Okay everyone. There is scientific evidence that this is the worst week of the year (with statistically the highest incidence of divorce.) And we have plenty of anecdotal proof here. So let's all agree that this week blows, we quit, and we will try again next week. Get it together 2015!

I officially have a 22 year old and a 22 month old. And then from dd's birthday (in February) until ds2's birthday (in March) I'll be able to say I have a 23 year-old and a 23 month old.

We have a frozen pipe in our shower... We just fixed a busted window... Owning a house sucks.
The main water line into our house busted, and we're now waiting for the plumber. Days like this make me agree owning a house sucks. We weren't home when it happened so I'm at least grateful it wasn't from laundry because then my CD days would be done.

Last winter during construction, the pipe from the street to our house cracked. We didn't notice until April and were lucky to have that fixed under the warranty. I'm worried about the 1-year portion running out next month. I really like the builder warranty, and now we're going to actually have to fix things on our own.
You can usually purchase an extended warranty, especially if the house is new. MH and I prefer to just put aside what we can in an "emergency" account rather than having that additional insurance premium each month.
@TJ1979, it's driving me nuts that your snarky badge and BB badge are right next to each other, but not lined up. Either resize one, or add some spaces in between them. KThanks.
OMG I tried and tried and tried to fix this yesterday, and it wouldn't save. Today, fixed in one try. TB is dumb. Better now? It was driving me crazy too.
@stringy813 The house hunting portion is going fine, we have lots of options! But we have to sell our house first.

Would getting a copy of "Happiest Baby on the Block" be too out of line for my gift basket? What about a birthing ball?
I say yes to both. Both were very helpful to me. I don't think either is too "hippyish" if that's what you're trying to avoid. In fact, I'm going to buy a copy of that book for my BFF, now that you mention it.

I think that's a really generous and well thought out gift, Nana.
I'm really trying to be better about telling DH what I need him to do. Today it occurred to me that if he came home 30 minutes early and went to Papaw's with the boys and me, things would be a lot easier. I called him to suggest this. He said he planned on working later to make up hours he took off Friday. Then he asked me if I wanted him to come with us. I said, "it would be easier if you came. The boys have been fussy all day and I'm exhausted." Is that too cryptic? He's still not coming.

I'm starting to think that mine needs it really spelled out for him. Sometimes even when I feel like I'm coming right out and saying what I want he'll later say tell me it wasn't clear.
Stringy - I love owning a home. I can do what I want to my house without asking permission (within reason, we have an HOA) and I feel a sense of pride when we fix things up to our liking. Ugly tree in the front yard? Rip it out! Dog needs stairs on the deck? Get it built! Hate the hideous blue trim? Paint it! Homeownership rocks.
Jane - I don't think that's cryptic at all. I feel like it's a polite way of asking him to come. There seems to be a fine line between asking nicely and being too bold/demanding. I never seem to be on the right side, though :-?? I'll conclude that men are just dense.

I've found this too. It is sometimes annoying that I have to spell everythig out like he's a child but it works out much better for everyone if I tell him exactly what I need from him.

I don't find that kind of communication cryptic, either, but I'm starting to think my H would. It's honestly something I'm just starting to realize so I'm working on it, too. I try not to come across as demanding, but I think I need to be more clear about exactly what I need instead of saying stuff like "It would be nice if you did this."

My thoughts are that I usually stew about something long before I say it out loud. And then I forget that she hasn't heard my stewing thoughts while I'm commuting or when i can't sleep at night. So when I say something casually/not directly - to me its like the watered down and nicer version of all the thoughts in my head - to her its like hey no big deal but maybe when you get the chance if you aren't busy you might be able to do x if you want? and she doesn't. And I'm like, why wasn't that clear? oh yea -you haven't heard me ponder about this for days, have you?
Yeah apparently I need to work on it, too. When we were getting married, I said multiple times "it would be nice if my brother was a groomsman" but he still went and asked an old friend he hadn't talked to in a decade. Then wondered why I was distraught over it.
5 years later, I'm still working on the overtly-direct approach... I think we need to read that 5 languages of love book.
Eff. We have to sign Rosie up for kindergarten here soon. We're trying to get her into the better elementary school in our area, but I still have to enroll her in my area school. It's annoying and I won't even know if she got in until August more than likely. Boo.
Also, looking at Schooldigger for test scores and what not is scary. They have a section that shows the vaccination percentages for each school. Some of the school in my area are so scary. There is one with a 68% vaccination percentage for Kindergarten.

well thats scary- where do you see the vax part?
and fwiw test scores and parent ratings don't always make a school. its like yelp. see if you can find other parents with kids there now?
It's under the Students tab and has it's own tab labeled 'Immunizations'. If I looked at my district it even compares them too. It's scary to see these things. I knew we had a large population on non-vaxxers (I know a few from my BWI). However, I thought most of them homeschooled. Apparently not.

This is so my wife. She always forgets that I am not privy to the conversations that happen in her head. And then asks me questions and I stare blankly at her and remind her to fill me in, it's mostly funny at this point. I'm sure I do it too.
I swear, I just want to hurt SO sometimes. It's now my fault that he doesn't have a Mt. Dew. He asked me to pick up a Mt. Dew and some ground beef for him. I have less than an hour between my class and Rosie getting out of school. So, I went to Trader Joes for something I needed and got his ground beef there too. I then got gas. I thought "Hey! They'll have Mt. Dew at the gas station!" No need to waste time going to the regular grocery store for a stinking single soda. Well, they were all out. So, he has no Mt. Dew and it's all my fault apparently.
I've never been a fan of showers, but right now I seriously dread them. I'm just so cold. And no matter how hot I have the water I just can't get warm. And then you have to get out while you're all wet. And then wet hair. Ug.
OMG, me too. I just finished showering and it was the worst experience ever. My skin is bright red from how hot the water was, but I was still freezing. I plug the drain because I've found that it helps if my feet aren't cold, then when I'm rinsing off I unplug it.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
I just avoid getting my head wet if I have to shower (as opposed to taking a bath that is) and wash my hair at some point when my body is dry, dressed, and warm. I also dry off my body with the heated air from the hair dryer. I have been accused of needing to check into the morgue for having a freezing cold body after a hot shower.

The cycle I got pregnant with M I freaked out and paid for overnight shipping, then didn't ovulate and had to pay extra for keeping the tank too long. It's so stressful. I hope it gets there in time @stringy813

We are supposed to take dinner to Papaw today and right now the windchill makes it feel 2. Here. In the land of grits and gravy. This is so not ideal.
