Ugh DD saw Calliou before I could switch the channel. Now we have to watch it or else bed time will be a disaster.

Hey STM's (or more)- did any of ya'll do no epidural? I'm trying to make some decisions about that right now for preparations sake. I'll be at a hospital for sure, but want to try with no epidural. My question is, did you take a class? I'm not sure I'll be able to.
    Edit: words
  • I just found out my sister is pregnant too! She's on her third... My first. Exciting!!! Buuut there goes any help I was gonna get from her! I helped her/help her a ton with her kids. But obviously its an amazing thing! Cousins like 3 months apart!!
  • My DH just pointed out I have a couple stretch marks. I am 16w1d and have stayed the same weight ...Why?!

He said it in such a loving way, "Awe, your first stripes." I guess it's better than being an ass about it, but really... Already? I am going to bed now to dream about what I'll look like in 24 weeks. Geez.

I've lost weight and have started to get them already. It's okay :)

I went as long as I could but ended up getting one. I think I would have done better with a class. DH didn't really know what to do and it would have been helpful for him to have some tricks. I'm looking into them this time
  • @Snoopylovesbelle thanks! That makes sense. Just trying to figure out if the sacrifice of a class is worth it. Everything I've heard/read so far says yes.

Is there a particular reason you're opposed to a class? I'm going to try natural as well so I want everything that could help me succeed in my arsenal.

  • @TinyDancer51510 I'm not opposed to it at all, but just wanting to choose wisely where to spend time/finances right now.

I had a light epidural right at the end. I have no regrets - I got two beautiful babies out just fine - but I'm definitely shooting for no drugs this time. I'm hoping it's much easier with one baby, plus I'll be at a very natural birth friendly hospital with great labor tubs and all kinds of balls and bars and stuff.

I had my class scheduled too late and went into labor too early so we missed the class. We're going to do a few this time. We're decided whether or not to get a doula. My husband is down to learn all the pain relief techniques so now I'm leaning towards just using him.
  • Thought I'd share

  • I am keeping the option of an epidural open if I need it, and other pain relief will be available too. Planning on taking a birthing class of some sort this fall and am debating getting a doula.

  • DD was up all night again. The worst 2 nights in a row in a long time. I can't get out of bed to get ready for work. I swear the hubs plans his out of town trips around her teeth coming in. :((

Start putting Bio oil (vitamin E) on it! It helps!

  • There is another gender guess feed this morning. 12 week scan? If that's a recent scan that's not even a January baby!

  • Just left the dentist for a cleaning and oh did I bleed a lot! Yuck
  • Oh my god I just made it through the 400+ posts!! Thanks for all the updates on everything I missed!
You are a better woman than me.

Unrelated side note: I GUESSSSSSS this could go in the daily symptoms thread but I feel like a weirdo bringing it up. You know how your mouth sheds on the inside? It usually happens like every six months for me. This is like day three of waking up with skin pooled in my cheeks. WTF. Am I weird?
  • edited July 2015
I've never had that happen but it sounds about right for being pregnant. Everything sheds faster
  • @KaraEpp16 that skin peeling is the worst! I've never woken up to a huge pile of it in my mouth but I can only imagine how gross that feels!

If you're weird than so am I. This happens to me too and I've had it the past couple of days!! I never understood why it only happens every now and then, but that makes sense.

I have had two epidurals, but if I wanted to try med free definitely a class or some method would be on my to do list!

  • Does anybody watch The Strain? Normally I love sci-fi/horror, and I actually really enjoy this show on a regular basis, but something about this last episode is making me really queasy (watching it on DVR.) I'm like actually debating turning it off, and I have never done for any gory show or movie... Pregnancy is so weird.

I barely ever comment on the repeat posts (unless I'm sharing GIFs), but I do like that there's always someone there to say welcome and here is a way to find an answer to the question you asked (and has been asked like 500 times). Hopefully that will lead to the OP wandering the site and realizing it can be fun and then joining in on said fun. If they get upset about that sort of response, they probably wouldn't like it here anyway.
