@slr1229 actually during the day he goes shorter amounts of time. Usually not ever longer than 3 hours, sometimes as early as two. In fact, today he has stuck pretty consistently to two or two and half hours (he's been driving me a little nuts today actually, I'm totally wiped and can't get a nap in for nothing). I read that once they begin to sleep longer at night they may eat more frequently during the day, so I've been hoping that his eating more often means he will start to spread his nighttime feeds more. But other than maybe adding a half hour on, he doesn't seem to be sleeping longer.
The only time he goes over 3 hours or so during the day is when we are out and he is in his carseat and being moved around. And even then that's hit or miss
Anyone ever got the water ready to heat up breastmilk and then discovered you didn't actually even take the bottle out of the fridge..... While your baby is screaming ..... Mom fail.
She better get her eating chops on...I'm engorged and we just lost power so I can't pump after the morning feed. Eff. I usually get 9oz out after she eats like crazy so this should be a bitch. Give me back powerrrrr
ETA: of course I'm panicking about my frozen breastmilk now. If only I would've transferred the 50oz I have in our regular freezer to the deep freezer (

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.

I have both the battery pack and the car adaptor for my pump...if this happened to me I'd probably be sitting in the car pumping, staring at the freezer in the garage where all my milk is, praying to God that power would be back soon!
I thought that schedules were supposed to start to emerge around 2 months...after her horrible night Monday and 5am wake up yesterday, LO was awesome last night. Granted, she refused to go down until 10:30 but she didn't wake up until 3:45! I of course went to bed at 11 (needed to pump) and then woke up (needing to pump) at 2:45, but still.
She ate for a really long time at 3:45 so I decided to stay in the recliner with her. Good thing because she woke up with gas at 530 and needed a snack to go back down. Then she woke at 730 so I fed her figuring it was time to get up, but she fell right back to sleep. I didn't think I'd be chained to this chair for so long, but I don't care. I am hoping this means my 8.5-9.5 week leap is over and 5-6 hour sleep stretches are on their way! Now if only I could get her down closer to 8 than 10:30 I'd really be in business!
Why is it that it takes like 15 minutes to get her down for a nap but at least TWO HOURS to get her down for the night? Seriously. I cannot wait to start sleep training.
It came back on after 5 hours. I literally ran to my pump haha...I got a chocolate bar tonight and left the deep freezer wide open for like a half hour. One way or another something is trying to defrost my stash..

The person who has problems going to bed is me it seems. Once again LO is sleeping soundly and I'm still up :-? At least this time I know the reason why I'm still up and it's not just watching tv (we had a death in the family where we had to travel to the funeral and DH couldn't come because he just started a new position so my sister is sharing the room with me and the kids and we're reminiscing and laughing like hyenas haha)

So sorry for your loss ... But I'm glad to hear your insomnia tonight comes with some good conversation and laughter with family .. Just tell your DH when you get home you deserve a nice long nap and hand off the babes!
Remember that glorious 5 hour stretch last night, where I was all "maybe the leap is over and we'll get 5 hour stretches now!" Nope. Back to 3 hour stretches. On the nose. Sigh.
I woke up to go pee. This is hugely significant as I am usually *woken up* and then I get up and go pee. He should have been up by now asking to fed, but he's not. But my lame ass *is* up, because apparently now its SOP to just wake up in the middle of the night and be up for an hour. Who's been sleep trained, here?
Babies are definitely the craziest things in this world. LO started sleeping really well at night at 7 weeks. Now we're at 12 weeks, I'm back at work and he decides he wants to be up every few hours. This is not okay. I keep hearing that I should put rice in his bottle. Seriously considering it if I could get some sleep.
LO actually had a great night - up at 3 and 6:20. Awesome. But DS had a night terror & was sleep walking at midnight and our smoke detectors went off at 4am for no reason. Such is life.
I've been back at work for 2 weeks now. My twins will sleep as long as they're being held, but the second you put them down, they're screaming. It all started the day I went back to work. Last night I was up with them until 4am. I finally woke up dh and told him it was his turn. Then he wakes me up at 6:50. It's like this even on my days off. Anyone have any advice how to get them to sleep? We've tried the following: Swaddling, not swaddling, gas drops, gripe water, bassinets, rock n plays, swings, white noise, heavier pjs, lighter pjs, feeding. No matter what we do, they just don't sleep. Lady night they were awake from 5-11pm with only a 45 minute nap. They should've been super tired. Nope, up almost all night! I'm so exhausted is not even funny. Nobody will take them for a night to help us out, because they don't want to be up all night.

I don't really have much advice. Maybe it's a leap? Or have they always been like this? Ugh just reading this made me more exhausted then I am. I'm so sorry! Especially to have to be working as well. I give you so much credit for going through this and having twins. Some days I can't even handle my ONES 3 month old let alone 2.

