  • @skrumin; good to hear you and babyboy are fine!
  • @Stormiewinter; you have to eat more red meat? In Holland red meat is on the "whatnottoeatwhenpregnantlist" due to possible harmfull bacteria...Was wondering why this is different in the states...

Red meat is good for iron. Maybe it's processed differently here than there? Hmm, that's a good question though.

Do you mean all red meat or just under cooked red meat?

It's Friday and it's the Friday before Thanksgiving. Definitely showing movies today. Sorry not sorry.

While it's okay to eat here, it's highly suggested that you eat it either medium well or well done so that it is fully cooked which should kill any possible bacteria. However, I still eat it medium-medium rare (more medium) because I like the flavor better and haven't had any issues.

  • @skruhmin so relieved!  Sending hugs and restful thoughts your way!

@ecwk My teacher in 8th grade didn't find out she was pregnant until she went into labor.  She was also our cheerleading coach, so we all spent a lot of time with her, and none of us would have ever guessed at all that she was pregnant.  She was a shorter lady who was naturally wider around her tummy.  She had gotten a birth control shot that stops your periods, so that didn't bother her.  She also attributed any weight gain and other symptoms to that shot (it was the first time she'd had it).  Crazy thing is, she did competition barrel and pole racing and roping her entire pregnancy.  She went to the hospital thinking her appendix was rupturing.  The squad all got together and bought her a car seat so they could take baby home from the hospital.

OMG. Can you imagine?? "Oh hey, doctors! My appendix is rupturing, help!" "Um, no, ma'am, you're in active labor" *faints*
That's a way bigger surprise than being Team Green! I've heard of it happening and before I was pregnant I guess I could have imagined it, but now, even with minimal symptoms, I just can't!

Oh ok. I don't eat it any other way than well and med-well so I guess I didn't really think about it not being really safe eaten less cooked.

  • @skruhmin wonderful news to hear this morn!!! Still sending prayers for quick UTI recovery and more textbook pregnancy.

One of the girls in our BF group had the I didn't know I was pregnant thing happen to her too - apparently she got pregnant again when the baby she had just had was 8w old. She had an 8w old newborn! Found out she was pregnant at 28w and delivered at 34w I think. So she essentially knew she was preggo for like 6w! And then had an infant and a preemie. She came into BFing group

@SarahFoley725 hubs took a pic of me like that with baby#3, sitting on the floor in the open fridge, eating chocolate pudding out of a giant tub. He still laughs about it. I've been more careful this time when he's about LOL

  • Honestly, if I was someone that wasn't trying to have a baby or was on BC, didn't have regular periods and got KU, I GUESS I could see not knowing for a while. I have really wide hips, so while my belly is growing, it's kind of spilling to the sides instead of just out so it COULD be mistaken for like a beer gut or something. Also, if I didn't know to be feeling for movements/kicks I would attribute anything I felt to gas lol.

I have never been "in tune" with my body like some of you ladies here so I think those are also probable the kind of people that don't realize they are pregnant.

Shit that has happened in my life to a friend. Only A&E said she was 4-5 months (she was confused as she had not done the nasty in 8m+).... They thought that they were being nice by sending her immediately across the street for an US at the womens... by the time she got there she was in full labor ad couple hours later she had a beautiful baby boy

Hahaha I love you. Every time my mom comes over she's like why do you never have beer anymore?! A pregnant lady lives here mom?! DH switched to Scotch

So I realized I'm probably like 60 years old at heart. There's a young moms thread on the 2nd tri board. It goes up to 25 which I will be in January but I just though "ew". Is 25 considered young to be a mom? I seriously feel old as hell on a daily basis.

  • I still can't believe I'm 30. I feel like you all must be older than me. Probably just because y'all have real jobs and stuff. I went from working retail, to being a nanny, to staying home. I don't feel like I've ever really been "out in the workforce." And I'm the youngest of my friends, so I just feel like I'm the youngest in every group I'm in. Haha.

I was 24 when DD1 was born. Was I a young mom then? Hm. I think it's trending that women are older before having babies, but "young mom" to me just means like under 21.

@SarahFoley725 I'm 37...so "young" doesn't apply to me AT ALL anymore. I feel ancient...seriously. I was 32 when my first was born and felt old even then, but now. Man, I need a walker and I'm only 21 weeks!

This is like putting a giant red button in front of a child and telling them not to push it. I lasted all of 10 seconds. I must admit - for being a genital warts thread, it could have been a whole lot worst than that.

  • @SarahFoley725 Aw man!! Does this mean I'll be an "old" first time mom because I'll be 33!?! I think it's an ok age but I definitely think "young moms" are those under 21.

@bntfroggie ugh! I don't like anyone messing with my food when I'm not pregnant. I imagine I'd be a wreck if someone touched my food now!

@kynbar5 I still think she's lying about them being skin tags. I grossed myself out with my own post! Lol! But I'm kinda of used to going through that speech and hearing kids ask gross follow up questions so I can sort of keep a straight face. I fall apart as soon as kids leave the classroom though. It's either hilarious questions so I crack up or they're super gross so I'm trying not barf.
