It has been super quiet today, especially after quite the rambunctious Monday.
I went and bought a blood pressure monitor today and of course took my stats while sitting in the parking lot after I left the store. 128/79, so on the high end of normal, but lower than the 130 something over 80 something at my doc's office last week. What is the deal with the dr.'s office that freaks me out so much??
Mine is typically higher at the doctors office too. If it's high at the beginning they usually take it at the end and it's lower. It's probably attributed to rushing in, any kind of nerves about the appointment, whatever.

I just got out all our decorations too! Which is funny because I am totally one of those "Halloween isn't until October" type people...this year I'm just too excited to wait!
I put up my "fall" decorations on Saturday. I mean, some of those MAY have been Halloween decorations and some may also be Thanksgiving decorations....had a surge of energy and didn't want to waste it lol.
Alright, ladies. I'm seriously struggling with my job and need some advice. So, my boss never ordered my maternity shirts. And I can't tuck my shirt in anymore because I have to wear my leggings to work now. This has been all well and good for the last 8 weeks or so. Today, my boss told me I can't have free meals at work anymore unless I tuck my shirt in. But payday is a week away so I can't get new pants right now and my maternity shirts won't get in before I leave this job in November. I feel like she's been trying to get me fired lately, writing me up for complete nonsense. My supervisor is on a 3 week vacation, so reporting her isn't really an option. What should I do? Do I just take my food to work and continue to not tuck my shirt in? So I just suck it up and attempt to button my pants that haven't fit for weeks?
Is that a legit policy?? Having the option not to tuck in if you don't want food? Is your boss always there when you are to enforce this weird policy? Is there a corporate number for an HR department that you can call to ask about this? Do they by chance just have larger shirts on hand that you could wear? Would bringing your own food in be a big deal (I mean, not that I would be quick to pass on free food but still)?
Sorry for all of the questions, just trying to get a feel of the situation.

What kind of job is it? Can you wear a maternity tank underneath and tuck that in? Sounds like it's a little bit of discrimination to me, which is not legal. Is there an HR department you can go to?

@2goofykids Is she actually allowed to withhold lunches from you if it is something the company provides? I would ask someone in HR if it is an issue for you. Especially if it is being used as a "punishment" for not tucking your shirt in. When I worked at our local grocery store, we weren't allowed to make employees tuck in their shirt once they told us they were pregnant. I don't know if that was a company thing or if it was somehow related to a law though.
I hope that things get better for you! At least you won't have to deal with it for too much longer.
Maybe I'm a bit shameless and spiteful but I'd walk in ill fitting leggings and tuck in my shirt just to make them uncomfortable and remind them that it's their failure to order your maternity shirts and you tried looking presentable but you were being reprimanded for it.
I work at McDonald's. So our policies concerning employee treatment are actually conveniently vague. @flowerpower5838 I've been wearing leggings and a long work polo for the last 8 weeks and there has been no problem from her or any of my managers. Bringing my lunch wouldn't be a big deal, except that employees also aren't allowed to use any of the many empty fridges we have in our store.
@MrsPittman13 as far as I can tell the only way shes allowed to do that is if somehow I'm not in complete uniform. Except that she's the one who didn't order my maternity shirts, so thats sort of her fault.
@soxfan9968 now theres an idea..... Hmmm... Tomorrow may feature my pre-pregnancy work pants held together with a hair tie. Then everyone would have an issue!

I think I'm going to call and complain to HR.
I would absolutely call whatever HR option you had available to you. Pretty sure that middle management holding free food (or anything for that matter) over someone's head is probably frowned upon by upper management, especially when the person is pregnant.
@2goofykids Also if you happen to still be working there when you buy a pair of maternity pants, I would totally walk in with my shirt tucked into the full panel stretchy part looking so ridiculous and let her know that you're fully committed to being in full uniform. What a b.

So I can't call HR. Because my franchise is independently owned. And I can only get the HR number for our owner from my boss. So this is totally sketchy! I'm going in with my old pants tomorrow and a hot pink hair tie holding my pants together. Maybe she'll send me home.
Holy guacamole ... I am away for two days and everyone wakes back up here.. Here goes
@2goofykids : definitely not in accordance with labor laws in Texas .. You have some recourse .. I would pow wow with HR

Hi ladies!! @Smom901316 Woohoo!! Wonderful news, I'm so happy for you! @2goofykids ditto what everyone else said, that is discrimination, I hope you can get it resolved! I'm totally on board with all you gals excited for Halloween/October. I unfortunately have had to switch back on the AC because it's so damn humid. I feel so uncomfortable all the time! Also, bought my first pair of maternity jeans today! The big ones that go up over the bump. Um, do women who've never been pregnant know about these? They're awesome! I'm just saying they'd be a wise choice at Christmas or thanksgiving! Hello comfort!! Edit spelling
@2goofykids good luck with the work situation! The whole thing sucks, and it's not the first time I've heard of pregnancy discrimination from McDs! Grrrr!
Oh man, someone started a "3D/4D u/s pic" thread in 3rd tri. They just want to see everyone's 3D/4D pics. Should have called it "creepiest u/s pic" thread! I don't know why but those seriously weird me out. I've never gotten one but know several people that have. My cousin got them done so many times during her pregnancies and would always been showing the pics off. Just eww for some reason lol.
March '16 December Siggy Challenge - Favorite Christmas Movies/Quotes
I had an aunt offer to buy me a 3-d ultrasound as a gift, and I politely declined. They honestly give me the creeps. I think I can wait until he gets here to see his squishy face!
What would you gals think of a thread where we (at least those who are finding out) can announce the baby's sex? That way, announcement threads won't get lost. A poll could be included too!
