We're naming LO Vincent James. James is after DH's paternal grandfather. Vincent is because we like the name. Also, Vincent Valentine is one of my favorite Final Fantasy characters. DH keeps joking that we have to get LO a red bandana for newborn photos. I'm getting him a red hat instead. Compromises.
No first name yet but I like Cole for a middle name. BF is hasn't settled on anything. He just wants our boy to have a unique name but I'm not a fan of to unique. His top choices are Bilal and Memphis. I'm not feeling either.
A boy will probably be either Merlin Andrew or Merlin Scott, and go by his mn, just like my grandfather Merlin. A girl will likely be Evelyn Victoria or Evelyn Maxine. I don't love Evelyn (too popular, especially in my neighborhood), but I've yet to come up with something I like better. Either way, the name won't be settled until we've spent a bit of time getting to know the baby.
Lovin all these names:) my little boy will be Wyatt James lol my mom wants me to name him William Wyatt... bc my brothers middle name is William, I told her my brother can use that name lol
It's from a show called The League. One of the characters named his Brother's son that on a bet type deal. They all call him that, but his actual name is Christopher Benjamin.

@SparklePeanut A lot of people think it's horrible to have an out-there name, but I really like it. It's ultimately up to you and how you think it will affect your child.
Thinking about Adrie Quinn, Adrie pronounced like the first part of Adrienne, but not sure if Adrie is too out there! Thoughts?
Is there a reason you don't want to use Adrienne and have Adrie be the nn? I know an Adri (actual name Adrianna), and like the nn, but I don't love it alone.

My maiden name is Adrian, so I really like forms of it as a name. I've honestly never seen Adrie and would think its misspelled, though tbh I'm just more of a fan of traditional names.
Also, I go by my maiden name professionally and very rarely the the "Yo, Adrian!" comments.
I love so many of these names! I wish DH wasn't as laid back about chosing the name - he thinks there's no need to have the name officially chosen now...but we're throwing some names around. So far the top contenders seem to be Henry and Charles (we'd call him Charlie at home)...MN is my mom's maiden name, Crawford.

HA!! Good to know I seriously had no idea why some men refer to each as Chalupa Batman in my family. Hahaha I'm dying. My family is so ridiculous lol
@MrsZko , my parents were the same way. I was named three days before I was born, but of course I was born at 36 weeks so they weren't expecting it to be such a close call.
I'm jealous of all of you who have chosen names! We still haven't found one we both love. We're currently thinking about Freya Eloise.
DH and I picked out 3 full boy names and 3 full girl names on our honeymoon... We've had names planned well before we were ready to have kids. Everyone thought we were crazy. Took the stress out of picking names while pregnant, though! I kinda wish we had waited, just because it would have been nice to decide while pregnant and get a feel for who was cooking instead of "these are the names we like in this order."
Is this a new trend? This is the third "Kit" I've heard of in the last week.
Not that I know of! That's nuts, most people think we're crazy. Honestly, we are simply a fan of older names (I have a Betty and a Molly already).....and my husband thinks it's adorable. I've never met a Kit!
It's from the first season of The League, they make a bet & 2 characters they have to name their son that if they lose a fantasy football game. He grows up on the series with that name.

The person who actually won the bet ended up swapping naming rights for a draft pick. The stoner brother then decides the name, Chalupa Batman. I think he actually ends up named Christopher Benjamin, but the rest of the guys in the league always "correct" the parents and call the kid Chalupa Batman.
I thought I knew, but after the anatomy scan, looking at baby, I don't know, now the names don't seem to fit. It's a good thing I have 4 months to decide.
We're down to two FN for DD2. Lyla (90% chance) and Iris. DH has been shooting down my MN suggestions of Noelle (after DH) and Toril (for his Nordic heritage).
We're still fighting the Thomas Morgan (his choice, for my uncle and his grandfather) vs. Thomas Frederick (my choice, for my uncle and his great-uncle [who i actually knew and was awesome and didn't have kids]). I'm pretty sure I'm going to win though. His mother, uncle, and one cousin already have Morgan as a middle name, so that's enough in my opinion.

Kit is not in the top 1000 names for any birth in this decade. Kit is my father's name, which is why that is DD's middle name. Sounds like coincidence that you're hearing it a lot.
I knew a Kit in school. I wonder if the new Cinderella had anything to do with Kit now. I liked it before the movie, but I don't think the hubby would go for it.
My DH and I have been in agreement for a while on girls names, but we are having so much trouble with boys (we are team green).
Right now we like Maya or Layla for girls, and the only boy name middle ground we have is Kiran/Kieran or Max. He really likes Cooke but that doesn't really resonate with me. I like Jude, Rhys, or Asher but he vetoed those, why are boys names so hard!?
I just want to say it's nice to have this thread, after reading some of the dedicated baby name forum boards. They are so judge-y!
I'm really into the name Mason Reid for our boy currently. I know Mason is incredibly popular, but I grew up with a top 5 name for the year I was born (Michelle). I don't feel like I know that many Michelles, or that it impacted my life negatively/made me feel less special. So the idea of a name being "too trendy" kind of makes me roll my eyes.
I also like the name Nikolai (and the nickname Niko) it works with our German last name but possibly sounds a little too exotic all put together. So that one will likely not happen.
@Missingchampagne I love Nikolai/Niko! I know where you're coming from on the name board (it can be harsh!), but I think there is a difference in a thread for sharing versus explicitly requesting feedback. Or maybe I'm just justifying my fun on the name board.

Nothing has stuck the way our girl name did.. Haha, we'll have it for next time!

New to the forum. Decided it was better to jump right in than do an awkward formal intro post
