So we're switching daycare centers because ours is poshest in all the land and we, therefore, pay a small fortune for it; but we simply cannot afford to send 2 to this place. We signed a contract with a new, more affordable center to start both our toddler and infant next June, but said we'd be open to switching P over sooner to give her as much time to adjust as possible. Well, they called me today and said we can start her in January. It makes sense to save money for 6 months before our baby will be joining her at daycare in June, but I'm seriously having MAJOR anxiety about switching her so soon. She loves her teachers and friends, and I might just cry thinking about taking her away from all that in a month

Is it the Trader Joe's drinking chocolate? Yum. I miss those cups of deliciousness. I'm on the MSPI diet and trying to make dairy-free cocoa/mocha. Boring but worth it for LO to not shriek!

Don't fret over this too much. We did the same when my daughter was 2.

She loved her teacher and several of the kids in her class.

On her first day, her new teacher scooped her up and got her interacting so quickly she didn't have time to fuss. She now loves her two new teachers and actually asks about them on the weekend. She's even requested play dates with her new class mates.

If they teachers are good at their job, there might not even been an issue.

I appreciate the encouraging words, @sarenu1. I know kids are so adaptable and she'll never remember this time. Hoping it's definitely harder on me than her! I'm just feeling bummed about it.

It's okay to feel bummed. Changing child care providers is really hard. We told the nanny about the move last night, and we all cried (and cried, and cried, and cried). I would recommend doing the change now. For a couple of reasons.

- So LO has some time to adjust before the new baby
- So LO doesn't associate the new day care with the new baby/blame the new baby
- So if it isn't going to work out for you, you can figure things out before the new baby has to go there too. (This was our situation. Our new DC was AWFUL and there was no way I was taking my newborn there.)
- The saving money thing is good too

And in conclusion, do it.

Those are all fantastic reasons to switch sooner. It really was less about the money and more about giving P time to adjust before she suddenly has a new baby AND a new daycare all at once. I never thought about previewing it to make sure it isn't too rotten for her and a NB!

When is your move, TJ? And, while I knew you were moving, I missed why. YH's job?

Yeah, MH's job. The move is kind of a cluster right now. He starts 1/5. But we haven't sold our house, found a new house, or found a job for me. So we aren't quite sure how we are going to make this all work. Especially with it all falling over the holidays. So yeah, way more info than you asked, but basically, I dunno.

That's legit. Losing our nanny is #1 the biggest con to leaving.

No its Theo brand. Really it's just crushed dark chocolate and I know it. Lol

I have a visa gift card that my husband gave me (that he got at work). I want to use it to do some online shopping. Any idea what information to input for the card information? As in, there is no name on the card it just says card recipient, and what do I use as a billing address? Also I hope to use it on amazon if that makes a differance.

Don't worry TJ! It'll sort itself out (really!). Job hunting sucks big time, but you'll find a new position. I know you didn't ask for opinions, but I'm sure everything will fall into place. Life has a funny way of working itself out, even if it takes longer than we'd like

They didn't purchase them at his work, they were sent as a reward from a supplier. Do I don't have any kind of receipt. I'll see if I can find something if not, I'll just use it in store, which means it will end up spent on groceries. Thanks all.

there's no receipt needed. You check out with a credit card. and put in the name section "card recipient". and then use the gift card number as the CC number. then there's a security code on the back and an expiration date

I have been AWOL recently, but just read this thread to get caught up.

My DH just did the same thing like 3 nights ago. SO WEIRD. Neither of us knew until morning and he did clean it up.
