Lynley. The -ley names have become so popular and (Riley, Miley, tinley). I don't know. We may just scrap it!
Agreed. I haven't heard Lynley before but there's a BBC character with that name? Interesting. But yeah, it's a trend so there's that but if you love it go with the traditional spelling.
Need help-family name for a girl with spelling Lynley Lynlee Or Lynleigh
Middle: likely Dianne after my mother
Please don't do the "ee" at the end of the name trend. It's very childish looking. The "Leigh" ending is not great, either.
The name derives from Linley, so I would go with the "ley" ending (though I also prefer the traditional spelling without the extra "y") The name itself is not common, so I wouldn't worry about the popularity of "ley" names.
Hey!! My husband and I just found out we're having a boy! We love the name Citizen Michael (Citi for short) but can't find anything about it. We want a unique name, but fear it may be too unique. Thoughts??!!! Thanks
You can't find anything about it because it's not a name.

I like Avery Elizabeth. Is Avery trending too much?
Yes. On girls Riley and Avery are the new Ashley. Masculine named turned trendy on girls and likely in a couple years the names will just drop from use. The names then will be timestamped
We find out July 8th what we're having, but if it's a girl, her name will be Aria Leia. We aren't sure of a boy name. We wanted to name him Alex after my cousin who passed away when we were children but when I asked my aunt her opinion she got a little upset and said she wasn't sure she could handle that, sooo.... Back to the drawing board!
We learned we are having a baby girl. If it was a boy my husband and I really loved the name William, it sounded strong (common maybe but it's a nice traditional name). Since we are having a girl, I'm (and him also) having a difficult time to decide. We did had the girl name ready as Aislin, however we both are having second thoughts on it. My husband is Irish/Scottish so we've been checking some Gaelic names. Others we thought cute were, Beatrice Lillith/Lilly Winnifred/Winnie Fiona Claire Pearl
I'm just not sure but we might go with Fiona or Aislin.

I prefer Fiona, if only because I have no clue how to pronounce Aislin.. Ay-slinn?
I prefer Fiona hands down. It stands out much more against a sea of very popular a names ( Abby, Ava, Addison, Amelia etc.) also adore Claire, that's our pick:)
I heard a father in a restaurant say his little boys name was halen and it stuck with me, I assume he got it from van halen. I google it and it's an old English name also used to be popular. I don't mind van halen, not obsessed tho just thought that name was different. We have another boy named river so just trying to come up with something just as cool
I don't know what I'm having - we don't want to find out after 7 years of infertility I don't care- I'm here and the baby is healthy that's all that matters. As for names.. I don't know that either I have a few I like and I'll know when I see him/her what it will be! Love the names congrats ladies!!

To be honest most of the sites online that say Halen is a name aren't very legit, meaning anyone can submit a name and history. Behindthename.com is the most legit site out that there that takes into count history or etymology of names. It has Halen listed as a user submitted name and it states it comes from pop culture and references Van Halen. I certainly wouldn't want to use that basis as a name for my child. If you want something unique maybe search above the top 500 on the social security list or beyond the top 1000. There are a million other better names than Halen. I also don't think it pairs well with River. @aleeciabuskey
I'm 5mos 2days. We just found out we're having a BOY. Since this is my husband's first biological child, we will (more than likely) name him Pete J. II after his daddy. He was named after his grandfather and I think it's a strong name. We've been working on this for about 9 years, so we're excited!
I came back on ours because after looking at the ways people are spelling Aida/en we decided to go with Aidan Christopher as it's more the traditional and not going with the "en" ending.
Re: Gender and names?!?!?!
The name derives from Linley, so I would go with the "ley" ending (though I also prefer the traditional spelling without the extra "y") The name itself is not common, so I wouldn't worry about the popularity of "ley" names.
