My name is Amanda. I am 23 years old. I live in NYC although I previously lived on the gulf coast of Florida for much of my childhood. I am a phlebotomist by trade although I am currently taking some time away from medicine for personal reasons. I love food, the ocean, animals and music. I am spiritual and feel led by Jesus, and I believe I have been called by God to be a mother.
I am happily engaged to my best friend of some twenty years, Isaac, who is 25 years old. He is my living proof that true love and soul mates exist, and I could not dream of a more loving, passionate, supportive partner. I have always dreamed that one day he and I would be blessed enough to have children together, but over the past few years my struggles with PCOS made it seem like that may be a dream we would have to be especially patient with. After being on hormone medication and numerous birth controls that effected me horribly, I finally decided to take my health into my own hands and came off of my medications and started being mindful of what I put into my body. I took my health seriously and once the timing felt right, and after a lot of prayer, we started trying for a baby. After the first month we took an at home pregnancy test which came out negative, but I didn't believe it. I could feel in my soul that we were pregnant. I waited another 2 weeks and tested again and sure enough it was positive! After a trip to the doctor for some bloodwork to confirm, and then later a dating ultrasound (since my ovulation is wacky I wanted to make sure I had my dates right) eventually we got here, 9 weeks 3 days along, our baby's strong and beautiful heartbeat at 173 beats per minute, I have never felt so truly blessed.
I was raised by a hippie mama and I have picked up many of her values, including my desire for a natural birth, which is how my siblings and I were all brought into this world. I've never felt comfortable in hospitals, and I always was taught that if you can do without medications you should (I was given herbs and bone broth when I got a cold as a child. Medicines like DayQuil only becoming apparent to me as an adult) and I just think I would personally feel most comfortable giving birth in a natural setting. While home birth remains my ideal desire, Isaac and I are currently in the process of planning to move about halfway through my pregnancy (doesn't that sound relaxing? Lol). So as of now we are seeing a small group of three midwives at a freestanding birthing center in Brooklyn. We are very comfortable with this option and have homebirth on the back burner, but since we can't predict the future we will just have to see how it all plays out

My name is Kaela, I'm 24 and so is DH. We've been married 3.5 years. I am a SAHM and DH owns and runs his own tile and granite showroom. This is our second pregnancy. Our beautiful little girl, Emma, is 16 months old.
This baby's due date is a tentative 2/10.
My Emma girl has been a really easy kid. She's happy 99% of the time. I give some of the credit to Baby Wise! That helped me SO MUCH when Em was brand new. The girl is STILL used to her schedule and takes a 2 hour nap every day and sleeps from 7pm-7:30am. So we will definitely be doing that with baby #2!
We already made an appointment to find out the gender early. So we will be going in a couple of weeks to know if baby is a he or she! (I just want to pick a name!)
My husband and I are expecting our first. We both work. He is in the military and i am a nurse. We have 4 pets. We both come from large families but we live pretty far away from them now. I have good support from my coworkers but he is eager to announce to our family. First US and prenatal checkup is in two days. I will be 9w5d by the lmp calculations but i feel like its either further along or its twins. No solid evidence since this is baby #1. Just a feeling.

My biggest concern is how the love of my life (besides my boyfriend) will adjust to a new baby. Pumpkin is a 1.5year old black Shug (shihtzu x pug) and is my constant shadow. Does anyone have any advice on introducing new babies to pets?

That's mainly due to the fact that I felt completely miserable for about 3 weeks and had two bleeding scares. Everything is fine now, though, and I've been enjoying my pregnancy for about 2 weeks! Anyway, I've been married for almost 3 years, and my husband and I just bought our first house in April. We are pretty much situated (thank goodness), because now we need to start planning a nursery. We adopted a shelter dog a little over a year ago, and she is a 3 1/2 year old beautiful Labrador mixed with something else. She is wonderful with kids and babies, so we don't have to worry about that! I'm a teacher and actually just accepted a job at a different school in the same system. It's closer to home, and I won't be as busy of a schedule (finally!).

Hello! I have been very hesitant to get back on TB with this pregnancy. My name is Amanda, I am 30, and this is my fourth pregnancy but will (hopefully) be my second earthbound child. I had two miscarriages earlier this year, so this pregnancy has been an emotional roller coaster. I woke up with spotting around 9 weeks and my doctor was on vacation -- definitely a panicked couple of days! Fortunately it stopped and I am roughly 11 weeks today (depending on what you're basing my due date on).
DH and I have been friends for 17 years, will celebrate our 11th "date-aversary" in a few days, and are going on 4 years of marriage. We have a precious two-year-old who is already so excited to be a big sister that it just makes my heart want to burst.
EDD is February 22 based on LMP, but more like February 19-20 based on O Date. At my ultrasound on Friday, baby was measuring at 11w3d, which would make the date more like February 16, but my midwife decided to stick with Feb. 22.
We're finally feeling comfortable enough to start telling people, having heard and seen the baby. We told my parents yesterday and will go down to see DH's family next weekend to let them know.
