We are all set and on our way home. Had some pretty bad left side pain "smaller ovary" but I was given some good meds and I am better now. Now to get home and sleep. Ohh... We got 24 eggies at this point so I will fx for great fertilization and we end up with a good number

Got mine done this morning a well. Hope all went well with you. I have moderate OHSS and in a lot of discomfort from the retrieval...they got 35 eggs though so it's worth it=)
Hi all! New to these forums so I dont know the lingo quite yet. I'm starting my first IVF round this month- looking for retrieval and ET first week of october. This will be my first attempt TTC- my husband has cystic fibrosis which comes w blocked vas deferens in men. IVF w ICSI is the only way for us to conceive. Luckily, I was not found to a gene carrier and will not have to get PGD. Im currently on BCP and will start injections next week.
I see some you ladies talking about insurance coverage for IVF- if you don't mind me asking, what states do you live in? We live in Texas which was exemptions in he insurance codes for self-insured employers. My hubby will probably move around a lot for his job and we will want to consider if IVF will be covered when we move to new states. Hopefully round #1 will be successful and we will have some extra embryos for freezing so future rounds will not be needed (fingers crossed!)

Me: 27/ DH: 29
Dx: obstructive azoospermia
IVF#1: October 2015
10/7/2015: ER 11 retrieved, 8 mature, 7 fertilized w/ ICSI
10/12/2015: Transferred 5AA and 4AA blasts, froze one 4AA and 4BB
We got 24 eggs at retrieval.... Now to wait and see how many fertilize this evening we will know more tomorrow. Friday is the set date of our Double embryo tranfer!!!! They have decided that we will do a 3dt instead of the original 5dt. We don't mind having multiples but the doctor feels we might bite off more then we chew if we do a double at 5dt. So here we go FX

Hi @caitiemae . Welcome! I'm at the waiting stage between the retrieval and transfer. We are doing PGS and waiting on results. I'm in Texas as well. Unfortunately, our insurance covers no treatment so we are out of pocket. Let us know if we can answer any questions.
I noticed that I was in a good amount of pain right after retrieval. I do not know if that was OHSS but I seem to be fine now. But the Doc's told me that I probably won't get true symptoms until after transfer on Friday if I do in fact have it. But boy is my uterus sore. It is almost like I did abs goddess 4 hours straight.

@athompson0308 wow! 35 is incredible, congrats! Sorry to hear about the OHSS, I hope young relief quickly! FX for your ET if doing fresh!
@caitiemae welcome! You and I are on the same schedule! It's my first IVF too. I live in NY and on DH insurance we have 3 IUI OR 3 IVF in our lifetime. So we are using that up this year. Mine is state insurance and we will use it next, it provides up to 50k for infertility treatments. In general, NY has laws requiring some fertility treatment coverage, but what is covered definitely varies and as we just found out, covered does not mean free, there are still significant OOP costs for us. Best of luck on your cycle!!
Lol, I love my DH he came home from my procedure tucked me in bed and promptly fell asleep poor guy today was rough on him I myself was up watching netflix with a heating pad....

Hi @caitiemae I'm on my first round of IVF and my ER and ET are also in early October. Good luck to you!
I live in northern VA but my insurance is through my employer in MD. My insurance (UHC) pays 90% of IVF treatments for in-network doctors and 70% for out-of-network doctors. I am allowed three treatments or $100K, whichever comes first. IUI is not covered, which is part of the reason we skipped it and are going straight to IVF. I hope that helps!
@athompson0308 lol, you've got embabies for days! Congrats! So excited for you. A day six transfer is great, doesn't that indicate they are very optimistic about quality? <:-P will you transfer 1 or 2 embabies?
Monday is soon and far away for you now! We are here as needed...rest and enjoy a lovely weekend full of pre-transfer pampering!!
Hooray! I hope you both keep us updated as they grow! Very positive starts to September, thank you for leading us through. FX for successful ET and BFPs for you both!
I recently started work again and haven't been able to check in. I just read through all the posts-- WOW, so many great things happened!!! Welcome all who are new! Congratulations to all who had success ETs!!! Love all the good news, keeps me positive!

Hi Girls! My husband and I are starting our first ivf cycle this month as well. I am currently on my last week of birth control pills and started my Lupron injections 2 nights ago. I'm not sure when I will start the stims and when my ER and transfer will be. All I know is I have a suppression check on September 18th and my doctor said I will mostly likely start stims shortly after that. Is anyone in the MA area and using RSC or seeing Dr. Pauli? So far I've been really happy with them but would love to hear other experiences.
If any one is interested I found a great detail book called IVF: A patient's guide. Since it's my first round this has been a huge help in explaining the difference between up and down regulating in the different protocols, the different drugs and more that I just haven't gotten to yet. An easy and informative read for those of us who just absolutely need to know! (It's available on kindle)
Thanks! I'm going to look into it. My nurse told me I need to step away from the Internet and stop researching everything but she didn't say anything about reading books .
We are set for ET in the morning at 10!!! We(me...) are so nervous. I am trying to relax and enjoy as hubbie says I already did the hard part but I feel like this next step is the hardest part.... What are ya'lls thoughts? I know it is one day at a time..... [-O<

@Knottie24173360 Yay!!!! So exciting! Relax and enjoy. Today is the day your baby meets you uterus. Give it big hugs! Enjoy. This is a part of your babies birth story=)
@Knottie24173360 I'm nervous about the ET too! But getting the green light is a big part of it and you're there! So exciting!! Will you be staying home after or going back to work? I've seen 50/50 split on it so both options must be workable.
Hi girls! I have another question for you all. Is anyone currently taking Lupron? I've taken it 3 nights in a row so far and 2 of the nights were fine, but one night I noticed the injection hurt more than the other 2 times and the injection spot is still a little sore even a day later. Is this normal? Did I just pick a bad spot that time?
It feels like a mosquito bite! Make sure you are alternating injection sites! I made the mistake of hitting the same spot twice and that was a definitely Hurty! You will want to make sure stim on one side and Lipton the other when you get to that point hope that was helpful

Talked to embryology for our day 3 checkup. Started with 17 fertilized on day one. 5 arrested. 5 are a little behind and 7 look really good. 12 embies are still kickin. Hope we have some great ones for our day 6 transfer of Monday. I knew they all wouldn't make it to day 6 (and we don't need that many lol)but I'm a little sad to know that some died=(