You may have tried this and not mentioned it, but have you had them sleep together in the same crib? My twins sleep right next to each other. They smack each other all night long, but aren't bothered by it. I think they soothe each other.
Diapers don't work if they're on backwards. Shot day didn't go so well, apparently I'm breaking. LO woke up soaked in pee and laughing like a crazy person... Pee = hilarious
This whole won't go back to sleep in the crib after 4 am stage is really getting to me ... I feed her she fusses if I put her back in the crib she doesn't sleep and instead keeps me up but yet if I have her sleep on me on the couch like we have done since the beginning she squirms the whole time...so it seems she doesn't like doing that either now! Wth does she want?!? Ugh I'm so tired it's ridiculous
So how do I get her to go back down after 330/4 feeding in her crib? Suggestions?

This goes against expert recommendation, but I was having the same problem. Now I unswaddle and put LO on her tummy after rocking a little. It works great. She does have good head control and can easily pick her head and shoulders up and turn her head. You might want to try it at nap time so you feel comfortable before doing it at night.
LO went down at 7 last night. I attempted a dream feed after changing her into her pj's but didn't get much accomplished. She woke at 1 and then 2:30. I was so tired from our camping trip that I decided to co sleep the rest of the night. At some point after this I swear I heard my DS cry out "mommaaaaaa!!!" So I wake up DH to check on him...turns out DS was fast asleep and I had dreamt his cries. Oh well, at least DH got a taste of MOTN wake ups. Lol
The crib is evil. We've tried it twice in the last three nights and it didn't work out. I put her back in her RnP last night and she was up every two hours and wouldn't go back to sleep at 7am. Usually she sleeps until 9. We had been getting 6-9 hour stretches of sleep! What have I done?!

Something switched in our LO a few weeks ago. She went from waking once a night around 3/4 am then back down until 7. Well now she's up at midnight then 3am thrashing and grunting until we get her up. I'm sorry the crib didn't work for you! Our baby is in the bassinet next to our bed and it's definitely not as great as the rock n play. I miss those days! I guess maybe now that yours is up anyways in the rock n play just keep trying the crib? But I definitely understand if you wouldn't lol Id do anything for sleep. If my baby wNted the Rnp for the next 4 years if that meant a good nights sleep I wouldn't give a crap if her legs were right out of it lol
Our guy was doing fantastic, eating at 3:00 then 7:00 and waking at 9:00. But now we are back to 2:30, 5:00, 6:00, up for an hour or two, then a few naps before noon. I'm wiped. It's also a mind F$&@ because it all changes every two nights or so. Sometimes he sleeps, sometimes he owns you.
@virginiaunicorn11 I sing a song to LO at bedtime about how owns me but I still love him.... And I beg him to sleep for me. All in song. Very effective.
@virginiaunicorn11 That's one thing about kids - just when you think you have them figured out and you're succeeding at this parenting gig, they go and change the rules on you.
FML!! I think LO is trying to kill me ugh went down at 830 but not in crib until 9 then up at 1145 back down at 1215 back up at 245 down 320 then wide awake 415 ready to party and refuses crib at this point so here i am pumping on the couch with a spider monkey all over the place
@DolphinLover2002 my friend just bought a "zen sack" it's like a sleep sack but has a small circle that's weighted with something (feels like beans but it's not) in the center so they feel the pressure as if your chest is on them. I know it's expensive but you could try it?!
For 10 weeks MOTN feedings were easy. She would fall right back asleep. It was the only thing getting me through the 2-3 hour bedtime routine, knowing that at least the next 1-2 feedings would be easy.
Tonight, we went to bed at 9:30 and woke up to feed at 12:50. Totally normal and expected. However it is now 2:39 and she JUST fell back asleep. She was wired when she first got up, smiling and laughing. It would have been adorable if I wasn't so tired. What is going on here.

Ugh that really sucks!!!!! It would be so hard to see her laughing and smiling and not being able to truely enjoy it. We're having a problem with our girl being so damn noisy while she's sleeping. After her middle of the night feeding she's so loud from about 3am on and then. Grunting and thrashing around in her sleep. So it ends up waking herself up then. I'm convinced she will never sleep through the night at this point
LO has finally cut down to one feeding a night and of course last night I developed a plugged duct. So now I'm awake because I'm uncomfortable and just praying that LO wakes up soon so I can try to nurse this out.
LO's first stretch was about 6 hours between feeds tonight. Not as long as she had been going up until last week. I'm not upset about that at all though. I'm upset that I've been up for TWO AND A HALF hours with insomnia since I put her down. She's sound asleep and I'm just laying here wishing I was. (

For myself, all I have to say is this - at 320am do not second guess yourself and them start Googling. Step away from Google. Just step away.
