  • @karasykes I like it, congratulations on your little lady!

we've finally decided on a name for our little girl... Aubrey Quinn. it seems most of our family isn't a huge fan of the name but oh well :)

Have you considered Audrey-just a thought-it's similar, but feminine?!

I knew a girl in elementary school named Aubrey. I also met a man named Aubrey later in life. I think it's fairly gender neutral.

I've never met a guy Aubrey-only a girl. But I know traditionally it was a male name. She just seemed a little disappointed her family didn't love it, and I wanted to throw out the feminine Audrey. Just an idea, in case she hadn't thought of it!
  • We FINALLY have agreed on some names... Feeling super accomplished with this as I was feeling hopeless! We couldn't agree on anything. We're team green, so have names for both boy/girl..

    For girl:
    Kinley Quinn
(Quinn is after DH's mom, leaning towards this one)

    Or

Adeline Jean (Jean is after my mom, like that we could call her AJ)

    For boy:
    Quinn Alexander

Ahhhhhhhhh.... Can't wait to meet this baby!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Agree with @BowWowBowie! Plus, AJ is a super cute girl's nickname. My husband's name is Quinn and I love it. :)
  • @kmkrushi I knew someone would say something like that haha. It's very important to my husband and not so Important to me, so it's a compromise im willing to make!
  • We went with Rosalind Nicole. We've had some people hate it but it really doesn't matter, we both love it so that'll be her name. Just a few more weeks!

That's one of my favorite names! Rosalind Patricia is our backup if we change our mind about our girl name.
  • I'm 35 weeks anxious to meet my baby boy Keyon.

I like Alexander too. It's such a great strong name. I feel like Sam is too much of a nn, I'd go with Samuel or Samson, something like that. And Huxley just makes me Brave New World, great book, but I'm not sure it's one I'd want my kid saddled with a reference too forever.

  • Agree with Alexander Lyle. I love Lyle as a first name, too.

    Cute names, @Ceridwen77!
  • I really like Sienna Evangeline for a girl. Honestly, I'm not crazy about Calvin but all that matters is that you like it:)))
  • Agree with Alexander Lyle. I love Lyle as a first name, too.

    Cute names, @Ceridwen77!

Another vote for Alexander Lyle. All are good except for Huxley
  • We haven't shared our names with anyone. I'm deciding to do this now in case DH & I have blinders on and we are missing something horrible about these names. Appreciate honest advice (we are team green)

Our second girl is named Siena Lyn. We decided not to spell it will two n's because of the meaning and we wanted it to be different. Some family members didn't like it right away but it grew on them. Plus they have no choice since it's our child. Otherwise when strangers meet us they always say how beautiful her name is.

Also, I love the middle name that was a contender for a first name at one point with both my girls. Your boy name is alright but I'm not one for not unique names so it is hard to get on board with a lot of these names.

Is Sienna trendy? We are trying to avoid trendy names. We considered Evangeline as the first name nn Eva.

@Kern91 Thanks for the comments! Siena with one n is the correct spelling for the Italian city, but looks like 2 n's are more of the accepted spelling for the name. I am up in the air with the spelling and just want to make sure the kid doesn't always have to correct people. Do you find that happening a lot?

I actually like Evangeline better as a first name. It's beautiful and very unique.
  • I love Sienna, Evangeline, AND Calvin lol. I don't think Sienna is trendy at all but if it's a girl and you have her the fifth you have to name her Evangeline so you can call her Evie (V for Vendetta, all time favorite movie ha)

She is almost 3 now and between meeting people, going to appointments and daycare I had 1 person not know how to pronounce it. Told that person once and haven't had to correct anyone since.

Look at the social security website and see how each of the names have trended in the past 10 years or so. Behindthename.com can give you some more information on each of them too. FWIW I don't think any of your names are too trendy.

Thanks that was really helpful. I looked at the social security site and it's actually gone down in popularity since 2007 (highest rank was 170) and last year was 260.
