We were going between Eleanor Mae for a girl and Silas René for a boy. Mae being a family name on my side and René being a family name on his side. But he was very obviously a boy all of those months ago when we found out so he will be a Silas.
I want to name baby Adelaide but DH will just NOT get on board. I keep trying to ask him and he keeps shutting me down. We will probably go with Estelle Ann. Someone tell me Adelaide is an ugly name and overused or something to change my mind about it (

Adelaide sounds like a good name for a cow, although I have no idea why...

I love that name too! But if you're trying to talk yourself out of it... Maybe think about how close the word is to 'lemonade' It's a stretch, but worth a try!

You could argue (to yourself) that Adelaide will be super trendy this year because of "Age of Adaline" and people will try to avoid using Adaline by going for Adelaide...or something.

This also crossed my mind. I have loved the name Adelaide for years tho! But people won't know that, they would just think I was going with the trend!

Anything that could have an "Addy" nickname is super trendy right now. Also Adelaide is the name of a character in Guys and Dolls.

I was thinking we could call her Stell or Stella for short! You ladies do an awesome job of making me love Estelle more than Adelaide

Maybe Adaline /Adeline? That was my top pick for a girls name!
We're naming our little guy Skylar and he's due the day after thanksgiving
Isn't Skylar predominantly a girls name? Just asking out of pure curiosity because I have never seen it as a guys name before.. That is in no way a judge mental question!

It's a spelling variant of the surnamed, Schuyler, and is used for both males and females since it started to get popular in the 80s. I've met Skylar boys and girls, although i think the usage as a girl's name is generally more popular.

Twin Girls here! I think we have decided on Abbie Inez & Marley Grace. All the names except for Grace are significant in the family. Abbie was his late father's nickname. Inez was my late grandmother's name and my middle name. Marley was my other grandmothers maiden name. He doesn't like Marley because of the movie but that doesn't bother me because every name is going to have something less favorable tied to it somehow.

I was in the same boat as you grapesoda1111 I loved Adelaide but my DH didn't, we ended up with Adelina but I love Estelle it was on my short list!
Love the name. For those that think it's a masculine name haven't seen the hand that ricks the cradle. No offense but the crazy nanny's name was Payton/Peyton. The middle name is hippie-ish, but not stripperish, that's rude. Enjoy your new bundle and just be who you are and be blessed.
Oh, I am having a boy, Xavier Omiseye (Oh -me -see -ay) the middle name was my father's name. But right now while he's inside doing his growing thing his name is pain, butthole, pup, monk, monster all with affection of course!!

After long time of debate ive posted a couple times about the names we couldnt decide on we have chosen a name. Olivia Grace... Ive liked the name olive since i was a kid from a book i use to read all the ime but hubby refused to acknowledge it as a name so we just finally agreed olivia would work (even though i feel its too popular right now) and i can just call her olive! So excited to have this stress off.

It's a stretch, but worth a try!
