@fruitpudding1696 Eliza is lovely name! The 2 Eliza's I know have been super sassy characters and lovely kids so I associate the name strongly with them but think it's under used but beautiful
I've always loved Trinity Lynn for a girl and DH is pretty set on Trenten Michael for a boy. This is our first and even though I'm not fully sold on the boy first name, the way DH lit up, I don't want to take that away from him . My second choice boy name is Julien.
So my kids names already are Anthony,Vanessa,Mark, and ava.
We are going very different the time around.. Thinking echo or shadow for a boy. Dh wants sapphire for a girl.. But I don't know how I feel about it...I like spirit
DH likes Aurelia Marie for girl and for a boy Lane
I don't care for Lane at all and Marie is so over used but it is his mom's middle name. I've thrown out different versions of Marie like Mariel, Mariella, Mariem. He doesn't like any.
My picks are Charlotte (considering Charlotte Aurelia) and Benjamin (after my dad) DH doesn't like either. Boo. I have decided not to put anymore names out there for now.
We are set on a girl name Chloe May. May is after my great grandma. And for a boy Alexander middle name is either Kent after my dad or Scott my great grandparents last name. But since my ex before I met my hubby name is Scott it feels kinda strange.
We love the name Ava but it's apparently very common right now so I'm not sure thinking of Ava Rosemary (Rose for the husband's grandma and Mary for my mom)
this is our third, and we have 2 boys already (Jordy and Jake) - the 'J' theme was not intended so we seriously have to stay away from any J names at the risk of becoming Kardashiany.
im not even looking at girls names because im pretty sure its a boy - and to be honest i may be slightly dissapointed if i dont get to use one of these names - especially after my husband and i fought about names until the day we were discharged from hospital - my poor son was 2 days old and still nameless. (and if it is a girl i will still not know what to name her)
so here is my BOY list:
Beckham Max (my fave) Hudson Deacon (deacon is my maiden name also love this one) Beckett (maybe a bit weird?) still like it Sebastian Gray
Our middle name for a boy has to be Paul (family name) and our short list is Levi, Thomas, and Andrew for the first name. Which sounds the best with Paul to you guys?
I'm just starting to contemplate names! So many get vetoed before I even throw them out because of possible nicknames that I can't stand! Definitely going with some sort of Hawaiian Irish combo.
katiet925 I am a Claire and it's an awesome name because it's pretty rare but everyone knows how to say it and spell it. Emily is pretty too of course!
Married DW 08.2013; AI 2x; IUI 6x; IUI #7 05.2015; DD born 2.2016 ; Reciprocal IVF FET #1 on 11.18.2020
We love different names, we both have some what generic names and went to school with multiple people with the same names as us. Girls: Gloriana. Lilliana. Addison. Olive. Pearl. Diem. Marlow. August. Willow. Paisley Boys: Atticus. Roman. Harper. Hayden. Rory. Beckett. Phoenix. Aspen Patrick. Abel. Grayson
Hi this is our 4th and a surprise We have a Jasmine, Ethan and Keira already. This time we have started tentatively thinking but all so early yet as only 5+4.
We are thinking so far ....
Oscar Alexander for a boy
And
Scarlet Grace for a girl
Although the boys name we are set on (left over from past kids) girl is still up for serious discussion. We are hoping for a boy (I have a feeling it is) as that's then 2 of each
My husband likes Beckham if it's a boy.. I'm still not thinking about it yet.. As I'm just trying to adjust with all that is going on..
One of my friends recently named her son Beckham James. It took me saying the name out loud several times and see the little boy to fall in love with his name. They call him Becks for short and it is very cute!
OK, I love that name, but I'm having a hard time with taking any boy names that start with a B seriously because we want the middle name to be James and the initials would be BJ. Of course this makes my older kids giggle uncontrollably.
We're going back and forth for a girl, the middle name is definitely Michelle, but we're still debating the first name. Amelia, Charlotte, and Cora are the front runners right now.

Not like some stranger's vote counts, but I LOVE Amelia Michelle - beautiful!
I am LOVING Jennalynn Elizabeth for a girl... Jenna for short. Lynn is for MIL Marilyn, as well as Mom and mine middle names. My G-grandmothers middle name was Elizabeth, sister is Betty, as was Grandma. Hubby didn't seem to be a fan, and changed the subject. Lol Boys are tricky. He is Boyd Lee III. I felt SO pressured last time, I was a mess, but turned out he didn't mean to. I picked a deceased beloved uncle from each side, and he couldn't argue. The most fun we had last time while deciding was when asked about a name, we would say Richard. Pair that with a last name that sounds like craving... Soon a nickname for it would pop into their heads, followed by craving. Lol. SO got people off our backs about making a choice!
we've had names picked for a long time. they are family names that have meaning to us
boy: Henry Scott
Girl: Magdalene (Maggie) May
can't wait until January to meet our little one.
Ive had Charlotte picked out for years and love it! I was so mad when the princess chose that name- whyyyyy???!!! Now it's going to be so popular! Haha!!
Emmylou for a girl. No MN yet. I like Emmylou Rose & Annalee Joy I don't know why but I can't say I'm not oddly preparing for twins "just in case". I know Emmylou is unique but I honestly have never loved a girls' name so much and my husband is also in love with it! Graham Everett or John Zeke Randall (after a grandfather and my brother). We would call him John Zeke. We are from Texas but by the sounds of our names, we live in Georgia on a peach orchard! Lol!
DH and I were just talking names last night. We have decided that we want to narrow our list down to two or three going into delivery, then decide after the baby is born. We are on the fence about finding out right now.
Front runners for boys: Theodore Albert and Lucas Albert (Albert is DH's uncle. DH was very close to him before he passed)
Front runners for girls: Annabelle June and Emily June (June is my grandmothers name. I have always wanted to use it as a middle name, and it kills me that it's becoming more popular)
@desishively I was surprised they chose that name also, considering it was already extremely popular.
Baby names always makes me think of how we all want to give our children a unique name but most of us somehow manage to pick the top ones! My SIL thought she was so unique with Olivia 4 years ago and Liam last year. I believe Olivia was #1 that year and Liam was #2 that year.

I bet it's cultural. Accidental subliminal messages... Names in TV shows or movies that people hear just once or twice, without even realizing it, but those names lay dormant in the back of our minds. I was considering "Starling" as one of my top choice names and when I mentioned the strange coincidence to my BFF after she chose it for her daughter, she said that she'd told me that name like 6 months prior and I must have just forgotten. I totally believe her. Our minds are strange things...
We have a 6 year old son already names Owen Alexander John and we asked his opinion for this this baby: For a girl- Madalee Alicia Joyce For a boy- Connor Michael
Re: What names are on your short list?
Girl: Stella

Our daughters name is Winnie a White (White is my FIL middle name)
We're going back and forth for a girl, the middle name is definitely Michelle, but we're still debating the first name. Amelia, Charlotte, and Cora are the front runners right now.

Boy - Marshal, Emberson
