Mystery solved.  My manager tossed it because he thought it was something he brought in 2 weeks ago.  I was just thinking this morning how my hormones haven't really gotten the best of me and I didn't cry at the drop of a hat, but man the waterworks today.  I was so embarassed I hid in my office for the last hour.  My office is all guys right now who just don't get it.

I'm sorry :( I'd cry too. I'm glad you figured it out but I'd still be upset and demanding some lunch ;)

Completely and utterly lost my appetite over the latest post in the "gential warts" post. Seriously, if y'all can avoid reading that please do.
This is like putting a giant red button in front of a child and telling them not to push it. I lasted all of 10 seconds. I must admit - for being a genital warts thread, it could have been a whole lot worst than that.
I agree. At least there were no pictures. Her (that mousie character) description just grossed me out completely.

Well crap now I have to go look. I am sure I will regret it.

  • I absolutely feel like she's saying it's skin tags, even though she knows it isn't because of the reaction she got. It is possible that she had it before, but it was dormant (that happens) and didn't show symptoms until she became pregnant...or that she had it and didn't know due to not having regular check ups...either way, though, not something I'd ever broadcast. Also, she did a terrible job of explaining how it was diagnosed. I mean, a blood test is what would be needed to diagnose warts, not just a visual check. When I went in for my 8 week my OB ordered a battery of tests for just about every known STD, even though I knew I didn't have any of them. I thought that was SOP, but maybe not? Ugh, anyway, maybe no more reading that thread today.

  • @bntfroggie I'm sorry about your lunch :( I think you need to leave the office and go get yourself something yummy!

The genital warts thread....I read it early on but I've largely stayed away from it because yeah.

I don't know why the young mom thing bothered me. I think because when people say "young mom" it's usually with the tone that you shouldn't be having kids. I've got a husband and a mortgage that will age you hahaha
  • I would think a young mom would be before 22 honestly.  I think at 22 you are just about out of college and while you might not have your shit together, you are pretty close to being a full adult.  IDK.

Also, despite the two bottles of spiked eggnog and all the beer, we are not alcoholics I swear LOL

Hahaha I love you. Every time my mom comes over she's like why do you never have beer anymore?! A pregnant lady lives here mom?! DH switched to Scotch

So I realized I'm probably like 60 years old at heart. There's a young moms thread on the 2nd tri board. It goes up to 25 which I will be in January but I just though "ew". Is 25 considered young to be a mom? I seriously feel old as hell on a daily basis.

I'm 22 and while I wouldn't consider myself an old mom, I wouldn't really consider myself a "young" mom either. I'm living with my husband in our own apartment paying our own bills and we both have "adult" jobs. I guess when I think young moms I typically think still in HS or college. I've had my year of being legal (21) and got that out of the way. Now I can be more mature about things and not worry about missing out.

  • So I walked into the auto parts store and selected the part I came for, went to check out and double checked with the guy at the counter about what I'm doing to the car and what this part will do (I'm installing a 4-flat wire connecter with converter box to my existing wiring harness, if anyone was wondering) and was making friendly conversation with the guy, talking about how ridiculous it was that the guy at uhaul wanted to charge me almost $100 for the installation, when he informs me that I could probably take it to an oil change place and play the "dumb blonde girl" part and have them do it for cheaper. And then he mentioned how surprised he was that I was a woman and I knew what the hell I was doing.

    Ugh. Men.

I once went into a gas station/ repair shop in college to buy power steering fluid as my car's power steering wasn't working. The attendant looked at me like I was an idiot and proceeded to ask "do you even know where this goes?" Hmmm... I don't know, maybe under the hood where the cap says POWER STEERING FLUID! I grew up on a farm and my grandpa was a mechanic and ran is own shop until I was about 20, I can usually figure out the basics. Makes me hate men somedays.

Also, I'm currently getting a pedicure. This is amazing.

I'm the last of three, and I'm pretty sure my parents are so senile that by the time it came to teach me these important life skills like tire changing, they couldn't actually remember if they'd done it or not so they just never did.  There are lots of things they apparently are realizing they forgot to show me... lol.

I have a very nice foster dog, super easy, but she's meeting an adopter tomorrow and I'm really happy about it.  Damn dog has two days in a row dragged laundry out into the yard and scattered it everywhere.  Ugggggh.
  • I can't wait for Christmas music....but I must hold out until Thanksgiving is over. I'm secretly pleased when I hear it playing in a store.

Well I may/may not be MIA this weekend. We are currently on our way to my in laws house. I really hope this visit goes well because I'm not in the mood for drama.
  • Pretty sure I'm getting a sinus infection ugh I feel like crap and don't feel like making anything to eat hoping my husband will finish dinner while I have crappy Lipton soup. I usually make home made soup I just don't have it in me tonight.
  • herfst80 said:

@Stormiewinter; you have to eat more red meat? In Holland red meat is on the "whatnottoeatwhenpregnantlist" due to possible harmfull bacteria...Was wondering why this is different in the states...

We are given the ok for red meat so long as it is cooked thoroughly. I guess everywhere has different standards. She just advised it because red meat is high in iron and the iron from it is easier to absorb than the iron from vegetables. So I made a delicious beef stew this morning in the slow cooker and enjoyed every bite!!

@skruhmin so glad all seems well and hope you are on the mend quickly.

We are going to attempt DS's bday party again tomorrow. So I am going to spend the night making a new cake (I threw out all the food I made last week in case I got some stomach flu germs in it). Inam really looking forward to having all the kids running around though.

That is one of the worst things about being sick! When you feel too yucky to actually make yourself some comforting soup so you're stuck with the crappy kind. Everyone else gets homemade soup when they're sick, why not us!? :( I'd make DH try but last time he screwed up at making canned soup *facepalm*. If I'm lucky he goes out to Panera to buy me some.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • @cmerribury I have always loved twizzlers and would always finish a bag on a road trip. We took a 15h drive back in July and just the smell of the bag of twizzlers my mom sent with us made me gag a little. I had taken 4 negative pregnancy tests at that point and could not figure of what the hell was wrong with me. Figured it out a couple days after we were home ;)

  • So I kept my kindergartener home from school today with a fever (no other symptoms). Then about halfway thru the day I started feeling like shitzoid myself. Now I feel like I have the worst cold ever (no fever at least though) and I committed yesterday to taking care of a friend's dogs last minute which means driving to her house twice a day (30 minutes each way) until Wednesday. Just got home. My nose won't stop running and I can't stop peeing myself every two seconds from sneezing. And my sick kiddo just wants to snuggle up with me and I don't want to be touched. Poor guy.
And on top of it all I'm having some more random bleeding. I mean wth? It's not tons, so I'm trying not to overly stress out about it, but this has never happened with the other pregnancies so I can't help but feel a bit anxious.

Ugh. I'm so utterly disgusted right now. I'm always a day or two behind on my shows because well, I run on my families time (which I'm not complaining about at all). I just went to watch the recent episode of Scandal. While I hate the cheating that goes on in that show it's got a good story line and it's interesting. However, tonight they officially lost a fan. I didn't even finish the whole episode. I'm one of those women that completely disagree with abortions and for them to put that into the show the way they did. Nope. I just can't. Totally unacceptable to me. Anywho, I needed to get that off my chest because it really bothered me. Now I'm going to watch some Emeril or Juila and eat something to perk me back up. :)
