Oh and YES to the anterior placenta frustrations.  I feel wiggles here and there but nothing strong.  I'm so used to my other two ninjas who were hurting me by now.  Someday soon hopefully DH will be able to feel baby boy.
I don't know if I have an anterior placenta, but I have felt nothing and I'll be 18wks on Thursday, :-\ I'm not concerned just wish I could feel him or her, but it will come with time.

Oh @skruhmin no fair. Really hope you're feeling better fast. (Adding now that I'm at the end, glad you're on the mend!)
@soxfan9968 I have some swissmiss in my fridge - so they still make it. You can call the company and order I bet - I did that with my Stella d'Oro b'ast treats that aren't available in our area; I *needed* them for morning sickness and they delivered a case to my door! And some grocery stores will special order for you.
@MrsLeanMeanClean cute announcement! Best cake toppers ever!
@lightrox I keep thinking of checking it TWD (haven't seen it before) but after everyone's fb posts y'day I just don't know! I did watch DW last night though <3

  • Morning :)  Happy Monday!

Had a scare yesterday- my kid came home from her father's house yesterday, just as baby was kicking.  I invited her over to feel, and she put her hand on my tummy, but somehow she fell over and pushed way down on my stomach to where it hurt!  She blamed it on the dog who had also jumped on the couch the same time, but didn't touch me, and from what I saw didn't touch her, but she claims he hit her sore knee, causing her to fall over. Then baby quit moving for a little, but baby picked up moving again a little later, and this morning has been moving all over.  I'm loving the feels!

  • @skruhmin yay to new house! Booo to still being sick.

@charley15 eek i hope everything is fine. Your daughter sounds clumsy like me!

@oceanchild I hope you have a great appointment tomorrow!

  • I don't feel like digging around for the weird dreams thread, so I'll just random it here - I had this dream yesterday morn (in the scant three hours of sleep I manage to get every night between midnight and 3am) that I had a pet dinosaur. It was carnivorous, a Dilophosaurus, and it started out rather small and manageable, but grew exponentially in days, and pregnant me was the only one who could handle it, bc it would eat my husband if I wasn't with him. I had to take it outside to pee (it lifted its leg like a dog), and it was chilly outside and the dinosaur told me that to remember it was cold blooded and would rather just keep peeing on my kid's bed. I was so stressed out trying to figure out what to do with this thing before the baby was born! I felt guilty trying to rehome it bc I felt it was my responsibility. LOL
This was the most amazing thing I have read in a while.

YESSSS I'm in so many of those resale groups. I'm kind of a junkie. I'm trying not to buy anything though because we do have our registry.

Question: my friends are throwing me a baby shower and I want to help them pay for SOMETHING but they won't allow it. Is there anything that y'all think I can do to sneak some help in there? Should I just get them gift cards after the fact to kind of help reimburse/thank them. This is always my job, I'm always the planner and doer so it's hard to take the back seat. I hate being a burdon.

Shameless confession I took a 20 week photo this morning and I feel SO cute. I can't wait until Wednesday to AW it in the bumpday thread.
  • @skruhmin we have a kids' table and I throw a splat mat (a babysteals purchase five years ago) under it when we get out playdoh or paints. And with the playdoh I give them each a baking tray to work on, bc the sides help keep the crumbs in and on the table a little bit better :)

  • The hardest part is keeping the 19mo away from it. I try to time it when he's asleep but if he's up he takes pieces and runs around. And inevitably he will have rainbow poop later.

I'd not worry about it - just enjoy your turn and let them give you this gift :) you can give them thank-yous later like maybe a Starbucks card for their favorite holiday drink or something, but don't sneak anything in.

  • @skruhmin I'd just buy a cheap clear shower curtain and put that under a kids play table. We usually force our son to use it only at the kitchen table, which makes clean up easier, but usually means he doesn't get to play with it a lot.

@oceanchild That dream is AMAZING! I had my first truly horrible pregnancy dream last night, that my son had cancer. We have a few friends going through this right now, so it really hit home. We kept taking him to this weird clinic for seemingly non-cancer-related issues, and our real estate agent was in charge and (predictably) had no idea what he was doing. It was really upsetting. Needless to say I did not sleep well last night and my jaw is aching from the TMJ.

Happy Monday, y'all! I, for one, can't wait until this day is over. 48 hours until my a/s and new pics of my wee little man! :)

  • @mrspepper05 congratulations! Wow March is a boys month for sure. We had boy names for dayssss and not a single girl name so I know how that curve ball feels haha!

