Ooo, definitely Christmas wins over Thanksgiving! But as the years have gone by Thanksgiving has become an increasingly big deal. I host my parents and siblings. Thanksgiving has become more of a big deal to me and my sis because we were always very close and we always feared we'd drift apart as our lives got busier. We've made thanksgiving week more of a bonding event for us. We'll take the time to plan out our menu, divi up workload, get together to bake the night before, go for our run thanksgiving morning and then come back to shower and start cooking dinner. It's just nice to have that constant event to bring us together every year.
@bntfroggie I forgot about your thanksgiving cake reveal!! How exciting! Thanksgiving is on an even day so obviously the cake will be blue. Haven't you guys ever heard of the even/odd day science of baby gender?!? Can't want to see pics!
@soxfan9968 glad you are taking DH's advise and taking it as easy as possible for a few days. (Although thanksgiving prep, cooking, and cleaning is far from easy!)
I think I enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas equally. That may change when we get to play Santa for our little girl! (Always been excited for that!)
Thanks ladies!
@skruhmin I don't know why but it didn't even occur to me to see a chiro!! Can I blame that on pregger brain?!
@flowerpower5838 totally bawling over your Dh's excitement for baby renewing his Xmas cheer. So sweet!
Get thee to a chiro now!!!

My family always treated both holidays the same. Personally I always liked Christmas more. As a kid for the presents, but as I got older I just felt like it held more meaning for me. Since my grandma had her stroke about 3 years ago and was put in a nursing home my family doesn't really get together for holidays anymore, and since she passed this year I think it's going to be even longer between seeing some of my family members since we'd usually run into each other while visiting my grandma.
I think my need for tradition is stronger with Thanksgiving. Like, must have these foods and be with these people, yadda yadda. I think we changed up things enough each year for Christmas that I don't have any hard and fast feelings of it needing to be a certain way. Thanksgiving was always the same every single year though
And sox fan I'm so sorry! I second the chiro visit! I believe it helps tremendously with pelvic alignment for birth.
Things with my dad were a bit better this morning. Of course, it's still early. Hoping food prep will be the cure for my frustrations.
Having a bagel and then heading home to bake a pie!
ETA Both holidays are pretty special to us. Thanksgiving is great because it's all about family (and food) and there is none of the pressure of gifts. However, Christmas has WAY more traditions. Especially now that we have kids. I have totally different menus for each though (Thanksgiving = turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots, stuffing, and gravy...with pumpkin something finishing it out. Christmas = homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast, ham, potatoes au gratin, green beans, rolls, and walnut lemon cake.) so I look forward to both meals since they don't repeat.
I'm so excited to eat tomorrow! We are doing my side for lunch and DH's side for dinner so I plan on being rightfully stuffed. I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving.

Question for all you ladies out there that were leggings:
I have NEVER worn leggings before in my life, but I am thinking about getting a pair to wear underneath sweater dresses. Is this acceptable? Or is this a major fashion no-no??

Any other "rules" about wearing leggings?
Definitely acceptable right now. The problem is your feet - pick a great pair of shoes.

The only "rule" I have for myself when it comes to leggings is to make sure my booty is covered!

Well I just got back from the hair salon and she cut about 6 inches off. I now have one of those short Julianne Hough hair cuts you see on pinterest
I also scheduled my 'induction' with her. Lol I scheduled my pre-labor haircut with her for middle of February. We laugh that it's my 'induction' since I went into labor with my first the day after she cut and colored my hair (I go a long time in between haircuts). So I figured a few weeks early would give me some clearance room this time.

In my opinion the only thing that is "unacceptable" is NOT wearing leggings. You're in for a treat, my friend. I live in my leggings. Just make sure you cover up your butt. Also, avoid skin coloured leggings so you don't look like this:

Ditto. I won't go outside without my butt covered. Shoes wise, I usually wear boots with them. I can feel a little exposed in leggings, but they are so darn comfy.

Was there really nobody to tell them NOT to wear this? I'm that kind of person (oke depends on my mood and situation) who tells strangers i can see their bra, underwear, etc, although never told someone she looked literally buttnaked)...
Soooo I live in Houston and traffic is bad basically always. The family I work for just left to run errands and I'm supposed to be leaving in an hour....aka I'm working late. Grrrrr
When I came home from work today DH and pup were gone to my ILs. I knew I would be on my own for a while. I was not upset at this. I was sort of happy. #FFWC
I have been listening to Christmas music for the last hour and building my new Christmas music playlist in my amazon music account. It has put me in a very good mood. I love holiday music.

My rule with leggings is as long as you can't see bum or camel toe... You are golden. They go great in boots and I have fallen in love with the cute little leg warmers that peekaboo out of the top of your boots which I usually pair with leggings.
Eta: I also try to buy leggings that are thick enough/large enough to not be see through.

I don't know if you like country music at all but if you do... My all time favorite Christmas album is Reba McEntire's Christmas.

Been so busy and stressed lately, not been sleeping well. I dearly hope that I can sleep well tonight. I feel exhausted, my worry is that I may be so tired that I can't sleep. Fingers crossed I don't end up post on the night owl page again tonight.
I'm feeling worried because baby seems less active today and maybe yesterday too. I know I shouldn't really feel consistent movement until 28 weeks but I can't help but worry. Any advice?
