  • Oh man I have a lot to catch up on. I have missed being here! The 23rd of December my mom suffered a stroke. She started saying random things and couldn't tell me the date which prompted me to call 911. So now I am with my mom who is suffering from short term memory loss and an 11 week old. My mom was also our childcare so I've been busy making schedules between DH and in laws to take care of LO when I go back tomorrow. It was extremely overwhelming at first, but as my mom continues to improve and childcare is set, I am finally getting some control back in my life.

Hugs to all those going back to work. I really think that LO got cuter today just to make going back to work harder

  • @swizz09‌ wow that is a lot to handle! Glad your mom is improving.

I second a new breastfeeding thread!

Work went quickly today. Dd was fussing when I picked her up at daycare but then smiled and cooed when she saw me :x

Hope everyone had a good day whether you went back to work or kept the house running!

Does anyone else have a baby that barely lifts their head during tummy time? DD has a crazy strong neck when I'm holding her or if she's in her bumbo but when she's on her tummy, she just sucks on her hand and won't even try! I know she has a giant head and that sucker must be heavy but dang girl......let's do this!

Same here. She actually does a pretty good job when propped up on the boppy, but I want her to do it on the floor, too, so that she had to use her arms more and so she can learn to roll over. But on the floor she just wiggles and fusses.

  • Thanks everyone!!! Like I said, better day by day. The hardest part is watching her struggle to remember LO's name.

We don't have problems lifting, but LO has NO interest in rolling over. I put her on her stomach and she has more crawling motions than rolling over motions.

I am in NO rush for DD to roll :)

I think my desire to have her roll has to do with wanting her to sleep on her stomach (something I refuse to do until she has rolling mastered). I think it will help her in the crib. I'm getting nervous having her sleep in her RnP for the number of hours she is..
  • @swizz09‌ so sorry to hear about your mom. That's rough. But at least she's improving!

DS is not napping at all lately. I'm going cold turkey on the swing and it sucks.

Same here. Strong neck, back, tummy, legs, but not really into lifting her head for TT. :-??

  • I feel like my H would rather me not work and for us to be broke all the time. When he works a full 40 hrs per week (he does commercial drywall, so hours can be sporadic at times) we do well enough to pay all of our bills and buy food, but we never have much leftover to actually be able to do anything - even something as basic as going to the movies once in awhile can be pushing it financially.

I've started looking for a job, and he just seems...not into it. I would think that he would be excited for us to be able to have some extra money and not be stressed any time we want to do something fun, but he just isn't. I honestly think it's because he would rather work and have me be at home with the kids so he doesn't have to be alone with them when I'm at work (I'm looking for a mid shift or evening shift so that we don't need childcare). And that really fucking annoys me. I know it's hard taking care of a 3 year old and an infant because I do it every fucking day. Even when I'm home and he is holding Gavin, I can tell he wants me to come take over. Dude, I can't be the only one to get that little fucker to sleep!

    Yup. 90th percentile head problems.

    98th percentile over here

Also 98th percentile here. Everywhere we go I get comments on how long dd is for only being 2 months.

First of all, lol. Second that sounds like my brother. He bitches about money until SIL gets a job, then when she's at the job he bitches and says she can't work because he can't watch the kids. Well wtf do you want?! Anyway you should be like "I have a vag appointment", then just leave him to it for a couple hours.

He does just fine if I need to leave for a few hrs here and there for errands or something. I think he is freaked out by doing it alone all the time during the times I would be working.

DS is the exact same way. He can hold his head up completely alone when he's in his jumparoo yet when I put him on the floor he just sucks on his hand and face plants. He also has a large head in comparison to his body but I know he can do it!

100th percentile. I didn't even think you could get that, I thought they stopped at 99, but our Dr sheet from her 2 month checkup says 100.

She lifts her head during TT but then it gets heavy and it crashes into the floor. Somewhat alarming.

    @swizz09

    Why?

All that stuff about not being good for LO's neck and stuff. I feel like I'm gonna wreck this kid.

Oh and I'm worried the longer I leave her in there the harder it will be to transition to the crib. Currently we are half night in crib and half in RnP

How old is he that he's in the jumparoo?!? I feel so behind when I see what others do with their LOs. Maybe my pedi is just conservative? Not something I expected for NYC area where kids are expected to read by the time they are interviewing for pre-school.

  • I'm on the treadmill!!!

Get to the club and hear crying - find a bunch of kittens near the pool!! They scatter when I get there, but now I want to build them a shelter for the winter. I usually put a few in my backyard over the winter, and may bring one here.

and the gym is empty except for a froend's husband. Now he's going to tell her I'm still fat!!!

... And now I feel like LO's head is über small.

Maybe we need a percentile sticky thread. I need percentile warnings on threads.

DS is 14 weeks and he loves the jumparoo. It's one of the few places he'll let us put him down.