@2goofykids I giggled a little at your misfortune. I've heard it gets worse the more kids you have. I peed myself once when I was puking if it makes you feel any better.
  • So, totally random (but that's what this board is for, right?) but today I finally chose the cloth diaper rental service we'll use for newborn diapers. I have a huge stash of diapers for when he's bigger, but needed something for the first 12 weeks. I'm so excited...it's the first thing I've actually done for this baby. Fun! :)

I didn't know such a thing existed! We aren't doing CD but that's still really cool.

*Whine* working in special Ed can be so hard sometimes. Today my LO is having a hard time with his teeth. He keeps chewing on his fingers and either gagging himself or biting himself so hard he cries. He doesn't understand why it's happening and he gets so mad at me any time I take his hands out of his mouth. I keep saying "I'm just trying to help you" but he doesn't know what that means. I don't want him to hurt himself :(

  • Just need to do a little vent.  Got a call from my OB last Monday about elevated AFP levels in my second trimester screen.  She said their office would send a referral and my results to a specialist whose office would call me to make an appointment.  Didn't hear from them that day so I called my OB's office on Tuesday and was told if I hadn't heard from the specialist by Thursday to call them back.  Still didn't hear so I called my OB's office on Thursday and was told they would reach out to the specialist's office again.  Still no word on Friday, so my OB's office said it might help if I called the specialist's office directly.  Specialist's office claims they never received the referral and results from my OB's office, who insist they did send them.  They agree to send them again.  I call the specialist's office today and am told they still have not received the referral and results.  I talk to my OB's office, who tells me they are "lying" which isn't super helpful to me.  Finally the specialist's office agrees to set up the appointment without the referral which is fine (my insurance does not require a referral) but I'm pretty sure they need my bloodwork results in order to know what exactly they are looking for in the appointment.  Thankfully, my OB isn't too worried about the elevated levels because I had a normal anatomy scan, but it is still so frustrating.  Add pregnancy hormones into the mix and I'm practically in tears after every phone call trying to get this sorted out.  Ugh.  Will be glad on Wednesday when this is all over.  Okay, end vent.

So I only ever used 3 way calling in middle/high school and I don't even know if it's still a thing but I feel like it would be SO useful in situations like these! How annoying :( Be sure to check back in with how the specialist appointment goes!

  • Hi ladies!

@oceanchild love that dream and love your little Whovian companion nickname :x

@skruhmin congrats on the house and glad you're feeling better. Good to see you around!

@katelin318 I can sort of relate!

I have to get a level two ultrasound. They rang me today to schedule it but can't schedule it for my local office because it's booked up. So they're booking it for a much further away office. So they booked me for Thursday at three and left me a message to tell me. Even though when I had been on the phone earlier with then I had confirmed an appointment with my midwife at three thirty in my own office. Eurgh. So they rescheduled that appointment for 9am. So now I'm just going to take all day Thursday off and I have Friday off already because I have to go to a conference. And I have to take a day off next week too for another appointment. Yikes!
Anywayyyyy does anyone here have experience with a level 2 ultrasound? I've done so much research on the irregularity they found at my A/S and combined with my low risk NT scan and sequential screening it doesn't seem to be worrying when it is isolated. Sorry for super long post. I go between being oh so positive to really sad :(

In other news, baby has been kicking me all day! It's so darn cool I just love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hope you're all well.
    Oh @mrspepper05 congratulations!!!!!
And @bntfroggie I just felt kicks for the first time at 18+6 so hope you feel them soon!! :)

Don't know if it was considered level 2, but with DS2, I had lots of issues - premature contractions and they couldn't get a good reading for some of the A/S markers.  Because of the ctx, they had me do my A/S with a perinatologist and the scan was seriously a 90 minute scan - holy crap that's a LOT!!  Even then we couldn't get a good reading on his spine - he loved curling it up and keeping it against my uterus, so I had to go get another reading at 23 weeks with the same perinatologist.  My son is completely healthy, he just loved giving us scares.  Side benefit was I got to see a lot of him on ultrasound.  Good luck!

  • Ohmygosh I don't know where that dumb things people said thread is but my clueless husband made me laugh sooo hard earlier.

I was at work and I text him that I was in the mood for a burger or breakfast sandwich, something with meat. He says "do you not have anything like that with you?"
What...where do you think I store such things? I asked him if I was supposed to alacazam some food with a magic wand. He's so our of it sometimes but it gave me a good laugh.
  • @oceanchild they are ADORABLE!! Also, thanks because now I've got the Paw Patrol song stuck in my head! Lol
