My children refused to fall asleep until almost 10:30 last night. Almost 3 hours past their bed time! So I figured surely they'll sleep in and give me a quiet morning alone with my coffee, right?

Ha! Both were up (and bouncing off the walls) by 6am.

  • My best friends just set the date for their wedding and I will potentially be about 1 month post partum... I have no idea how to shop for a dress. Anyone have any style/cut suggestions when you have no idea what size you will be?

Empire waist is your best bet. I'd go up a size or two fron your normal size. Make sure your bust is a cup size bigger.

  • Very cute cake!

Trying not to over do it today. Been packing and cleaning and playing with ds for over 4 hours and I need a break! Wonder if I can get dh to bring me home ice cream again
  • OK, ladies. Need some advice. I had a VERY small car accident (think parking lot and then imagine me totally backing into someone) and have been having some abdominal muscle pain since. I can feel him moving and I have no bleeding. I assume the pain is probably from me tensing up during the accident, but I want to know if you think I should call doc after hours. (She's send me to L&D.) I think it's overkill, but just checking to see what other people I trust think. Thanks in advance!

    @bntfroggie congrats to your friend!!

  • @cmerribury I would do whatever makes your mind feel at ease. Everything is probably fine but you probably will feel better if you call the doc. Sorry about your accident.

@cmerribury I would call my doctor just for the peace of mind that she was aware that it happened. Personally I feel much better hearing everything is cool when it comes from a doctor. I get in my own head often. Glad you're fine and that it was nothing serious!

  • @Stormiewinter I think I may try to wait until after to get a dress. Fortunately I won't be the only bridesmaid with a newborn and bride isn't picky about the dresses as long as we are shades of the same color.

That cake is awesome! I used to work at Ben and Jerry's and cake decorating was my favorite part... Minus the fact that they were ice cream cakes and a lot of decorating was done in a walk in freezer.

@skruhmin Empire waist is a great idea. Thanks!

  • @cmerribury; just do what feels good for you; i think asking here means you're not unconcerned about it, maybe you're more relieved about it when you call. It's already later so hope everything is fine!
(I fell with my bike on friday, it was more a kind of a stupid "the bike i borrowed was higher than i thought so i just fell very slow sidewards on the road" kinda move. Landed very soft only bike hit a lot of other parts than my bump so after feeling baby a lot i was relieved..)
  • @SarahFoley725 lol yes, I did. She took the typical "you guys are all bunch of immature bitches" highway. It was quite funny ;)

Let me know how it goes. I have mine in a couple of weeks. Are you drinking the Orange stuff? If so, you should refrigerate it first and I've heard it's not so bad.

Ask if you can do an alternate drink. Last time I did 2 cups of chocolate milk. This time I'm doing 2 knudsen juice boxes. I get so sick on glucola.

  • I don't know what they are giving me. Unfortunately I have my appointment as soon as they open. They went ahead and scheduled it early after they thought we had the umbilical cord issue. Half of me is like ugh I need more time to mentally prepare but the other half is glad to get it over with!

My MIL said to bring a cup of ice and drink it cold. I'd planned to just plug my nose and chug
  • I did my glucose last week and it was right after I had the stomach bug. Got it down ok, but felt nauseous the rest of the day. Yuck! Good luck!
  • I have sjorens as part or my AI issues... so used to dry eye and have been using preventative drops....

But it's getting ridiculous now and I am bringing it up at my appt next week. Anyone deal with this before? Is there something OTC that removes the sandpaper feeling?

  • Some people.... *rolls eyes* selling a few things in preparation for the move. We have a table we bought new just a couple months ago. Spent like 350$ for it with the 4 chairs. It is in great condition and we have it posted for 100$. Some one just got their panties in a twist cause they offered 50 and I said no.
  • @red3ye; know that feeling..even if you put down the price and reason they are so rude to make you an totally unacceptable offer..I always want to reply that i rather (think this is the right word) throw it away or just give it away to someone who needs it than selling it to them. Although never did it...(telling them, at the other hand sometimes i think you can always try, think it will work sometimes voor them ;)
  • Good morning (middle of the night).  So your toddler falls asleep unexpectedly on the car ride home from grabbing dinner?  Let him sleep they said.  He'll be fine they said.

Until 2am when his diaper soaks through and he's wide awake.

Worse than that, the plugged in monitor died at some point, so his screaming cries were what woke me up.  I feel terrible...

Awwww don't be too hard on yourself. It happens to everyone in some form or another. I hate that because it always seems to backfire.

  • Hair: yes I'm almost always that way. Clothes- not yet, some time after thanksgiving maybe :) lol, I need my fat pants
  • Definitely yes to the hair- but mine is still too short to pull up, so I slick it back with a head band and don't care if it sticks out/up/all over!
