Ok - so - I'm loving Myra Mak or Maks (2 syllable last name) - Mak is the first three letters of my maiden name, Maks is Polish (so is my maiden name) - and Myra from my grandmother - Zelmira. DH wants Zelmira... whaaaaat? I loved my grandmother a ton but I cannot see a name like Zelmira now, not 1926. LOL I'm stuck cuz i REALLY like Myra Mak! Thoughts? DD1 is Elise FYI! THANKS!!!
I mean, Zelmira nn Mira seems to be the logical solution. She could have the full name and you could still call her Mira Mak.
I think Zelmira fits better with Elise, which is pretty old school anyway.
I think we've decided to go with Levi Cedar as our son's name!
All my favourites got vetoed by DH (Callum, Caleb, Kellan) and some of my other faves were taken by family (Eli, Judah). DH didn't suggest anything but Jacob, which I am dead set against (I work with a student named Jacob), so Levi seemed to be the only name we could agree on! Cedar is a nod to our nature-nerd sides (DD middle name is Aspen)- I feel like going a bit crazy in the middle is ok!
We also might love it because DD says it "Wee-vi". SO CUTE.
I do like Leona. My dads middle name is Leon, so there's even a family connection. I love Lenore! But...that goes back to the whole "I knew this girl in high school"...BS. The list of hooker names keeps growing and the list of usable baby names is still at 1.

It's the nn Nora that's the issue. I love Nora. I have been trying for that name since dd#1. In his defense, the chick is bat shit crazy....but we live 14 hours from where he went to high school, so I don't see an issue with it.
This little girl is Madden Marie Celestine! Madden is DHS moms maiden name (she has severe Alzheimer's as well as has had some strokes, so we are really excited to use her family name), Marie is my moms middle name, and Celestine is my late grandmothers name.
3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3) - #3 due March 30!
@ashdawn24 we are also going with Levi for our little guy. I love that the mn you chose is a nod to something personal to you and your husband. DS#1 calls his little brother baby "wee vi" and we love it!

Isn't it the cutest? Have you decided on a middle?

@ashdawn24 yes and yes! Levi Hawk, little brother to Chase Jagger.

Adorable. Seems like we have similar taste. Big sister here is Brynn Aspen. ☺
35 + 5 and this little girl still doesn't have a name! I am just about in panic mode now! Only thing that is for certain is her middle name will be Dean after my brother. But a first name is just beyond me! Why is this so difficult? I want something classic sounding, but not overused. So far I have my list narrowed down to the following but could always use suggestions for something similar. Eloise Colette Jacqueline (grandmother's middle name) Ava (really popular I know, but both my great grandmother and I have variations of Eve in our names... so this is a contender based on that) Amelia Cassidy Adrienne

I love Amelia (we almost chose that one!), and Adi is short for Adrienne, so I'm partial to that one, too. (Ava's really sweet, too.)

Personally I like Eloise. It's classic and sweet and I doubt it will ever be super popular if you're worried about that.
Lol my first is Chloe Jane and this one will be Mackenzie Rowan so obviously we aren't worried about popularity.
My hubby and I had list of first and middle names we pick out together for boys and girls. when we found out we were having a girl we each picked a favorite and will decide once she's born. Sophie Mae and Olivia Grace are the choices :-)

@allaire314 DH is saying he feels guilty giving DS#2 a middle name after his favorite team (Steelers) after not doing it for DS#1. He chose DS#1's first name and I chose the middle name. This time I get to choose the first name and he chooses the middle. I really love both names. We will see what he chooses.
May lurker- just wanna say GO STEELERS!!!! I told dh this and now I think he wants to change our name If we ever have a boy his name might be Ben. I've always loved the name but I know everyone is gonna think it's after Big Ben knowing how obsessed dh is over him
The dh is stuck on Leona and will even call her that. Yes, he finally likes a name, but I'm not sold on it just yet. None of our kid's first names start with the same letter, so if we use Leona we'll have 2 Ls and that is actually starting to bother me. Plus, I still can't find a middle name I like with it. I'm now leaning more towards naming her Alice, again. It was the original name I had picked out. We'd call her Ace, which is a baseball thing for both of us. But, our last name starts with an A and he doesn't want to use an A name. Ugh.
We changed ours. We had been going with Kit Lillian, but my mother insisted on calling the baby "Kitty Kat" before she had even arrived, and that annoyed the hell out of my husband.
So after MANY talks....we landed on Bridget Frances.
@SweetBriarBee That's why I'm really glad we will never have two girls. DS's name is Aaron. DH's pick for a second girl's name is Alexandria. Two A names in the house would drive me insane. I refuse to let the kids share any of the same first or middle initials! Once LO is born we'll have AK and VJ. If we have a third kid, that kid will either be RM or LE. All different!
@fbanke42 My moms dad named each kid with DD initials because his initials are DD (fn/mn). It has always rubbed me wrong that he did that and didn't let my grandma have a say. So it's my goal to not repeat first initials. With 7 kids already named, I feel like all the good letters are taken and all the names I like start with one of them. And the rest...I don't like names that start with that letter. Haha. So it's been a struggle. If I'd just have a boy, we'd be set.

What about Fiona? Same kind of sound but different letter. Also, I love Alice
@SweetBriarBee Did you tell him that he was a hooker? A name doesn't give you a personality. DH had a lot of issues with some of the names that I liked because it reminded him of certain people. I told him that he needed to just think about the name and not other people, since there are always going to be a bunch of other people with the exact same first name.
