I feel so frustrated that my 5 week old seems to be always fussing and little seems to help. He also just catnaps during the day so no breaks. Thank god for my mom helping me almost every day.
@amccoy129@rrcameron21 LO has taken two real life naps in her crib today instead of her in-and-out cat naps of the past 9 weeks so I have a feeling our 2 night "sleeping through the night" streak will not be extended to 3.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
i think LO slept for 7 hours straight last night (that or i dont remember feeding him between that) which sounds great, but yesterday sucked for me. i think i had maybe 1 hour away from him, and that was just me going pee and making/eating food. he would only sleep on me or next to me. any time i got up out of bed he woke up shortly after. he was basically earing/burping or crying the whole time he was awake. i love the kid to death but holy shit.
@katyertl That is so, so normal. Experienced bad mom tip for next time: whenever you find yourself overwhelmed and saying mean or snarky (more of a toddler mom thing) things to the baby, leave the house. You would never say those things to the baby in public so it forces you to adopt a more positive attitude. I do this all the time. Even if you just scoop her up and walk to the mailbox it will help. Anywhere where others can hear you.
Oh my god what great advice! I'll try this next time. Now looking back on it i cringe just thinking how scared I made her. Ugh it makes me so mad at myself for being mad at an innocent baby
@mvargas12 that is awesome, and I was just yesterday wondering what we were going to do for Halloween. I have a cute long sleeved and footed onesie I found garage sailing that says 'my first Halloween' on it, but I kinda want a little something more...
How are all your LOs when being put down? Our girl hates being put down when she's awake so one of us is always holding her unless she feels like playing on her mat.
@katyertl most of the time she's fine until she decides she's had enough. She loves her swing, tolerates her bouncer for about 10 minutes, and same with her mat. Loves the car seat.

This is exactly my LO. I have only had our swing for a week but it's been a life saver.
somehow, my baby is able to poop while sleeping doesnt phase him at all. he doesnt stir or anything. and its not even subtle. its loud, and dare i say violent. how is that even possible.

And then, if they poop while they are awake its this huge effort and ordeal. Babies are wierd
I made us come to a wedding 3.5 hours away. Somehow it took us 7. I left the Pack n Play in the car rental office. And I left our debit card at home, with $1 in my purse, $0 in DH's wallet, and toll roads ahead. This is when I realize a) I'm way more sleep deprived than I realized, and b) there are no more quick and easy overnight trips. DH was livid I was making us do one more thing after our big move then a week of funeral dealings. I just wanted to see friends and dance. The music was too loud to stay at the reception and only one friend came, not 5. I was a crappy partner today. And our hotel had no cribs, so LO is in an easy chair pushed against the bed. Ugh.
@virginiaunicorn11 these things happen. You'll be able to look back at this one day and say remember when...and get a good laugh out of it. Sending you good vibes for an easy trip home.
I don't want to jinx it, but LO has been almost pleasant since the poop incident Saturday night. Last night I think she even coo'd. It wasn't a laugh but it wasn't angry, either. And she's woken up twice not screaming. And I've gotten some goofy smiles without a boob in her face. Actually, she hasn't cried all morning. Fingers crossed this version of LO decides to stick around.
I know others have mentioned they've taken unopened cases of diapers to Walmart without a receipt. Does anyone know if Target will take them with no receipt?
My l/o had her first major diaper blowout at the grocery store today. I had about half of my groceries so I decided to hit a checkout and head home. The lady behind me in line proceeded to tell me that a good mother would have abandoned the groceries and taken her home instead of getting what I had already put in the cart. Made me feel like a shitty parent and I cried with my l/o the whole way home. Paying for the groceries added about 2 minutes to the trip. :-S

You should've told her a good stranger shuts her freaking mouth. Ugh so rude of her to say that to you. If you're a bad mom for that, than I guess I am too cause I would've done the same thing. Next time punch her in the face

Screw her. You know what? Poop happens and she should have kept her damn mouth shut.

I would've done the same thing too! Bad moms all around! Haha
@alcrimmins that lady obviously does not know the effort it takes to actually get to the damn store to do the shopping. Screw her and her judgmental attitude. I would have done the same thing you did.

This. Or, tell her you'll be glad to hand her the poopy baby and the diaper bag and she can change her, since she thinks she can do such a better job than you ever could.
Let her get poop all over her clothes trying to change the kid on the checkout counter.
LO has been sleeping ALL day. Like 3 hour stretches and only waking to eat. She just turned 8 weeks today. It feels like a growth spurt. I hope that's all it is. A little worried. She did pause one of her naps for a giant blowout that ruined an Aden and Anais blanket. Ugh. Now we're down to three and I don't want to buy more. Even Dawn couldn't save it. (
@alcrimmins I DARE someone to say something like that to me. Ever since I had my baby, I don't hold back on people who criticize. And I totally would have checked out with my stuff too! Gotta have food!

ETA: wrong person. Oops.
There's a bar called Fels Naptha that you buy in the laundry section. It's a serious lifesaver! LO had a blowout and even though I soaked them in Oxyclean, the stains were still there after I washed and dried. Rubbed Fels Naptha on and let it sit for a few hours, the stain is gone!
I use simple green or purple power on poop stained stuff and then rinse it out right away. Works like a charm. They are both meant for grease stains but work on everything

I quickly woke DH and we ran out to the front yard. Turns out DH just forgot to close the doors after we brought both kids in late last night.
Sleep deprivation at its finest.
TIA!
