I am looking in to it, but right now, there's nothing to share. Should I find out what happened and it's not a glitch or a misunderstanding, I probably won't be allowed to tell you what happened.
I am still up because trying to catch up with life after the most trying afternoon and evening in a loooooong time. Do canines make a small boy dissolve in wailing shuddering sobs because a toy he really likes to play with is making a sound he likes that he controls by keeping on pushing the button over and over and over while sobbing? @-)
But then when I tell him I love him he leans in for kisses and hugs, and my heart bursts. So all is well :x
About to hit the hay for now, but I just put a pork roast in the crock pot to cook overnight. I got it because of @econmama's crock pot carnitas instructions, but I feel like I'm effing everything up. Econ, for just carnitas are you supposed to put the pork in without liquid? I put in some liquid. Also, WTF am I supposed to do with this PORK SKIN?!!!! It's seriously like a cross-section of a whole pig's leg. I think I overextended myself with a 5-lb pork roast. But it was on super sale.... :-??

I think everyone else would agree with me that you have received the honorary nurse badge @gutsymama. Your patient is a lot cuter than most of mine though!
@blairwitch If I remember correctly, eating from that tree was the one thing God forbade Adam and Eve from doing which is the original sin. Part of the punishment for that was that Eve would suffer the pains of child birth.
Obviously, the person who posted it is not Christian ("your God") and I don't identify that way either, but come on! It's such a stupid thing over which to attack someone with different beliefs.
I guess they left the rest of that lesson out in CCD
Hey ladies, just got home from a middle of the night horse emergency. No matter how quiet I try to be, the dogs still have to give me a bark. :-L No waking babies thankfully.
I'm off to sleep, hope all the babies and mommy's sleep well tonight.
Crib transfer #1 was unsuccessful. So back to the glider we go. Hoping number 2 goes smoothly. I can hear DH snoring all the day in LOs room.
My boss is making me take today off because he said I sounded terrible yesterday and wanted me to rest so I wasn't sick for the holidays. I am so excited to starfish in my bed on e DH goes to work.
We had our daycare holiday party yesterday at an inflatable bounce house place. Allison was in heaven and ran all over for the place for two hours. It was so adorable to watch her play with her little friends. Her and another little boy are dancing machines and was jamming to the beat.
Hello ladies! I'm quite worried about what happened to @mermomof6, I surely hope it's just a mistake. Is it possible that the posts that cause a user to be banned are all deleted in order to keep things confidential or something?
@Encchanted I'm going to hell too, but probably not for the epidural (I guess I get a pass because it was an emergency c/s)... however I do use BC and lived in sin with DH for a looong time and judge way too much, and have naughty thoughts and bad feelings... and so on haha I'm trying to be better though! but yes, I hate when people just want to tease others or even disrespect them because of their beliefs... but well, idiots will always be around...
G slept terribly for the second night in a row, he was awake at 4 and stayed up until 6.30... I stayed with him 1.5 hours and then DH gave me chance to sleep a bit before my alarm went off but at 6.30 G decided daddy was not enough so started screaming bloody murder... I made him fall asleep in the glider (something that didn't happen since he self-weaned) and then transferred him to the crib successfully! I slept 30 minutes more and then got ready for work :-<
I don't know what's going on with him anymore, it's just all so weird, around a week ago he stopped wanting to co-sleep after his MOTN wake-up, so now I have to settle him in his own crib or he won't settle at all... which is horrible because that means I get completely awake until he falls asleep which takes longer in his own room! It's funny because a couple of months ago I asked if you had transferred your kids to their own cribs and most of you told me that you didn't because you wanted to sleep... so I decided not to try to make him stay in his room after his usual wake-up and now here we are, he wants to stay there but wants me to be there until he falls asleep! :-L
Why can't I have a normal cuddly baby who wants to nurse until he's 6, co-sleep for ever and hug and kiss mommy? Instead I have this independent little boy who likes to undress by himself, brush his own teeth, sleep in his own bed (no singing or touching please mommy, you distract me!), etc etc... sometimes I hug him even if he tries to push me away... :-/

Yes, basically all suffering and death is believed to be the result of original sin. In particular, When they were banished from the garden of Eden, Men had to work for the first time. In the garden of Eden, they ate the food that grew there on its own. After, they had to work the land, and become farmers and hunters.
Comes from the traditional gender roles. Women have babies, men work to provide.
^ that's actually the beauty of the New Testament. You can alleviate suffering and life is not all about suffering. It is also why it drives me crazy when people point to Leviticus as a reason that same sex marriage should not be legal. Or really, pull anything from the Old Testament out in a vacuum. Unless, of course they are Jewish. But despite no New Testament, Jews tend to be more progressive anyway.
I proudly got my epidural. Although next time I want it way earlier. I got it when I was dilated to 9, and it didn't really work, but there was nothing that could be done by that time. I don't think God cares how you bring your child into the world.
I read that as "you circumcised your gods punishment for original sin" I was so confused.
I did the same thing
And I was taught original sin was eating fruit from a forbbiden tree...I dont see how childbirth fits in there...
I find the original sin/childbirth connection really interesting.
Childbirth is painful for humans mainly because we:
a) have large heads due to large brains (intelligence) and
b) walk upright, which affects the shape of our pelvis, making that large head hard to fit though.
Results of evolution.
Original sin was not eating just any fruit, but that from the "Tree of knowledge of good and evil". Eating the fruit had some immediate effects, particularly that Adam and Eve realized that they were naked, and covered themselves. They were then banished, and went from being scavengers, or hunter gathers to farming and working.
Naked hunter/gatherers gaining knowledge, clothing themselves and becoming farmers? Sounds very evolutionary. So painful childbirth as a result of gaining knowledge actually fits.
Its amazing how much of Genesis can be read as an allegory for evolution.
@gutsymama No liquid on the carnitas. Just put into the crockpot rubbed with spices.
Well shit.

So we should never alleviate suffering in any way?
While Catholics do find value in suffering, it is certainly not wrong to alleviate what can be.

Exactly! Jesus was all about revolutionary ideas so ignoring what He came to teach us and only pointing to random pieces of the Old Testament doesn't get anywhere. That was absolutely my point when we were discussing about religious freedom leading to nurses/doctors refusing to take care of homosexuals... it cannot be, because the orders were that we should take care of each other regardless of every single thing... I don't understand people calling themselves Christians and being jerks to one another!
