That's okay people can be negative about it or argue all they want. If they want to be in a rotten mood that's their choice. I just don't like rudeness. I don't like to waste my time making others feel bad. I just want all the mamas out there to get the positive support they deserve:)
It should be noted again, this is an online forum, not a support group. The entire point is to get feedback from different points of view. That does not mean that you cannot get support on here, but if you read TOU, you can clearly see that not everybody has to agree with you on your post. And disagreeing is not rude. What is rude is to be misrepresenting one's opinion by giving the false impression that one may agree with a person that they do not. I see no integrity in that. However, I do agree with you that there is no need to argue simply for arguments sake.

I agree that we will all have different opinions and we shouldn't pretend to agree when we don't HOWEVER. if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all. It takes less effort to roll your eyes and ignore something than to type out a ten page long message knocking that person down because of the difference of opinions.
I am rolling my eyes now.
Glad to see you were adult enough to leave it alone.
@BostonBaby1 I'm so sorry. You are completely right. Who am I to think that I, as a grown woman, have the right to ask a question or read other women's questions and to expect a civilized response. It's perfectly acceptable to act like a high schooler and be petty and immature because we are online on a forum. We aren't here to make friends so no one else's feelings matter.
Sad but true there is always going to be a certain group of ladies that feed off the drama in here. And get kicks out of the rude comments that they make to others. It's probably the highlight of their day.
Going off of the comment "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".. 99.9% of the time, everyone is being nice. No one is PURPOSELY trying to hurt someone's feelings or not be supportive. People feel very strongly about things and will post if they disagree with something. It's not about being mean or nice, it's about stating your views and opinions as a parent.

In a thread about being nice this is incredibly mean. i think OP may have been talking to you.

You quoted something that I said and then essentially told me not to respond. I have every right to voice my opinion so long as I abide by TOU, as do you. I did not tell you not to write anything; I would never do such a thing. This is only a forum on the Internet. It is a virtual given that you will not like everybody that you come across, however, you do not need to start looking for issues. I don't wish to further engage. Please understand that.

Unsure how this comment is incredibly mean. Please explain if you wish.
@ketobaby would you say to someone's face that you think the "highlight of their day" is being rude to others. I think that's mean. And the whole point of OP's post was to request that people be more polite. So...

Yes I would say that to someone's face who has repeatedly behaved in the manner that they do. The whole point of my post is that you can't change the rude people's mind. It's normally the same people commenting in the same manner on each of the posts. If they didn't like being rude/mean they wouldn't do it so often.
I don't know what this is from but it made me laugh. We are not all going to get along. We are not all going to agree. I like reading posts where people do not agree, these are the threads where I learn something.
I do agree with one thing- no one has ANY right to talk shit about your future children, just because of a different view. That pisses me off. But, as many people have pointed out, 99.9% of comments do not say anything like that!
All I was saying was basically there is no need to say someone is something their not to assume they are going to be a bad parent on here. I only have see one rude comment like that. I don't consider anyone's opinions rude though. I like seeing the different pints of views. That's what I expect.
Argh not this again. I literally just skimmed through 4 pages. Funny that these kinds of threads about let's all get along get the most responses, and most of the responses are NOT getting along.
No one is going to change here. People will write what they'll write, some will love it some will leave it. You make of this what you want, but if many of you stick around, you'll end up learning a lot and being exposed to some pretty awesome women. I love that this isn't a place that everyone agrees. I love that we all come from different places and different mindsets. It fascinates me. Honestly, if we all agreed all the time it would be so boring I'd probably leave myself.
Being in the S13 board, i'll tell you that I still keep in touch with a few of the moms in that group, and we have our own facebook group and know quite a bit about each other's lives and kids. We never met each other but it's a pretty kickass group of women and i wouldn't have "known" them unless i stuck it out.
So please stop with the kumbaya posts. Not everyone's going to get along. And that's ok.
Oh and here's a picture of a puppy to make it all better.
