I'm feeling worried because baby seems less active today and maybe yesterday too. I know I shouldn't really feel consistent movement until 28 weeks but I can't help but worry. Any advice?

Maybe try to drink some juice and give it a little sugary kick? Or a little caffeine?

  • Just having a less active day than usual but still feeling movement @ecwk? I wouldn't overly stress. But truly, if you are feeling like something is off, You can always pop over to L&D and have them check baby out for reassurance. I'm sure they wouldn't mind doing a quick scan/strip. But my babies have always had more active days and less active ones.

I think I've felt movement today but nothing very noticeable. DH just went out to get me juice to drink. I'm lying on my left side but this is really upsetting me, I'm probably getting worked up over nothing I just really want some big kicks!!

This was me yesterday. Oj didn't do the trick but Gatorade did. Feel super happy that baby has been super bouncy after 2 slow moving days.

@ecwk that happened to me last week. I read that you can drink some cold milk and lay on your back for a little bit and you should be able to feel movement. I know laying on your back for extentended periods is discouraged but I have noticed when I do for just a bit I can almost always feel movement. With all that said I truly believe in your instincts knowing best. If deep
down you have an uneasy feeling it never hurts to check with the dr.

ETA Becuause you have felt some movement today I wouldn't be too worried. He/she may just be in a position where they are kicking in directions that you can't feel as much.
  • Same here about the lying on back!
And agree about it not hurting to check.
And also agree about maybe baby is turned in a less-feelable position and having a quiet night :)

  • Totally forgot on the ticker-change one of our favorite turkey-day traditions! After the parade we will turn on our annual MST3K marathon until it's time for our evening Xmas tree Napoleon Dynamite viewing. When I was a kid my brother and I used to watch the marathon on the SciFi channel every thanksgiving. Idk if they still do it anymore (I think Comedy Central was going to a while back), but we have about eleventy-bazillion episodes, so we just play them all day long :)

Thank you girls. I chugged some OJ and LO has been moving around. Not as strong as I want (last Friday he/she went NUTS and I guess I want that all the time now!)but enough to reassure me. Thanks for the support :)

Yay! ❤️ My baby girl is on a pretty regular schedule so when I don't feel her I get worried too. Yay 16 more weeks of this...and then forever after that of mom worry!
  • Anytime @ewck! I'm just glad I'm not the only one that gets myself worked up. I swear I'm usually a very level headed, realistic person. I blame it all on the hormones!
  • Seriously someone on the baby names board started the same pole 4 times in a row for opinions on a middle name. I don't think any of the given options to vote on go with the first name. Maybe she should create a fifth pole with the option "non of the above". Haha she my get better results.
  • I noticed the baby was way more active this morning when I was sitting for work. But then coming home and cooking non-stop, I don't notice him really at all. Have you been moving a lot or taking it easy?

Yumm! Those turkeys sound amazing and make me feel lame for not doing something cool to mine. I've been waiting patiently to cut into the apple crisp that my sister made. (Had to wait on the remainder of the fam to get into town.)

Edited because how could I not comment on the Carmel apple cheese cake!!!??? Sounds like this pregnant girl's dream dessert!!
  • @ecwk until about an hour ago I could have written your post. I was so uncomfortable today and I think baby was just moving when I was moving around so I didn't feel many strong movements. Then when I was resting it was radio silence and I started to get worried. A glass of hot cocoa and some apple pie later and he is having a little party in there now. All worked up about nothing. Typically I try to give myself a deadline for freakouts like if I don't feel movement the next hour I'll lie down and drink something to get baby moving, or I'll give until midday and if and if I don't feel baby I'll call the doctor. Helps me feel like I have a little more control and usually helps me be more aware of the movements I wasn't picking up on.
  • Yup @Stormiewinter that's exactly how I try approach it too!! Thank goodness we're both feeling our LOs now! I'm going to remember this in case I start to panic again!! <3

  • I'm so upset right now.  My poor dog is sick as crap. We have been having issues with our idiot neighbors (who are hopefully moving out this weekend) with their garbage.  They put it out back in a can, but with no lid.  We have been having horrible wind storms lately, and their garbage tips over and spills all over the back yard (ours tips over but the lid doesn't fall off). Well my poor dog got into it yesterday and found food that he ate until his poor belly was hitting the ground (not very hard for a dachshund).  Well he had us up all night running to  the back door, wanting out because he got diahrrea.  Last night DH ran into the neighbor finally coming out to pick up his trash.  Fast forward to this morning, I let Sherman out again and found high winds and the trash can tipped over AGAIN!  Worse than that, I went to pick it up so Sherman wouldn't get into it again, and garbage spilled everywhere!!! The morons NEVER TIED THEIR BAGS SHUT- which explains why garbage went everywhere!!!  We took Sherman for a walk to try to move things out of his system.  We let him out a few more times before we left for Thanksgiving dinner, to make sure he wouldn't have any accidents.  Well we just got home to a vomit explosion in his kennel and his blanket/bedding was chewed up and the stuffing strung everywhere :(  What a nice thing to come home to.  My poor baby isn't feeling well :(

  • Yes @bntfroggie!!! We are all excited to know!
  • @charley15 poor baby :( when our weenies get into way too much food...or the time my dog drank a margarita....or the time she ate a bunch of brownies....we give them a cap or two of hydrogen peroxide. It induces vomiting so we set them in the bath tub. It helps A LOT and they bounce back so much quicker.

    @bntfroggie !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Another giiiiiirrrllll ❤️❤️❤️
  • Congrats @bntfroggie!
@charley15 that is the worst. My ILs have a hard time remembwribg that my dog will eat anything and we have had to make several emergency vet calls due to them carelessly leavings raisin filled foods around. Hope
    Puppy feels better!
