors on makes for a very active baby haha! And it is nice and reassuring to hear that heartbeat. But OMG I have to pee and this bed is awful uncomfy on my sore body! I'm ready get out of here!

Yup I do the pat pat pat to my boys, especially when putting them to sleep and it soothes them. Kind of funny how similar they all are - and glad to see I can still use my techniques.

I'm kind of shocked they didn't send you to L&D. The hospital I'm going to has a policy that no matter what, 22 weeks on, it's up to L&D! And when I had to go there at 24 weeks, it was a triage bed and holy crap so uncomfortable!!! My butt was numb after that one! Glad your LO is moving around finally!

I should have insisted honestly, but I was just so excited to be leaving with no cast! And yes, the effing triage bed! Omg why the hell do they have these things in L&D of all freaking places?!

Ugh I'm getting annoyed and nervous. I was having some cramping that was coming about every 5 minutes and a lingering lower back ache. This lasted about 30-40 minutes. As soon as it started I sat down and drank a bunch of water. So, they died down and I got up to get a few things done. Nothing happens the whole time I'm up moving around. I sit down, and they start back up. That's so backwards to me! Baby is moving a lot though. I'm just trying to decide if I should call my nurse or stay up and moving around.

I would call since they started up again. Try laying on your left side first and see if they return.

Okay I am throwing a small pity party for myself. I got my first stretch mark, I'm not really surprised I mean I have stretch marks on my breast from puberty, and all over my inner and outer thighs from weight gain during a horrible relationship, but it is still depressing because my stomach was stretch mark free. I know it is superficial but sad to see. Plus I have 15 more weeks.

I swear you all are jinxing me. I had a busy night. We went to pay on the Christmas presents, then to Sams to finally start my membership (and got a 20$ gift card!) Then went to walmart to get a few things, but the minute dh told me to rest, I sat down just to feel some cramping that wouldn't go away! I ate dinner and I'm now laying down, on the left, chugging water, and now they are completely gone, and little man is moving up a storm. Guess I can't do more than 2 stores at a time anymore. Yuck.

Getting through three pages on this thread is more suspenseful than watching any movie. I can never read fast enough and the whole time I'm just repeating to myself.... Everyone is going to be okay, they are going to be just fine.
Thankfully my Chritmas Break just began and now I can be a full, all day long, bump addict for two weeks straight! I can keep up with you ladies in real time now! (And let me say I am so glad that despite all the stress and hard, sick days... I am so glad you ladies and your babies are okay in the end.)
So I talked to L&D, they said drink even more water and if the contractions start being longer than 30 seconds a piece (which they haven't been) or my back ache doesn't go away I'll need to come in. She said drink as much water as I could stomach, and just sit until 8 then call back with how things are. My only deal is that I actually had to laugh at her instructions and when she asked what was funny I'm like "well, I've got 5 kids, two of which are toddlers but I'll sit as much as possible" haha she laughed too though!

@oceanchild reassuring to hear your ob is on top of things. My ob is super cautious but this is one area where I think that is a great trait to have.
@kynbar5 hope things settle down for you
