What names are on your short list?

Hello! I'm wondering who else out there has their names (or potential set of names) already picked out?

I've already decided on Juliet or James. I can't be the only one who has already chosen...

Also, how many middle names are you going for? One? Two? This is the part I can't decide.

Evelyn and Quincy are our current front runners. James is my favorite too but husband doesn't like it (weirdo)!

  • We have a girl's name picked out: Grace Charlotte. But we disagree over boys' names. And by disagree, I mean my husband doesn't like any of the ones I throw at him (like 50) and is sticking to his guns on two, Bradley and Eric Jr.

You guys have such great names! I considered Joshua, Charlotte and Bradley too at one point or another. My DH and I have different last names; we're giving the baby his so he's pretty compromising on the rest. :)
  • Luke Andrew for a boy.

Girls are harder. We both like Olivia, but it's super popular. We are discussing other options. Amelia, Abigail, Anne, and a few others. Nothing is sticking like Luke.
  • Boy: Colton Ryder
    Girl: Sydney Jade
first and middle names so far... don't really see myself changing them but we will see me and my husband agree on these O:-)
  • My hubby and his dad have the same initials so it's been something we've talked about for when we end up having kids. And I've had a girl's name picked out since I saw it in a book when I was a kid and all we had to do was come up with a middle name. Now that were actually pregnant, we just have to know if it's going to be a boy or a girl. We're looking at Miles Alexander and Alanna Jade.

    Addison for a girl.

We both have very different taste for boy names, so that has been more of a challenge.  Our top picks for now are Reid and Lincoln.  I love Emmett, but DH is not a fan.

  • If we have a girl: Mary
And for a boy: Henry or maybe Andrew...not sure on the boy name yet.
  • Zachary James or Noah Ryan for boys and Chloe Jean or Emma Grace for girls. The boys middle names are for family members and both the girls names are my great grandmothers'.

    8 Years
    2 Miscarriages
    2 Ectopic Pregnancies
    1 Round of Clomid
    1 Fresh IVF Cycle
    1 Bean and 5 Frosties!
  • If we have a girl: Raelee Elaine.
Ray is my dad's middle name. So we converted it to a girl form and put my brothers middle name (lee) at the end.
Elaine was both my grandmothers names and my middle name. I've always wanted to pass it on to my daughter as a family name.

For a boy: Samuel Albert Michael
I liked sam, but wanted something he could grow into. So we went with Samuel. Albert is DH's grandpas middle name. (His grandfather was his father figure). Michael is DH's middle name.

Both names we picked have huge meaning to us. We only have one middle name for our potential daughter, but decided on two middle names for our potential son.
  • Boy- Beckham or Brecken
    Girl- Kinsley

When we had our first we had 3 boy names. No girls. Finally got him to agree on a girls name
  • Boy - Hudson Charles.  Both of our dads' name is Charles.
Girl - Karsyn Elizabeth.  Elizabeth is my middle name, and it just fit.

The last name thing is the big question with us, as we both think it should get ours.  Will probably have to use both, though that raises the question, my last name first or his?  They're at different ends of the alphabet, so that will probably be the deciding factor.  I don't really care (I'm mid-early alphabet, so since I got in mid-early on things, I'm neutral; he's very end of the alphabet, so has experience as to whether or not that sucks).

First names are easy, only one that's ever been tossed around that's been a "No, no way in hell is my child getting stuck with that name" reaction is Eben.  I feel bad about that, as it comes from a good friend of his that died, but I can't allow a defenseless child to be saddled with that, no matter the reason behind it.

I have an end of the alphabet last name and I don't think it has greatly impacted my life. Honestly, I'd go with whatever rolls off the tongue better and sounds cooler! Ahaha.
  • Loving the names! Hopefully we see the baby this Thursday, and if so our names for a boy are Gideon, Ezekiel and Reece.

For girls we have the family name Lula Belle at the top, with Truly, Eevie and Gemma in a close second :)

  • Boy - Grayson James, Camden James
Girl - Lilliana Jane with some backups picked, but this is our go-to.
  • We decided ours on a drive to ikea haha. No fighting at all surprisingly! Who knows if that will change the closer we get to due date.

We love Lucy Agnes for a girl and Declan Macelroy for a boy. Agnes is a family name passed down through generations on my side and Macelroy is DHs grandfather whom he never knew.

  • Right now we like:

Girl: Adalyn Raye, Delaney Nicole or Ella Margaret

We picked the middle names for grandparents names or special meaning. Nothing is written in stone yet though.

  • As of right now we have some solid names picked out.

    Boy: Lucas Daniel
    Girl: Sofia Christina

Daniel is his only brothers name and Christina is my only sisters name so that was easy.

We're tossing around a few others like Avery for a boy and Olivia for a girl but I'm stuck on our first picks.

I also love Delilah, Isabel and Eliza for girls and Jacob, Caleb, Jaxon and Sebastian for boys.
  • We keep coming back to the name Eleanor as one we both like for a girl, I really like Declan and Peter for boys and Abigail for a girl. We'll see! :)

Blake or Bethany! We always wanted a boy first but I'm kind of hoping its a girl because I'm just so excited about having a Bethany!

I love Juliet! And James is a very strong name :)

ETA: Reading through this thread I'm so jealous of all your boy names! DHs and his fathers initials are the same (BWL) and both of their middle names are Wesley. So DH said that our sons name has to start with a B... which is really hard to find names that start with just a B. Especially when he hates ALLLL of them. We decided on Blake because that was the ONLY one he didnt hate (besides Blade but... yeah no.) and Blake is my little brothers middle name, so I get a little bit of my family in there too. I love the names we have, but sometimes I wish I could have more freedom choosing. Oh well, I can with the second boy :)
  • I have no. clue. And we won't be finding out the sex which makes things trickier. DS is Theodore (nn Teddy) and I feel like I'll never top that because it fits him so perfectly. All of our kids will have two middle names because DH and I have different last names, so we use mine as a mn.

    I LOVE Theodore!

If we have a girl we like the name June as the first name. My husband and I can't even begin to agree on one boy name but I really like the name Rockwell and call him Rocky.

The middle name is set and will be the same whether boy or girl. The middle name will be Patrick after my H's brother that passed when they were teens.

That's an interesting idea! We're using my DH's last name, but it never occurred to me that mine could be a middle name... My last name is very unconventional but I am going to seriously consider doing this too.

I have a feeling we are having a boy, but it's way to early to be sure. We want to name him Michael Thomas. Michael is my maiden name and also my husbands brothers name. Thomas is is grandfathers name. We already decided that! For a girl I like Ryan Ann or Ellie Mae, but for a girl we are not sure!

We have a Theodore! He goes by Theo. I feel the same way as you. I feel like we found THE perfect name; how can we possibly top that? ;)
