Just to beat a dead horse some more, I don't get all the coco drama. I thought it was a funny joke that some people who clicked well came up with. It ended when "coco" had her baby, and then some (most?) of those friends stayed friends (surprise!) and began/continued to communicate with each other like the IRL friends they were. Not everybody has to be everyone's friend.
You know I love all y'all as the best, most entertaining online support group a girl could ever have. But I'm good with keeping A14 as my anonymous online friends and my IRL, face-to-face friends as the ones who know my address and whom I friend on FB. Sorry, but that's how I roll :-)
Also, I don't like this daily chatter thing :-( On RTT I'm always behind but at least I get all the gossip/ news/ updates eventually. I feel like with separate threads I'll miss whole days and just NEVER KNOW what happened that day. And that makes me sad. But it's cool that more people are joining in because of it, I guess.
@Bluebird2318 I'm at my IL's and have a couple hours of free time, but no computer to message you from! There's no way I could reply from my phone. Too much to say.

I just do not understand why realtors don't work on weekends. We drove around all yesterday looking at houses but not a single realtor in Santa Barbara county works on Saturday (or Sunday for that mater). Looked at a model home but the HOA fee is $169 a month, and there is no pool or clubhouse and the largest lot is 6k sqft, so I think that's out.

@EdoliesMom Don't worry about it; ain't nobody got time fo' dat! I'm with family as well this afternoon. It's "first Christmas" over here. I'll hear from you when you can. Enjoy your free time!

Counter tops: I just don't want them to be that laminated crap or tile. I like a closed floor plan because not everyone needs to see my junk, and I like to corral off my kids. This said I bought our current house without having ever been inside it. I bought it with laminate counters it now has blue sapphire granit, and it's about as closed a floor plan as is possible.
I have tile counters! They are large granite tiles. I think the previous owner was trying to find a cheap way to upgrade. They only bother me when I get flour in the cracks.
Everyone talking about remodeling makes me jelly. I want a house for Christmas.
The stupid concrete front stairs have started to disintegrate and crack from using salt. A quick google shows it could 500ish to fix and if it's not fixable 1200 to replace. For fucking stairs.
Oh fuck that! I'll stick with socks and underwear then.

We had tile counters in our old condo. I actually really liked them. They were way better than the faux wood laminate we have now. You could just plop a hot pan down anywhere with no worries about scorching the counters!
But yeah, the grout sucked.

When we did our kitchen we couldn't afford granite and and I loath laminate so we did large granite tiles and I liked them. The grout is level with tiles so I've never had any problems keeping it clean and no problems rolling stuff out on it. Your's are just done wrong lol
We chose butcher block because we are on a budget and couldn't afford granite or quartz (which is what my husband wanted) but I actually love the wood counters! I grew up with wood counters in my mother's kitchen so it's kind of nostalgic for me I guess. If you can afford quartz or granite, it would be a lower maintenance option, but I don't think I'll mind if I have to sand and oil it every few years.
Backsplash is new and from Lowes, actually! It was pretty affordable and really easy to put up (says DH, that was his mini project.)

We are looking to buy in the next few months and my list of needs is a mile long... I just can't wait for a big, blank canvas of a house to decorate. My Pinterest obsession is just adding to our budget with every click...
I'm ok, had some low lows and I've gotten better. I just quit my job and have an interview after the holidays. Little man is the happiest/most laid back child I've ever met. How is Canada?

I made so many cookies to bring to the nurses at work today and then left them on the train. ::insert crying emoji::
Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! But you have to know, many people must have enjoyed your happy accident. Misdirected Christmas cheer is still Christmas cheer Your nurses will understand Although they may expect something else soon lol

SO wants to redo our kitchen next year and the first thing out of his mouth about it was, "And we'll just tile the countertop."
NO. We will not be doing that.

Good thing I don't go back to work for a couple more months, I can't imagine what I would say out loud...

And with that I'm going to step away to watch cheesy Lifetime-y Christmas movies with my aunt. DON'T JUDGE ME.
