Ooooh, seconding the idea of a food board! I cook all of our meals on Sunday and we just reheat all week, so Army-sized works for me, as well!

  • Even though I already ate breakfast all this food talk is making my hungry!

So annoyed that target cancelled my baby order from last week even though everything is still available. They should really give you an explanation in the email so you don't have to call. I hate calling! I tried chat and the guy told me it was cancelled from reasons and I had to call to find out why. Seriously for reasons? I couldn't have figured that one out on my own.

Yeah that's rude. Forcing you to use vacation leave.

That's strange. We  normally shut down for a week and a half to two weeks for Christmas and New Years but they normally pay us and don't require us to take vacation. It's def a nice perk since I only get two weeks vacation and no sick time. Kind of rude in my opinion.

They have one that's not too sweet. It's got like crunchy crumbs And frosting on top and pumpkin filling in the middle.

I always thought this was the weirdest thing. How can you force people to use time off? So odd.

  • Any east coast ladies on here??? I have a business trip next week that requires "business casual". Around my neck of the woods I can easily determine what that actually means.....but not sure about the New Haven, Connecticut area??? I just need to know if I need to go shopping for maternity dress pants, or if khakis and a nice blouse will do.....I am leaning towards the dress pants, just in case. I would rather be over dressed than under dressed.

January siggy challenge - Pregnant lady problems

  • Woohoo! I went grocery shopping and came back to 37 new posts!

I ate so many donuts when I was pregnant with DD2, but even all the talk of donuts here doesn't make me want one this time around. Weird. Although, I have been obsessed with Dunkin Donuts chocolate glazed donut flavored k-cups lately. Mmmm. I guess I'm getting my donut fix in coffee form.

I second (or maybe third) the food thread! Meal planning is one of my least favorite activities. So sick of all my old stand-bys.

  • I had to come to Phoenix for a funeral...no one I knew immediately just here to lend some support to my sister. But since I am not at work i can actually get on and talk to you ladies for once. Other than the extremely long drive alone with a million pee stops, I think its kind of nice being away from work for a few days. Sleeping in and enjoying this hotel bed doesn't hurt either.

This reminds me . . . every Christmas, my husband comes home and says "we have to give $20 to Judie [his boss] and $20 to the owner of the company for Christmas." It's like not an optional "chip in however much you want for a gift" thing. His manager expects him to fork over $40. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but still kind of annoys me. I've never worked in an office setting. Is that normal?

this is what my husband's company does every year - once he had taken time off with me for one of the babies and had no vacay left so had to file for unemployment coverage for that week or something weird. now he is careful to save days for Xmas

I would go with dress pants...I always feel so uncomfortable when I am under dressed. Dress pants and a nice blows is always safe.

we always did this on my office too - we chipped in cash for the secretary, the office manager, and the 8 doctors. i hated that crap. i mean, i don't hate giving people things, but an insinuated obligatory "we are all giving X amount of money to these 3 things" right at Xmas is kind of difficult. it was normal in our office though. we actually used to have someone that went around with a damn envelope collecting 5-10 bucks for random everything ("Nurse FirstName's grandaughter is graduating kindergarten" or receptionists' daughter whose name idk is having a bridal shower) until a few of us said fuck that i don't even know the grand-daughter/bride, and then it became optional, and if you didn't give, your name didn't go in the card. no shits given man

I'd say for Connecticut you'd be safe with either dress pants/skirt and a top/cardigan (it's chilly right now), or a dress. I don't think you'll be overdressed in dress pants. We're a bit stuffy on the east coast. :)

Our front-end contractor was a nightmare.  Very standoffish and not fun to deal with.  The back-end guy has been awesome and is definitely leaving things on a great note with the company.
